this restaurant is a bit hard to discover as it's entrance is a bit hidden and it's location is not really somewhere you normally would go to when sightseeing in sta rosa / nuvali. however, this is a good find and serves authentic japanese cuisine! the number of japanese people eating here is a testament to that.

we have eaten here several times and we really like the quality of their food, particularly their sushi and maki rolls whichtastefresh. we also recently ordered a chanko nabe hotpot, and it had a really large serving size and fresh ingredients too! it was a bit expensive though it is easily good for 4 people. their price are on the fair side, bordering a bit on expensive for some dishes.

the place is big and they have the special rooms which give more japanese vibe. however, some of the chairs and decor seem old, as there are sometimes bad smell coming from them. hopefully they can take better care of it in the future. servers are efficient but do seem like they are always in a rush.

overall, i recommend this place for quality japanese food!

was treated for dinner here by one of our manager’s during the middle of the week, and boy the placed was already packed by 7pm. different groups come here to dine such as families, barkadas, japanese or korean or
chinese and filipino white collared employees. upon entering you’ll be welcomed by the servers and the interiors will really give you that japanese resto feels. they also have floor seating if preferred. as for the food, the best seller ramen that i had was normal for me. the noodles used is not ramen noodles, i’m guessing that it’s just easy cook pouch noodles. the sushi, on the other hand have 8 pieces per serving and i think that’s a catch already. what i loved is their gyoza, tempura, and sashimi. having just the right amount of umami. not that overwhelming that you can stilltastethe freshness of the food. price range is the usual for japanese cuisine here in ph, around 200-400 per order. they also serve cold tea as complimentary drinks. overall i liked the place, would definitely come back to try other offerings.

a good place to go to if you want a slightly cheaper and bigger servings japanese cuisine. food comes to you fast. every lunch time a lot of japanese and korean workers go here as well as a handful of filipinos so this places gets nearly full quickly. the foodtasteis great and the servings are big.

the ambiance at ippon yari is really different from all the japanese restaurants that i've tried. first, because it is teeming with japanese people and second, because it reminded me of the movie, spirited away (check it out!).

the restaurant being filled with japanese people is probably enough proof that the food being served in this restaurant is authentic.

i have tried the kani salad, katsudon, and miso soup. these food items actuallytastedifferent from the ones i tasted before in other japanese restaurants. this is because the flavor is not too strong. these items have a more subtle flavor andtasteas compared to how it was prepared in other japanese restaurants. i guess it is because these are really made for japanese people and not to suit the filipino tongue which seeks for a lot of flavor in every dish. nevertheless, i love what i have ordered and i would definitely try other items on their menu when i come back. 😊

it's one of the japanese restaurants in santa rosa, laguna. i kinda like this one because it gets crowded easily, not by filipino customers, but by japanese customers. that's a proof that they have a good, authentic japanese dining experience there. there's a part of the restaurant where the interiors reminds me of an old japanese house, and i like it.

i recommend their mochi ice cream and katsu curry. their mochi ice cream is bitter and chewy in a way you'll like it, and it was quite unique. the katsu curry was generous in curry sauce. i hope they can make the katsu bigger, anyway, i like to drizzle that curry sauce on the katsu to give moretasteon the meat. their tori karaage is not bad but not outstanding for me. the vegetable ramen was light and not too creamy. it was generous in veggie toppings, and some shrimps.

consistently great food and good service. although variety in dishes may be improved, the near-authentictasteeasily outweighs this slight hiccup.

[2018-11-20] ippon yari is the sixth restaurant of a six restaurant food crawl of tagaytay and sta. rosa. by this time, we have gone and eaten at 5 other restaurants so ippon yari is a bit disadvantaged. it is normally more difficult to please people who are not hungry compared to those who are. food served – i hope serving food on succeeding food crawls/meetups be done similar to this. there is a set of food/drinks used for photos and there is a ‘sampler set’ served to each participant that includes all food (and drinks if multiple types/variants) in small size enough to have a good taste. this enables all participants to have atasteof all food/drinks served and eat it while still hot/peak of goodness/freshness

nice quiet place. service was good as the attendants were always quick to respond. we ordered shio ramen, appropriate for the rainy weather outside. thetastewas ok but a bit too oily for my taste. the spicy salmon sashimi was the winner, with a well balanced mix of crunchiness and the wonderful texture of the salmon. will definitely come back again if i’m near the area.

one of the best japanese restaurants in laguna. at lunch time earlier, i ordered the following: vegetable gyoza, salmon and squid sashimi, ebi tempura, and miso soup. they give compliments in the house which include japanese salad and iced tea. the only downside was the miso soup. it was a bit salty for mytastebuds that's why i wasn't able to finish it. nevertheless, this restaurant is a must try! 😊👍🏻 it was my 6th time to have lunch there.

craved for some japanese food earlier and decided to try out this restaurant across paseo de sta. rosa. it gives out a japanese vibe. the resto is divided into two parts: the smoking and non-smoking section of the restaurant. waitresses were not really friendly. the waitress seemed irritated when i asked her something about the menu. i ordered this ramen and a mixed fry tempura. it was not what i expected from a japanese restaurant. i didn't really like thetasteof their tempura. something's weird with thetasteof the batter. the ramen was okay. a bit too salty for my taste. i wouldn't really want to go back here again.
