good burgers. anytime we head home to visit family the kids beg for hodads. it's a pain to wait in that longlinewhen the ocean beckons but ultimately it's worth it. juicy burgers with thick bacon on it is my ob siren song.

what i can say?. that hasn't been said about hodad's for years! the best burger ever. if you are an eater, i recommend the double bacon cheeseburger basket (with onion rings). you may not need to eat for a week.

drove by and saw thelinewaiting for it to open (sign of a great place!) so we had to stop. perfect decor and skilled staff. double burgers are gigantic but awesome and milkshakes are old school. guido burger and onion rings..can’t go wrong! they keep it simple..definitely check it out..everyone in the restaurant was smiling and laughing! good vibe!

we arrived around 11:30 am and stood in line. there seems to always be alinebut thatlinegoes down quickly.
i got the guido burger and people got the vegan burger.  i also ordered the fries.
it was a good burger. a tad heavy on the ketchup for me but i never use that, so.
fries were done up nicely as well.

excellent food, feel, and service. thelinewent down the block but it was so quick to get in. well worth it and not expensive at all. you have to go here!

worth the wait. ok thelineis long but why do you think. the food is great and the service is beyond good. the burgers are worth the sore legs i got from standing in line. the onion rings are some of the best i've ever had.

interesting experience. thelinewas insanely long but well worth the wait. the burgers were huge (i only had a mini burger) and we shared an order of frings between four of us and were barely able to finish it. at another table there was a group of 4 people (i assumed they were a family with 2 young children), the man in the group accidentally dropped the young boys milkshake on the floor and the waiter got him a new one (he did say that it was on the house). amazing but fast service. the decor is unique. i thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to go back when i go back to san diego next time.

i haven’t been to hodad’s in forever. the last time i went was when alyssa (my good friend and long ago writer for this blog) actually lived here, and it’s been many moons since she moved away. i remember we sat in the “van” seat and felt like we were in our own bubble away from the rest of the crowd. i’ve been wanting to revisit it lately and already had a failed attempt at going to the downtown location. after some suggestions from fellow bloggers, jake, t and i visited late on a tuesday evening and found easy parking, nolineand quick seating. success! [ license plates and dollar bills adorn the walls ] hodad’s walls are lined with old license plates and signed dollar bills. we spent a few amusing moments trying to figure out what some of the license plates meant while we waited for our food to arrive. went about 2 on a thursday, shortlinebut we were seated in about 10 minutes. food came out super fast. the onion rings are the best, the rest i give a big b. loud but a place to try.

longlineto get a table, but you can also get it to go and bypass the line. close to the beach so get it to go and then find a place to watch the waves and the sunset.

there is a never endinglineto get into this place! thankfully the food is sooooo freakin' worth it. the service was great, the music was awesome and the portions - huge. if you go with a group, order a burger each and one side of fries, onion rings or frings (both). it is plenty of food for at least 4 people.

definitely one of my top 5 favorite restaurant. it was love at first bite for me. its one of those "treat yourself" place. once a month for me that it :d they have a good variety of beer and their shakes are over the top for all the sweet tooths out there. fresh cut fries, gigantic juicy onion rings or if u plan on gaining weight, get the frings and pair it with their mouth watering double bacon cheese burger.

biggest burger i ever seen. ate there while on vacation in san diego, heard all about it and had to go. had to wait inlinefor only about 20-30 mins, food was great, the double cheeseburger was so big couldn't get my mouth around it, the milkshakes were huge too, worth the wait, service was good too, will eat there again next trip

young & casual. waitlinelooked intimidating but we only waited about 10 minutes. cheeseburger wasn't the best i've ever had but it was good. atmosphere was beach meets, biker meets rocker meets tourist spot.
