verygoodfor pub food. my husband and i each started with a beer. they have agoodselection. we shared the gravy fries which were delicious and smothered in cheese. then, it was brunch time so i had the eggs florentine and my husband had the brisket hash. it was allgoodexcept i didn't care for the homemade hashbrowns which were chunks of potato. then we ended with the icebox pie which was amazing. it was super rich and chocolates with baileys in the whip cream topping and pecans on top. i highly recommend it.

really is best bar food. 12/3/13 update: i have been back three times since my original review. i love this place. their menu will change. the dessert changes daily weekly. we had snicker's cheesecake a few weeks back. last night it was pumpkin cheesecake. both were awesome. the food is so good. recent orders have been brisket chili frito pie (great), gravy fries (yum), shepard's pie, brisket melt, and tomato soup w/ grilled cheese. we have yet to have anything where we said, "no thanks." the chef changes the menu and does a reallygoodjob.

original review: there is a sign on the wall that says best bar food 2012. it truly is. i finally asked why the bar food was so good. they said they had a real chef who prepares fresh ingredients each day. it shows. the place itself is a heavy wood bar with stool seating. there is a full menu of beer choices.

while i like the beer, we come for the food. the fried goat cheese is creamy and wonderful. the fresh cut gravy fries are well done. there is not too much gravy that you cannot still pick at it with your fingers, but forks work best. the grilled steak shepard's pie is very good. two of us ordered it. the blackened fish taco received great reviews from one person in our group. the real highlight at holy grail is the burger. they are spectacular. the blue cheese and caramelized pear burger is top notch. the pear was an unexpected pleasure. we have stolen the idea and now make pear burgers at home. to finish the night, we had the snicker's cheesecake. the snicker flavor came through in each bite and mixed with the creamcheese. very good.

we have yet to have anything at holy grail that is anything less than good. most is great!

second time at this restaurant. first time wasgoodbut this time was terrible. slow (almost no) service. empty glasses for way too long. food served without silver wear with which to eat it. migas had more tomatoes and avacado than eggs and chorizo. corn tortillas were soggy and broke apart when i took a bite. very disappointing.

i ordered their holy grail burger that is a "mix of fresh sirloin hand-ground on site, seasoned with spices and a touch of pork fat, grilled to order on a soft ciabata bun topped with your choice of any of the artisanal cheeses from our cheese board selection". they say artisanal cheese… they must mean artisan cheese. never mind it all soundsgoodto me. the cheese from their cheese board was salemville blue, compte gryuere, sweet cream brie, paprika crusted smoked cheddar, herbed chevre goat cheese, bruder baslil, red dragon and finally a cahill porter chee

surprisinglygoodfood. along with the great beer selection, the food is not your normal bar food. i have tried the monte cristo, the basil tomato soup with grilled cheese as well as the cheese platter. everything that i have tried so far has been great. my boyfriend has also tried the pork sliders and really enjoyed them. each time i have gone in, the staff has been nice and the bartenders are knowledgeable. i'm not the biggest beer connoisseur so they helped me out! as for the atmosphere, its small but charming. you can definitely carry on a conversation with the people you came with as opposed to other pubs in frisco. if you likegoodbeer andgoodfood, try it out!

fledgling gastropub. beer selection is commendable and honor all types of tastes.
old rasputin stout was an enjoyable experience, velvet dark chocolate and wonderful. small glass, but it will ast you.
jack daniels single barrel is always good, and it was a hefty portion and well iced.
food wasgood(not great). i only say not great however because it could be great. the ingredients were fresh and that is the best way to start. the salad was lovely, but a common mistake was made, too much dressing for too little salad. but the flavor combinations were spot on, presentation nice and the larger chunks of ham a nice savory counterbalance to the bibb lettuce. these were no bacon bits!
the pork belly sliders weregoodand nicely presented, but the aoli was overpowering the taste of the pork. the pimentos seemed superfluous and only for color, though a nice pickled item can really bring out a great counter to pork belly. also, they were overly greasy, though this is minor, as it is hard to perfect pork belly without this. the cuts could have been better and perhaps thinner, but as a whole it was a very tasty dish.
lettuce wraps were also nice, but left no fire or lingering enjoyable taste, they were eatin and gone with a whisper.

i really enjoy the atmosphere, its clean, perfectly lit for a nice pub, aesthetically pleasing and wednesday night trivia is always a hoot.

i would definitely recommend this to others and say that with a small bit of work they could be an excellent gastropub.

first class pub!. during a recent night out, we forayed to the holy grail pub for our first time.
dim lighting, soccer game on the television in the corner, large wood tables, and a duo performing a variety of folk/rock on acoustic guitar.
the beer list was impressive and sophisticated, and i was pleasantly surprised to see bottles of dogfish head 120 and even a flemish sour (duchesse de burgogne) on draft!
the crowd picked up as the evening drew on, but it was a civil group - no obnoxious, screaming drunks.
we were fortunate to meet the owner that night... brian was very pleasant and extremely knowledgable as we discussed interesting beers with him.
the food was moderately priced, around $12 for a large plate of verygoodfish and chips. the burger looked delicious, and i look forward to sampling other items in future trips.
the grail hosts a monthly food/beer pairing with a full course meal and a beer-theme.
they're open late (2am) and serve weekend brunch, too.
will definitely be returning often.
