finally, something "uptown" in sw clt!. i live in steele creek, but i admit... i am one to drive out of my neighborhood for somegoodfood and drink (ie- southend, dilworth, uptown).

finally, something in my backyard that accomplishes that "uptown" feel, without breaking the bank. the bartenders are friendly; the pours generous. the food (from what i've had so far) is great. can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu and come back for a john daly or two (or 5).

edit: this place continues to deliver! whether your choice is a "burger of the day" or a filet, harry's delivers a delicious, consistent product with great service to match. looks like they have a solid crowd, which is good- i want to see these guys do well so i can keep coming back!

clean nice environment. nice hostess, quick service.goodservice. still trying to decide if unlike the jicama pear slaw. balsamic vinaigrette a bit too acidic. could use a milder vinegar.

best spot in steele creek!. i have been to harry's several times since oct 2013....each time a great experience. bartenders/staff are friendly...feels like a true "neighborhood" bar/grill. nice local beer selection and cocktails. atmosphere is inviting and relaxing....no loud music so you can carry on a conversation ....has "uptown" feel, but very laid back - not at all pretentious. every food item on the menu i have tried has been excellent! crab cake (and i'm picky about crab cakes!), sweet potato fries, lobster mac all great. the other day i had the sliders, jicama slaw, roasted brussel sprouts & duck wings...all were amazing. i could live on those brussel sprouts.
love this place and that they're in my neighborhood!! will keep supporting because i'd really like them to stick around and thrive. keep up thegoodwork harry's!

for the location and quality bar food, which is better than typical ..goodcrowd bettrr than wild wings if you are in mood to chill

perfect!. this restaurant/bar is absolutelutely, positively perfect! i can't say enoughgoodthings about how fantastic our meals and drinks were. i went with my wife and two friends of ours last thursday night, we were all very impressed by the quality of the food, and the wait staff. i had the shrimp and andouille sausage pasta, it was delicious, my wife had the surf and turf and said the crab cake was the best she had ever had. our friends were equally impressed, we all plan on returning to this restaurant very soon.

harry's is exactly what southwest charlotte needs nice variety ofgoodsolid american dishes, interesting small plates, and a groundbreaking top shelf burger local beers and desserts round out the menu nicely i love my little neighborhood...but a dining mecca it is not. if you live in the steele creek area, you feel my pain. while there are plenty of casual options (think chain restaurants and bbq), there's nothing great on the higher-end of the dining spectrum...until now. harry's grill and tavern opened in march, and i have to say i was ecstatic to welcome them to the 'hood. per the website, harry's is "reminiscent of one of new york city's finest gastro-pubs." the menu is mostly classic american, and offers a selection of hot and chilled small plates along with a traditional full menu. interesting menu fact: harry's has recently developed a "top shelf" burger, which is made with lafrieda beef. as in, pat lafrieda the nyc "meat magician" whose show, meat me

good new restaurant. harry's is very close to where i work and i have been for both lunch and dinner. the prices are a bit high for lunch in ayrsley, but the food is usually very good. the cobb salad ($9) is excellent and agoodsize. i do wish there were a few more lighter lunch selections.

as other reviewers have noted, the crab cake is excellent, but warning: the small plate crab cake and the crab cake sandwich are the exact same price ($13), but the crab cake in the sandwich is nearly twice the size and comes with fries and our waitress had absolutely no explanation for this. the small plate crab cake is not nearly enough food for a meal.

the filet sandwich is terrific and so are the sweet potato fries. regular fries are good. the cheese small plate was a bit dull - three fairly small pieces of cheese, and the flavor choices weren't popular with my group. the waitress could only identify one of the cheeses -- after checking with the kitchen, she was able to name one more. the third remains a mystery, but it is a very new restaurant and a very new staff .... these things will work themselves out if the restaurant can stick out its growing pains.

the drink menu doesn't list prices, so you may want to ask if you are on a budget. we were a bit surprised to learn when the bill came that my martini was $8 but my friend's glass of pinot was $9.

harry's is great!. we have had dinner there twice and were very pleased both times. the lobster mac and cheese is the bomb! over all nice place to hang out at and enjoy conversation. the drink prices are verygoodand food is very reasonably priced. it is a gem to add to the area!!!

delish!. friendly service, nice ambience and delicious food. we will definitely visit often. so nice to have agooddining experience before or after going to the movie theater across the way.
