don't let the name fool you!. very good food suprisingly affordable for the quality and quantity of food.serviceis excellant from the wait staff to the back of house. food is served prepared perfectly and right on time. great for a chain restaurant.

good food good service. we really like this restaurant. it has great food (love the burger and the chicken strips and the salads...most everything). we really appreciate theservicehere....most other restaurants should visit here and take notes.

stopped here for a friday night dinner. we had a couple vodka martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. delicious. i had a french dip sandwich which was good, but not great. theservicewas good and friendly. overall a good dining experience.

theservicewas fantastic. enjoyed the queso appetizer. the steak was cooked perfectly as were the french fries. the portions were very large. would highly recommend.

pretty pricey for what you actually get. a chain place and my few visits have been a mix if good and not so good in food andservicelevel.

fantasticserviceat the bar. very friendly with great cocktails. highly recommend the artichoke as appetizer and red fish as meal followed by the worlds best carrot cake!!

i love this place. it's cozy and dim, good for a date. also nice for a girls lunch before a mall trip :). the prime rib french dip sandwich is wonderful, as is their spinach and artichoke dip app. but my favorite item on the menu is the cypress salad. between th sweet croutons, perfect fried chicken, avocado, and pecans, it is just delicious.serviceis always good too. it is a little on the pricey side. the menu is not huge but has many good choices.

this doctor loves j alexanders chattanooga!!!. yes ! j alexanders is the place to go, over all the other corporate fine dining chains!
i am a physician in little rock, arkansas and my husband and i met my father and family for drinks and dinner on his birthday!
travis rocked! he was gracious enough to be as attentive to my large group as possible, while dealing with a large amount of bar patrons, all by himself! he was affable, formal, kind, generous and made a fantastic cocktail for all the ladies in our group!
i had no complaints . theservicewas great. the food was perfect! and a special kudos to travis, our rockin bartender. we will def. be back!!!

dissappointed with my last vist. my husband and i generally like j alexander's restaurant, however...when we decided one day to take a client and his wife out, we were highly displeased. i spent so much time talking about how great this place was, about theservicebeing fantastic and how amazing the shrimp is, i even suggested that our client try the steak maui, because of how awesome it is. so i was completely mortified and utterly embarrassed when we realized we has a slow server, and no one helped her with our table which i found odd because usually when we go everyone pitches in to satisfy the guest which is something i loved about this place. then the server told us they were out of fried shrimp!!!! i was so mad, i was really looking forward to their fried shrimp because its the only fried shrimp i like....but to top it off, my steak maui and the client's steak maui were just high dollar pieces of fat. i'm so embarrassed, i was really counting on j's to help me make an impression but all that happened was i ended up paying $200.00 forservicequality and food that wasn't half as good as the hooters down the road...

not treated the same in the bar!. my friends and i go probably two or three times a month and when we go sometimes the bring free chips and dip and big green olives to us. so we are sitting there drinking three or four beers and wine each and not once did they even offer us anything. meanwhile others are offered or just giving. i see this go on all the time. why don't they treat all the customers to the same thing or at least make sure to ask if they want anything. i get so frustrated that they do this and it is not the sameservicefor all. i wish they would straighten up in the bar area. i do like the restaurant because it is close to everything and nice atmosphere. i wish they would treat all customers the same that's all.

appetizers. how come they give to some and not others. i never understand why i see some eating the cheese dip and not others. i have been there three times in a row and last this past week a bunch of young kids were sitting at the bar eating this and asking for seconds and got it. so i would like management to explain how this works. either you offer it to all sitting the bar area or not. i don't like to ask for stuff, but after drinking 3 or 4 beers it would be nice to have a snack. also, since when kids are allowed to sit at the bar too?

no good. theservicewas great, the food however was awful. my husband and i both had the new york strip. it was tough and had a burnt taste to it. i would not recommend this place.

favorite restaurant. this is our favorite restaurant. food is fabulous and bestserviceof anywhere we have been.
