hash house a go go

i had to come and see what the fuss was about. i have heard of the huge portion size, but the food is touted as better than most. i am usually disappointed by places like this, but it really was good. i had the meatloaf, which was awesome. the pancakes are 18 inches across and the banana brown sugar is by far the best of those. biscuits are heavy and roughly the size of a softball. what surprised me most about hash wad the pricing. i swear i would spend more at denny's. awesome bang for your buck in the town that takes all your money. can't wait to come back and try some other entrees!

so so... it was okay, wasn't to die for- but it wasn't bad. had the chicken & waffles & it could've easily fed 2 ppl. the chicken was nice & juicy but the waffles were over cooked & bland. i wouldn't go out of my way just to eat here again. oh & expect long lines.

i would say meh. grossly overpriced like most things on strip. eggs were good. fried chicken is excellent. but the biscuits were horrible. being from va and living in nc, i am spoiled though. we know our biscuits and those at hash are awful.

resting on it laurels. this is a good concept for a restaurant. the staff is great and the menu has a large selection.
we just wanted this to be great but it wasn't. the bacon was cold and had been sitting for a while. chicken was dry and over cooked.
i had french toast and it was good, enjoyed the cooked bananas on top. we got the feeling that this location was not trying to achieve good tasting food. needs work on taste :(

bad location. set above the ugly, dirty, smokey quad casino, it's a maze to even find this place from parking, so be careful not to get lost. the quad is a nasty place. i'll never go here again. smoke wafts into the dining area. also, the late night cooks are not as good. i'll stick with the older locations off the strip where the cooks seem to have more experience.

good food in a dreary atmosphere. the food is good and pretty fairly priced..it is las vegas after all. but the atmosphere? really noticeable as a negative imho. yes, they do play games at the register when you arrive. if you are a single, they tell you there is a 40 minute wait when there are plenty of tables. they want you to sit at the bar on counter stools. so beware of their bulls--t and do what you think is best for you.

the portions are big. i had their waffle, eggs and meat special. i could not finish the waffle. it was good.

big portions, decent prices. this is what i think of when you eat american food. everything here is big portions, affordable priced and delicious.

we actually went two times while in vegas. the only thing i can complain about is on our second visit with 20 empty booths, we were told we had to sit at a table because nothing else was available... quite strange.

we ordered the mango/coconut pancake ($9) and the mushroom hash ( $11). both were quite good but the mushroom hash was nothing special. had no extra flavoring or anything. the buttermilk bun it came with was quite well prepared and was nice and moist.

the next visit we ordered the french toast ($10?) and meatloaf sandwich ($12). once again, they were enormous portions. both were really good. the meatloaf was a little under flavored for my opinion but the addition of mozzarella cheese to sandwich made it completely fine.

overall i would go back, it was really good and affordable priced for a place on the strip.

everyone must experience hash house a go go when they go to vegas. the largest portion sizes i have ever seen. service is terrible and the food is average, but you remember a lot by your food experiences, nobody remembers what color the comforter was in the hotel room!

have tried as a late night (breakfast before bed), traditional (before work) breakfast and as a hangover cure. works in every circumstance. huge portions so skipping lunch later is no problem. cheap beer ($1.75) is hidden on their menu if you need to kick start your day.

for breakfast on the following day, we went to hash house a go go in the quad casino on the strip. we were all checking out the menu and somehow decided to go with variations of the farm benedicts. first off, these things are

great size food portions, food was hot and fresh and the service was freat. i definitely will visit again.

excellent!. we were recommended this place by friends and it did not disappoint! our server did as good a job as you should expect. fast, courteous. we expected good food and good service from las vegas and we got both here! highly recommended!

i thought the food was good, but like the more recent reviews the service was lacking. our server was not attentive and there was a wait even though there were many open tables. there was a sewer smell in the waiting area, but it was not in the seating area. we were told that it had to do with renovations. venture at your own risk.

we were excited about eating here when we finally arrived through all the construction there were multiple tables open but we still had a 10 minute wait. the hostess was rude and was sure to finish her conversation with her friend before waiting on us. when we sat down the menu looked good and we ordered pretty quickly. we were told that food would arrive at different times because they didn't have heat lamps and they wanted it out hot. that was fine. but 20 minutes after my husband received his food, i received another menu, i was told our waitress knew they were out of what ordered she thought maybe they would get it. my husbands food was okay. service was terrible. do not recommend.

nope!!. loud, terrible service, and just "ok" food. but if that still doesn't stop you, and you're into ginormous portions, you'll be in for a treat because they serve plates the size of your kitchen sink! of course, a huge plate of mediocre food doesn't turn me on, so i'll stick with smaller plates served up by attentive wait staff at another establishment.
