simply the best cold cut subs in the dc area. the italian store is a must stop, if you are craving an italian style cold cut sub,
there is always a line, but it is so worth it. though the line may seem endless, the staff is super efficient, and you'll have your sub in 5 minutes. i would suggest, the milan or the romano plus a pack of altoids for desert. :-)

great stuff!

i was happy with this place, their sandwiches and pasta were delicious. i wasn't as thrilled with the pizza, it looked good but i have had better. stick with one of the two and you will be a happy camper.

best nyc style italian in dc area. i'm from northern nj - soprano's country - an italian food eden. this place has the best pizza and subs in the dc area. period. i typically go with the milano on a hard roll with l/t/vinegar, oil, hot and sweet peppers. its almost strictly take out; there are a few cafe tables outside when the weather's nice. be sure and telephone your order in ahead of time!! even with that, expect to wait for your food. pay for your order when you check in with the cashier, so you can dash when the pizza comes out.
outstanding place.

recently ordered pizza here and was not disappointed. i had pepperoni and mushroom. the crust has a wonderful stretched dough texture. sauce is fabulous and the pizza was "juicy", just the way i like it. now that i have had pizza here, nothing else will ever compare.

since i moved to arlington, i disliked every pizza i tried until i tried the pizza here. the pepperoni is just the way i like it; stringy cheese, toppings to the edge, excellent sauce and overall juiciness. the crust is excellent. the sicilian offers a thicker deep dish crust which is light, chewy with a lifht crispness on the bottom and generous cheese and yummy tomato sauce on top.

the sandwiches are awesome! i always get the genoa. there are always line-ups here but they move fast and the food is definitely worth the wait.

tried their potato salad. i'll pass on that. bland and pricey. same with their dolmados.

i go here at least once or twice per month.

ask them to heat up your pizza if you are eating on site, otherwise throw it in the oven for extra crispiness when you get home. the sub sandwiches come with your choice of soft or hard roll, and while i usually order the soft, i recently had the hard and it was far superior.

as a native new yorker, this is my go to place when i'm craving ny pizza. you can order by the slice or by the pie. the subs are also great with wonderful italian meats and i love the crusty rolls; just perfection!

milano!. back in the day, i would always order a milano. if you get a sub here, you have, absoultely have to get a sub on a hard roll. if you get the soft, it just isn't the same.

they have excellent italian subs here. whether you get the milano or anything else, they are always first rate.

the pizza is always good too. last time i had it was around new years when i was home and it tasted as good as ever. its not super thin like a nyc, but its still pretty thin. the pizza also has an amazing crust. that crust is great.

one suggestion - call ahead whether it be for subs or pizza. the place is always, always crowded. if you can call ahead and pick up 'twill save you a bunch of time.

this hearty lunch option is bursting with italian meats and cheeses served on either a hard or soft roll (i recommend the latter) dressed with oil, lettuce, onions, and hot and/or sweet peppers. located in a strip mall off of lee highway in arlington, the italian store specializes in philadelphia-style italian subs as well as pizzas, fresh pasta sauces, and a variety of other italian staples. and while the outside is non-descript, the word has been out for some time that this is pretty much the only place to go in arlington for sandwiches and pizza of this quality, so expect large crowds. and true to its italian roots, expect plenty of chaos, disorganization, and long waits -- all of which the consultant in me really wants to consult with management to improve. also, there is a no doubt that the grocery selections are grossly overpriced. first tip: if you are

too early to tell.. i reserve my judgment of the italian store, as i don't believe i've had the full experience. i got the nino's pizza and it was good, better than your average white pizza. the crust was a little too floury than what i like, but worthy of another shot. also the grocery selection of italian goodies is excellent. the lobster ravioli i picked up to cook at home are enough to make me come back. i did not have one of the subs, so another review is forthcoming.
