holy grail is a trendy bar trying to disquise itself as a dive bar. this isn't a bad thing though in a sick way i like the deception. it's dark, small and crowded making it feel divey but thebeerselection is on par with the best. i went add with thebeeroptions, i couldn't pick for the longest time and eventually discussed my options with waiter and decided upon an ipa. besides thebeerthey offer a food menu as well that also is disguised as divey but turns out as another falsity because the food is actually pretty good. i ordered the bacon quacamole burger and it was cooked medium with plenty of juice and flavor. a popular place for a reason, kudos holy grail.

brew ha. looking for great food andbeerto match, this is the place. great selection of beers and super food to to go with what ever style of brew you like. the braised pork sliders make my day. the food is creative, not just a bar grill. i enjoy stouts and there are several to choose from. if you enjoy discussing craft beers the staff has plenty of cool trivia and facts. the atmosphere is kicked back, and what a pub should feel like. so if you can't be in durango colorado and your stuck in texas this is the place for you. i dare say even worth the drive to plano.

really is best bar food. 12/3/13 update: i have been back three times since my original review. i love this place. their menu will change. the dessert changes daily weekly. we had snicker's cheesecake a few weeks back. last night it was pumpkin cheesecake. both were awesome. the food is so good. recent orders have been brisket chili frito pie (great), gravy fries (yum), shepard's pie, brisket melt, and tomato soup w/ grilled cheese. we have yet to have anything where we said, "no thanks." the chef changes the menu and does a really good job.

original review: there is a sign on the wall that says best bar food 2012. it truly is. i finally asked why the bar food was so good. they said they had a real chef who prepares fresh ingredients each day. it shows. the place itself is a heavy wood bar with stool seating. there is a full menu ofbeerchoices.

while i like the beer, we come for the food. the fried goat cheese is creamy and wonderful. the fresh cut gravy fries are well done. there is not too much gravy that you cannot still pick at it with your fingers, but forks work best. the grilled steak shepard's pie is very good. two of us ordered it. the blackened fish taco received great reviews from one person in our group. the real highlight at holy grail is the burger. they are spectacular. the blue cheese and caramelized pear burger is top notch. the pear was an unexpected pleasure. we have stolen the idea and now make pear burgers at home. to finish the night, we had the snicker's cheesecake. the snicker flavor came through in each bite and mixed with the creamcheese. very good.

we have yet to have anything at holy grail that is anything less than good. most is great!

best bar in the northern suburbs. i absolutely love this bar. amazingbeertap selection, delicious food, and great atmosphere that actually encourages you to talk to the people you're with (i'm looking at you overly loud bars like the old monk and trinity hall). i live in flower mound, but am almost always willing to drive the 20 minutes on a friday or saturday night. though if they wanted to open another holy grail in flower mound, that would be pretty awesome... *ahem*

surprisingly good food. along with the greatbeerselection, the food is not your normal bar food. i have tried the monte cristo, the basil tomato soup with grilled cheese as well as the cheese platter. everything that i have tried so far has been great. my boyfriend has also tried the pork sliders and really enjoyed them. each time i have gone in, the staff has been nice and the bartenders are knowledgeable. i'm not the biggestbeerconnoisseur so they helped me out! as for the atmosphere, its small but charming. you can definitely carry on a conversation with the people you came with as opposed to other pubs in frisco. if you like goodbeerand good food, try it out!

can't go wrong .... a great find in the north tier of the dfw metroplex. the staff are knowledgeable and friendly, with a head chef who makes "fat-kid food" to go with a great selection of distinctive beers. non-smoking inside so you can enjoy your food and drink without nicotine additives. can get loud in the evenings, especially on weekends, but lunch or brunch are great times to visit.

recommended ... everything on the menu. personal favorites are the rich and spicy tomato basil soup with chewy grilled cheese bites on the side, as well as the heart-attack inducing brisket melt and pulled pork melt. burgers are excellent, and the french fries, either with or without spicy brown gravy, are always crispy and flavorful with skin on and sea salt. get the staff recommendations forbeerto go with each dish - there's always something new and unique to try.

brunch is a highlight on weekends - phenomenal fried chicken with habanero butter and a waffle, and the brisket hash with skillet potatoes is a hands-down winner. hard to beat a giant plate of breakfast with award-winning beer.

plan to spend a couple of hours if you can so that you can sample a few beers without incapacitating yourself. leave room for the coffee and doughnuts dessert - powdered-sugar coated doughnut holes and a cup of espresso mouse topped with whipped cream.

fledgling gastropub.beerselection is commendable and honor all types of tastes.
old rasputin stout was an enjoyable experience, velvet dark chocolate and wonderful. small glass, but it will ast you.
jack daniels single barrel is always good, and it was a hefty portion and well iced.
food was good (not great). i only say not great however because it could be great. the ingredients were fresh and that is the best way to start. the salad was lovely, but a common mistake was made, too much dressing for too little salad. but the flavor combinations were spot on, presentation nice and the larger chunks of ham a nice savory counterbalance to the bibb lettuce. these were no bacon bits!
the pork belly sliders were good and nicely presented, but the aoli was overpowering the taste of the pork. the pimentos seemed superfluous and only for color, though a nice pickled item can really bring out a great counter to pork belly. also, they were overly greasy, though this is minor, as it is hard to perfect pork belly without this. the cuts could have been better and perhaps thinner, but as a whole it was a very tasty dish.
lettuce wraps were also nice, but left no fire or lingering enjoyable taste, they were eatin and gone with a whisper.

i really enjoy the atmosphere, its clean, perfectly lit for a nice pub, aesthetically pleasing and wednesday night trivia is always a hoot.

i would definitely recommend this to others and say that with a small bit of work they could be an excellent gastropub.

i tried another "pub" tonight and realize why i keep coming back to the holy grail. the service is great. the girls are cute. the servers and bar staff are very knowledgeable. they have the bestbeerselection in the area with new seasonal stuff available all of the time. and by the way, the food is outstanding. best burgers in plano/frisco area. after tonight, i've sworn off all other "pubs" in the area and will only go to the holy grail. it's simply the best.
