yummy!. we have been several times. lunch and dinner are great. portions are large and the prices are very fair. love the philly, the ribbon fries, and so much more. not a fan of the fried banana in the banana split, but who can argue with a banana split. recently had breakfast. wow! best bargain in three counties. french toast, eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage, grits, gravy... terrific! give it a try, you won't leave hungry or poor!

hot rods is by far the best restaurant in the area. they put their own unique spin on classic dishes like their thanksgiving dinner sandwich, to a hamburger with peanut butter. they have a great staff who you will be. hard pressed to find their equal, anywhere. the atmosphere is what you would expect for a 50s diner. there is jukebox up front, and lots of great memorabilia on the walls. they have great salads and desserts. the portion sizes are huge, and don't be surprised if the owner, ashley, greets you at the door. i personally drive 1 1/2 hours to eat there. yes, its that good.

best breakfast in town!. oh wow..where to start. you will not find a better breakfast in this area. it's a buffet-but everything is hot and fresh. assorted potatoes, lots of different meat, and scrumptions biscuits and gravy. and even better-it's super cheap! you can easily fill up on their blue plate (one trip to the bar) or for less than six bucks do the all you can shove in your face. ;) i wish they had the breakfast bar at night! i haven't had dinner there but i've seen some of the food as it comes out and the portions look large and people seem happy with their meals. the place is small and decorated with a lot of cute, funny stuff and 50's memorablia, as well as a jukebox that you can play. during nice weather, you can eat on their outside patio. oh, and the fried twinkie-well worth a heartattack. ;)

good burgers and they serve big portions, enough to take some home for the next meal. not very healthy but good for an occasional treat.

great place to eat for the whole family. love the variety of food and the large portions. everything tastes fresh and comes to the table hot. it is my 3 year old's favorite place to eat. she asks for it daily! but maybe that's because we pass it every day on the way to the gym--and you gotta hit the gym after chowing down one of 35 massive burgers they have on the menu!

redemption never tasted so sweet. my first trip to hot rods delivered great food but the service was horrible. the only drink was the one krissy brought to our table and we never got a refill. i try to take the busy-ness of the establishment into consideration with slow food and even slower service but they weren't really that busy! not to mention her personality was that of a snooty person of whom acting as if she were doing us a favor waiting on us! let me tell you krissy provided poor service without a smile.
my mom wanted to go to hot rods today for lunch and even though i was hesitant, she was so excited, i agreed. as we were seated i remember thinking about our first trip and dreading the whole experience but boy was i wrong! we were greeted by sarai (with an i) and she was fantastic. she made us feel as if we were at home, took excellent care of us, our food was as ordered, and treated us as queens. she made sure our drinks never went below half full and checked on us frequently but not stalkingly. i loved it and we will totally be back only if she is there. so - if you want crap service, go see krissy. if you want excellent service, with a smile, and happy you decided to come by...see sarai (with an i). she'll serve you right up!

hot rods is fairly small and fairly busy, so i didn't get to try it for the first time until a couple of years ago.  now i return several times a year even though it's a pretty far drive for me.  my favorite combo combines the steak-burger sliders with ribbon fries and a thin banana malt.  everything home-made and delicious.  over the years we've sampled a tiny fraction of the rest of their large diner menu and every single thing we've tried we would get again, but with so many choices and such a perfect burger/fry/shake combo, we don't often repeat.  too many new things to try :)  if you've never had ribbon fries, i'm guessing it's a spiral sliced potato, fanned out to look like a big mound of potato chips, but with a flavor much more like a crispy shoestring fry -- highly recommended.
