first time visit - feels like i've been before. i've been wanting german food for awhile and in indy you have only three options, and none of them are really spectacular.
i visited this at the suggestion of the client i've been working with this week. and the hotel had a free coupon for a beer with dinner.
normally i'm not a fan of beer, even more so of the darker beers, but i was very surprised with howgoodthe beer was. it wasn't thick and was just a little sweet. all and all it wasgoodenough for me to order the bigger glass. halfway through i was debating if i should have gotten one in das boot.
the meal was traditional and very good, even if i didn't eat the saurkrat.

the thing that made it feel like i've been here before is it feels very much like a traditional duestchland hofbrauhaus, even down to the sitting next to random strangers at a random table.
the music was loud and very traditional, and it was entertaining to watch the trumpet player climbing onto tables and tooting his horn.

i'd recommend at least a singular visit if you come, i know next time in vegas i will probably be back.

delicious and so much fun! we ordered jagerschnitzel with spaetzle and nuremberger platter! could have licked the plates. portions were so large we had no room for dessert! ambiance is lively and fun. took a few minutes to get our order in but our server was attentive and friendly. we are big fans ofgoodservice and we were very satisfied. going back before we leave town. might be agoodidea to make a reservation--we didn't but there were only two in our party and we only had to wait 15-20 minutes. wunderbar!

great all-around experience. the bad - slightly americanized version of the real deal. in their defense, you can't get every ingredient needed for the real deal in america.

thegood- fantastic overall experience. asgoodas you can get stateside. genuine german cover band. food prepared as close as you can get here. phenomenal beer. authentic atmosphere.

hofbrau and excellent german food on tap. recently while in las vegas to attend the 2010 sema convention we were afforded the opportunity to visit the hofbrauhaus for lunch...an excellently tasty decision in food and libation if ever we had one while toiling arduously in the desert paradise. one of those iconic german breweries hofbrau is a favorite for any beer drinker either a fan of oktoberfest or the heffeweizen...something that the hofbrauhaus delivers on-tap...epic. the food here is also top notch easily competing with any of the "authentic" german restaurants i have sampled in florida. on this occasion i opted to try the münchner schweinebraten, essentially a munich pork roast served with cooked carrots and a breaded dumpling...and covered in a beer infused brown gravy: excellence on a plate. the menu is diverse and everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals and beers of choice, making this place a definite revisit for next year. well appointed and mostly authentic to it's german roots, particularly by vegas standards this eatery and biergarten provides a terrific environment with which to escape vegas and enjoy a filling meal, goodbeer and conversation with friends. well recommended.

awesome experience. great place to go and get a different vegas experience. everyone there seems to be having a great time, as did we. they put us a table with two random guys who turned out to be pretty damn fun to hang out with. and of course the beer is delicious. the wait staff is also verygoodand friendly.

just terrible service!. i had went to this place twice. the food isgoodthis i know by the first time when i went there for thanksgiving dinner. the second time was just plain terrible. we waited and waited and waited and this was not even a major holiday. i finally went and asked the girl when we would be able to get a seat. she acted like i was bothering her. she rudely told me i might as well have a drink at the bar as it was going to be awhile. she then went back to talking with her co worker. it was after that i will never visit this place again. they lost a customer that day. it is like i mentioned before the food wasgoodnothing extrordinary. just basic tourist faregoodbut could be better.

meetup at #ces w/@urbanspoon @hofbrauhauslv http://twitpic.com/xfll3

this was my 1st time here but i've heard alot ofgoodthings about it especially oktoberfest!!

i haven't been here before because i'm not real familiar with german/bavarian food..i mean i love their chocolate cake but i know nothing else they make

this place is mistakenly believed to be a german establishment but their website & twitter say its a bavarian/german hybrid. what the difference is you'll have to wikipedia that sh#*.

the meetup was scheduled to be from 11-12 and of course i showed up a little late so i wouldn't be the 1st one but not only was i the 1st one.

the restaurant has a gift shop when you enter then a large beer hall with wood tables and benches with arched painted ceilings a stage for the band and all the staff dressed in authentic garb. ever a beer wench:)

the folks from @urbanspoon were quite gracious and provided a spread of pretzels and sausages to eat. the pretzels has sweet or spicy mustard and a pimento-like spread to dip.

the assortment of brats and sausages was not on the menu so we got to try alot of different ones.

the food wasgoodi liked the pretzel & the meat wasgoodbut nothing really jumped out at me. definitely not a fan of vienna sausage.

looking at the menu they have more than sausages. also pork, chicken a few steaks and of course black forest chocolate cake:)

prices are under $20 an entree.

gott ich liebe diesen ort. "god i love this place" :what can i say, the food, the atmosphere, the beer, the music, the jager.....it's all sogoodhere.

one of my all time favorite places to eat. i've celebrated my last two birthdays here. when i'm in town i always set aside some time for a trip here.

on saturdays they have one of my favorite meals: frische schweins haxen

translation: crispy pork shank...which is served with sauerkraut, hb-dark beer gravy, bread & potato dumpling add in a stein of hefeweizen and you will be in heaven.

if this doesn't work for you there are plenty of great german/bavarian selections to pick from, and if you have someone in your party that's a little finicky, its ok there are a few chicken dishes which should suit them just fine.

the main room is boisterous and it's where the band is located. loud and fun with people singing along and engaging the band in various challenges.....

if the main room is too much for you they have a beer garden which is a a more reserved area but an equally enjoyable experience.

in the beer garden you won't be challenged by a member of the band to stand on your table and drink your entire beer but you could still end up being paddled by one of the jager girls.

if you're in vegas and don't check this place out you're missing out, take a break from the video poker and drop in for an evening.
