great burgers. my wife and i went in an expected a great burger, hodad's did not disappoint, love that it's made yto order, huge, we took half of one home, if we didn't live in carlsbad we'd be there all the time!

omg. this was an awesome trip! i was visiting my brother who lives in sd and he took me here. right down the street from the beach....good food!!!! service was even great and it was busy!!!! they automatically bring you ranch with the onion rings, which are amazing!! the burger was delicious!!! i will go back when i am back in sd!!!

great burger!. went here on vacation and totally enjoyed the burger and the atmosphere. a must do if you are in san diego! a double cheese burger will feed a small village and the "frings" plate will fill up anyones bottomless pit. great food, good prices, and very big portions. love it!

biggest burger i ever seen. ate there while on vacation in san diego, heard all about it and had to go. had to wait in line for only about 20-30 mins, food was great, the double cheeseburger was so big couldn't get my mouth around it, the milkshakes were huge too, worth the wait, service was good too, will eat there again next trip

if you get the chance to get out to ob for a visit, you've got to stop at hodads and try their bacon burger... oh my god, they boil bacon into a patty, and then fry it, then put it on top of your burger... oh my god... i'm going right now...

the food is absolutely amazing! the single bacon cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and strawberry shake were all tasty and super delicious

the drunk, combative homeless couple camped by the 10th avenue side of the new hodad's downtown painted a different kind of local color than that seen through the rose-colored glasses of enthusiasts of the original joint in ocean beach.

food is excellent if you can wait for the service. if u get a chance to get the short plump guy or the real skinny girl they seemed to have a grip on their job. the others just seem to be lost an will only frustrate you. once again food is excellent!

young & casual. wait line looked intimidating but we only waited about 10 minutes. cheeseburger wasn't the best i've ever had but it was good. atmosphere was beach meets, biker meets rocker meets tourist spot.

hodad milkshake brings all the boys (and girls) to the yard. i love their milkshakes and rings. i don't eat beef so i can't comment on their burgers but their chicken sandwich is rather tasty and a bit messy. it's not an everyday kind of place but something you need to go to at least once on a nice sunny day.

simple & yummy!. if you're looking for a great burger than this is a great place to go! the restaurant itself is pretty small inside but the service was good and the food didn't take too terribly long to come out given the fact that the place was insanely busy. expect a wait but it's worth it! milkshakes are great and the fries and onion rings basket can definitely be shared! very cool atmosphere. try to sit inside the sawed in half vw bus. =)
