hot rods 50's diner

guilty pleasure. we really like this place. the food is good, the portions are huge and the prices are cheap. however, it is not the type of food that we can eat regularly. we consider it a guilty pleasure and a treat to eat here. this is the type of place you would see on diners, drive-ins and dives. my wife and split the pork tenderloin sandwich because it was so huge! we don't know how they can offer the portion sizes they do at the prices they do. if you're really hungry this is place to go, alot of bang for your buck!

just one problem.. i've been there many times. every time it's been enjoyable, and a good experience. i went yesterday for the buffet, and it was amazing. so many choices, i picked them all!!! my waitress was a lady named alyssa. she was kind, energetic, and always kept our drinks full. there was also another young lady working, but i do not recall her name. she also was kind, and checked on us whenever she was near. i'm glad i had such a nice experience this time, because the time before that was not!!! i went for lunch, and had an older lady. she was cocky, rude, and gave off the impression she did not want to be there. the food was also amazing, but our server made us not want to come back. i'm so glad yesterday was a time to remember, definitely coming back again for good food, and hopefully good service!!

great greasy spoon, diner fare!. we stumbled upon hot rods about two years ago and love it! the restaurant is clean, the staff is sweet and helpful, and the food is yummy! great milkshakes! burgers to drool over if you're a burger lover! great kids selection--ours love the hot dog. the regular fries are of the shoestring variety and pretty average; but the ribbon fries and sweet potato fries are both awesome! the thanksgiving day sandwich is just what it sounds like and it's delish!!! we often take our family--visiting from out of town--and they enjoy it, too! fyi--this is no place for a total vegetarian (staff is forthcoming about the yuck factor of their "veggie" options) or for anyone counting calories; but it is a great, occasional treat that our family really enjoys!

a blast from the past!. i had the jalepeno burger and wife had bacon cheese burger. both were excellent and unbelievably huge; cooked perfectly. potato ribbons are very good as well. tried the banana pudding and i was pleasantly surprised....the best banana pudding i've ever had at a restaurant. wanna go back and try the chicken pot pie and then the breakfast buffet. we loved the 50's music and decor!

good stuff. had the best grilled hot dog at hot rod's. nice atmosphere, great food, many options. some of the waitresses have short attention spans, but the food makes up for it.

food was great bog servings and heather the server was the best.

we ate here for the first time on christmas eve after stumbling across an ad on facebook back in september. simply put all seven of us were blown away by the portion size and the freshness and quality of the food especially considering the incredible price. between us we sampled some of the specialty burgers (from over 30 choices), liver and onions, chicken tenders, veggie burger, fried turkey & dressing, multiple homemade sides, fresh cut fries and onion rings. no one could finish their food. we have been back twice and have reccommended hot rods to many others. small, yet clean, perfectly decorated and friendly service. a "must" visit.

great breakfast buffet, although none of it is healthy! nice to sit outside and eat breakfast.

great breakfast. my wife and i like to go here for the breakfast buffet. the biscuits & gravy are excellent, the prices for what you get are reasonable.

fun atmosphere, good food, good music, good times.

sooooo very good!!. i am continually amazed at how good the food is at hot rods. i love the breakfast buffet, best grits, oatmeal and biscuits & gravy i've ever had! i love having the chili with spaghetti, the burgers are delicious! there are so many menu items i never get bored. i'm just starting to enjoy the italian corner. hot rods is a wonderful dining experience.

i keep coming back!. i visited alcoa again and had to got to hot rods. just love the breakfast, the grits, oatmeal and biscuits and gravy are delicious. the small burgers and chili make me hungry just thinking about them. restaurant is kept very clean and staff and owner are very friendly. just a great place to eat!

very enjoyable dining experience. great place to eat! i've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here and each meal has been wonderful. very friendly staff, everyone sincerely wants to please customers. restaurant is very clean. owners have done a great job in making a fun place to eat with a menu that offers enough choices not to bored eating there.

great expectations. my family and i went to hot rods one saturday evening expecting a great diner experience. our waitress was great, and did a great job. we ordered an appetizer of fried pickles and fried zucchini. both were crunchy and delicious. for the main meal two in our group ordered the classic hamburgers, which they said were great. they were also big! come with a good appetite if you order that.

my mom ordered the black bean burger, and commented on how it had a very strange taste. i tasted it and turned up my nose. blech!

i ordered a caesar salad and creamy pot pie soup. my salad dressing was a bit bland and the salad had a lot of white pieces in it. my chicken soup was good, just a bit on the sweet side due to the cream. i should have ordered the grilled cheese, which is what i really wanted.

but sadly, it was the chocolate malt that we ordered that was the worst of all. it had malted powder in large clumps in the chocolate ice cream. like the mixed it once and then gave it to us. so if you order it, make sure you ask them to double blend.

ultra cool diner. great food, fun atmosphere and good prices. just try to leave room for dessert!

this thing is massive! the bun is about the size of my hand with my fingers spread apart... the pork pattie itself was easily twice that size. the breading is very crunchy and locks the juice of the tenderloin inside keeping it nice and moist. i will definitely order this again! its easily enough for two people.

a new favorite!. we've never had anything bad from hot rod's. my husband and i come eat here every time he comes home off the road. the breakfast buffet is amazing! they have everything you'd want for breakfast at a very good price. if you're here for lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong no matter what you pick. the burgers are huge, juicy and tasty. they have the best fried pickles around. the fried turkey dinners and sandwiches have amazing flavor and you can taste the freshness in everything.
