hemingway's

it's more a pub than a restaurant, although they do have a dedicated sit-down section. i went with my friend recently. we had the spring roll for appetisers & beers to begin with. main course was ravioli & bangers'n'mash. on the whole, i liked the ambience & service. 
the food was not much to write home about. the spring roll was probably the better thing that evening, although i'm sure its procured readymade & frozen from outside. the ravioli itself was fine but the sauec was too tart / acidic, like plain tomato sauce. it lacked cooking and flavour. the sausages in the banger dish was unreasonably large. one of it was charred to the point of being burnt along one side. the mashed potato was smooth and buttery, though.
i might visit again for drinks. food? i don't think so!

this restaurant supposedly offer some tex mex dishes... we didn't enjoy it at all. food was bland, restaurant was too dark and drinks were not well mixed. the atmosphere is ok, more for drinks than for food

one of my favourite resturant's for more than 20 years for dinner and watching football games since they have more than 7 screens ... food is great especially fajitas, nachos, quasadias ....very friendly staff and very pleasant atmosphere, price is convenient 👍👍

me and my ladies really felt like chilling and getting some drinks and good food. so we decided hemingways , my friends said the food is good and its ladies night on thursday,definitely felt like a good deal. c
we reached there about 10 , the vibe was good .they were playing classic 90 songs , good memories rushed in . the ladies night drink were only gin and vodka,wished there were more options . whenever we did order drinks , it was served at least 10-15 mins late, the place was not jam packed for this delay. the management should find a solution to this .
now the food is the best part, we had a voucher so we went for chicken wings and jathans platter from the quick bites list. it was fresh and delicious.
in short a good venue to chill and relax.

hemingway's is my place whenever i would like to be by myself. the food serving is generously served. i had angus rib and it was cooked to perfection - as always. i often order this food as this one of the finest food they have.

my friends and i (4 of us) came here to watch the semi finals of euro 2016 (wales v portugal). as expected the place was packed as wimbledon was also on and of course it was eid!

since we came late, about halfway to the first half of the football, we couldn't get a seat anymore. this is why i will give the customer service 4/5. they managed to squeeze one table in one corner just to accommodate us. it wasn't bad at all as we still got a full view of 3 of their many televisions installed all over the bar.

we only ordered drinks which came after 10-15 mins. after the staff took our order.

it was our first time at this place and we intend to go back should we visit ad again.

having dined at hemingway's many times throughout the years, i've never been disappointed and their burger is my favourite thing on the menu - especially at lunch time! 
the other night, however, was the first time i benefitted from their ladies night that happens every tuesday, wednesday, thursday and friday from 8pm - 12am... (what?! i know!) and it was so worth it! the poland - portugal game was going on, and the vibe at hemingway's was perfect. with a great combination of avid fans watching the game displayed on multiple screens, as well as the little room with pool tables and dart boards - everyone's bound to have a good time! 
the manager, who recently moved from cooper's, was very inviting, and the waters always make sure that their customers are satisfied. as we were a big group of people, the staff made sure that we all had seats if we wished - joining tables and adding chairs and stools for us. service is wonderful - although the pub was full considering there was a game going on, there was never a time where i had to wait a long time to get a waiter's attention to order. ordering drinks at the bar as well was not a task, and the bartenders were quite attentive. 
definitely looking forward to the next time i visit hemingway's!

server was nice and that's only good thing i can say about the s place. caesar salad was very bland even with extra dressing. chicken fajita had absolutely nothing to do with real fajitas, was more of a sizzling sweet and sour chicken with lots of tomato sauce and hardly any veg. choice of music is a pure mystery for me, i'm guessing they trying to make guest ears bleed for some reason. never again and will strongly advice everyone from visiting it.

very nice place, cozy and fun same time... staff are good, service is not that bad (it could be better).food is delicious (for me & my friends) we had great time!band sometimes is great sometimes is a headache :)

the decor of this place is very old, however it does have a cozy pub feel. portions are huge so suggest you share! nothing above average but not terrible either.

hemingway's is just average in every possible way. it needs a bit of an update for the decor and seating set-up, and also for the menu and promotions. it's just gone a bit stale in the last 8 years.

i ordered the cajun wrap, which wasn't bad. it also had no hint of being cajun in any way. the steak inside was fresh, warm, and cooked nicely, it just didn't match what the menu said. sazzy saz order the chicken wrap which was supposed to include pesto and mozzarella, but actually was cold chicken without any sauce at all.

lovely ambience ... the place has a cozy feeling to it .. reminds you of an old house with big french windows ... ideal if u want to chat over drinks
service is very good

this place is much like the jazz bar, which is right next to this. but the main, and perhaps the only, difference between these two places is the crowd. the crowd inside jazz bar, which is further down this place, is much more vibrant and energetic, while the crowd here is more mellowed down and more serene.

the live band inside jazz bar makes the crowd become more energetic, making the entire atmosphere electric, while this place is more suited to nice conversations and intellectual discussions. this is also a good place to just retreat, watch a match on tv and listen to good music. a very good place to unwind...
