hot rods is by far the best restaurant in the area. they put their own unique spin on classic dishes like their thanksgiving dinner sandwich, to a hamburger with peanut butter. they have a great staff who you will be. hard pressed to find their equal, anywhere. the atmosphere is what you would expect for a 50s diner. there is jukebox up front, and lots of great memorabilia on the walls. they have great salads and desserts. the portion sizes are huge, and don't be surprised if the owner, ashley, greets you at the door. i personally drive 1 1/2 hours toeatthere. yes, its that good.

best breakfast in town!. oh wow..where to start. you will not find a better breakfast in this area. it's a buffet-but everything is hot and fresh. assorted potatoes, lots of different meat, and scrumptions biscuits and gravy. and even better-it's super cheap! you can easily fill up on their blue plate (one trip to the bar) or for less than six bucks do the all you can shove in your face. ;) i wish they had the breakfast bar at night! i haven't had dinner there but i've seen some of the food as it comes out and the portions look large and people seem happy with their meals. the place is small and decorated with a lot of cute, funny stuff and 50's memorablia, as well as a jukebox that you can play. during nice weather, you caneaton their outside patio. oh, and the fried twinkie-well worth a heartattack. ;)

great place toeatfor the whole family. love the variety of food and the large portions. everything tastes fresh and comes to the table hot. it is my 3 year old's favorite place to eat. she asks for it daily! but maybe that's because we pass it every day on the way to the gym--and you gotta hit the gym after chowing down one of 35 massive burgers they have on the menu!

went here with my room mate while attending nco academy at mcghee-tyson. they have 100 different burgers, all of them delicious. we went back a couple times and would order different burgers, have them cut in half, then eacheathalf. staff is very friendly. atmosphere is retro/nostalgic 50's diner. clean. fast service.

like a lot!. i drive from west knoxville to maryville toeatat hot rods 50's diner. the only other restaurant i do that for is foothills milling company. i've been eating at hot rod's since it opened. it's owned by a guy named ray who does most of the cooking and must work 80 hours a week. the food is what i come for but the experience is a big plus. the look, the decor and memorabilia are all entertaining and make the meal more enjoyable. they have over 50 ways they can do your burger but the most impressive burger to me is the chicken burger where they grind their own chicken to make the patty. with the seasoning they add, i think i like the taste better than a beef burger. my friend steve loves their salmon burger. they do great "buffalo" meals with their spicy buffalo sauce on chicken & burgers. i try to have their beef liver and grilled onions with bacon every month. it's hard to find that done correctly. the menu has something for everyone. it's got fish, italian, cajun and more to go with the classic diner classics you would expect in a diner. i usually find that when menus have too many items that the quality suffers but that doesn't seem to happen there. it's worth the drive and a great place for a family or a date.

something for everyone. there's so much to choose from that it can be slighlty overwhelming trying to narrow down a pick...there's literally something for everyone. the jalapeno burger is always my go to burger though. the jalapeno bottlecaps (fried jalapenos) make the sandwich. pretty much everything i've had is yummy, but i do suggest picking another side besides the french fries. they are pretty blah.

hot rods is good for any hunger level. i've gone here for snacks, full meals, and after dinner desserts.

they also have an e-club where you can get occasional deals and even a coupon for a free meal on the week of your birthday.

they are a small restraunt so be prepaired to sit in a close environment. sometimes it's difficult toeathere with a toddler in a high chair due to the lack of space.
fun environment...neon lights, jukebox, 50's memorabilia.
overall a good place to go.

hot rods 50’s diner. i found this place on the internet and knew we would be going through knoxville so we drove a few miles off the main road toeatat hot rods. it was a great decision. i previously signed up for the e-mails on hot rods and joined their e-club. for that i got a free appertizer. had the shrimp which were excellant. for the entree i ordered the pork sliders which came out as two pork chops on buns. they were delicious. my spouse ordered two cheeseburger sliders whcih were excellant. the prices were unbelivable as they were very low. less than $5 for the sliders.service was excellant even though our waiter was working a large table next to us.this is a fun place to visit andeatin. plenty of parking on the lot. a sports car marks the location which is downtown.

guilty pleasure. we really like this place. the food is good, the portions are huge and the prices are cheap. however, it is not the type of food that we caneatregularly. we consider it a guilty pleasure and a treat toeathere. this is the type of place you would see on diners, drive-ins and dives. my wife and split the pork tenderloin sandwich because it was so huge! we don't know how they can offer the portion sizes they do at the prices they do. if you're really hungry this is place to go, alot of bang for your buck!

this thing is massive! the bun is about the size of my hand with my fingers spread apart... the pork pattie itself was easily twice that size. the breading is very crunchy and locks the juice of the tenderloin inside keeping it nice and moist. i will definitely order this again! its easily enough for two people.

a new favorite!. we've never had anything bad from hot rod's. my husband and i comeeathere every time he comes home off the road. the breakfast buffet is amazing! they have everything you'd want for breakfast at a very good price. if you're here for lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong no matter what you pick. the burgers are huge, juicy and tasty. they have the best fried pickles around. the fried turkey dinners and sandwiches have amazing flavor and you can taste the freshness in everything.
