hannys, hannys, hannys aren't you glad i said hannys? i love this place, this is the place that makes what you call living in phoenix a dream. it's what all city's need at night. you walk in, you wait to be seated and what do you see wonderful service, people in classic white restaurant attire it's very classic. you get more of a new york or downtown la feel with the dim lights and live dj spinning above you. it has a clean and simple menu, one for drinks one for food! what you should expect is that it's very good in its portions. a personalpizzais good for two unless your greedy, then get one for yourself! awesome sandwich choices and if you still are indecisive get one of each, like apizzaand an appetizer or a sandwich or an appetizer! bring friends the more the merrier or sit at the bar either way is the cool way to go. i personally love theirpizzaand you have no wrong way of choosing definitely tho, try the onion strings so good! i always try to stop by for a martini too, the drinks are fantastic! overall enjoy! and keep staying hungry phoenix!

i love me some late night eats at hanny's. i frequent here often because it is located in the heart of downtown phoenix and opens pretty late. the restaurant itself is housed in an old international style building (built in the 40's) that used to be a department store. i love ambiance of the bar area and it even has a meat slicer present to slice up some thin slices of prosciutto. some of my favorites are the porchetta, giardiniera & rossa bianco pizzas. check out sunday nights for $10pizzanights and drink specials. make sure you check out the basement area and get a look at the creepy dolls on display.

my #1 place to go in downtown phx! the vibe is stylish and sexy, feels like your in the big city :) the cocktails are perfection!!pizzais always great! plus one of the only places  you can get absinthe and they serve it right!

the environment at hanny's is great. thepizzais delicious. when i eatpizzahere it's pretty much guilt free, i don't fee like i'm over eating!

there are better places to eat. my husband and i wanted to try hanny's after seeing a review of the restaurant and food on "check please, arizona". the description of the food and showing of the plates of food looked great and huge portions ........that is until i ordered the exact same thing at the restaurant. very disappointing. the roast beef sandwich was not nearly as big as it was shown on "check please arizona". it was squished down . i got the 1/2 order of onion strings which were okay and half order of the gorgonzola slaw salad which was not crisp and cold but warm and soggy . there was no flavor to the food which was quite bland and very disappointing. my husband ordered the americanopizzawhich i will say was a hearty size but again no flavor and douced with onions and tons of mushrooms but very little if any sausage. his martini was quite small as was my wine pour. the atmosphere was nice and so the dj music mix. i know we won''t be going back again. there are places that are much better.in town.

sub-par by far. hanny's appeared hip new and refreshing from the outside and first walking inside. my friend and i stood un-welcomed in the lobby and were finally rushed to a dirty table after awkwardly standing and waiting.
i observed other puzzled patrons looking for the waiter or waitress. i literally looked over the menu several times until we were asked for our drink selection. no introduction, i felt rushed and ordered the "moscow mule". this drink is a mixture of vodka, ginger beer and cucumber slices. our drinks came, all be it after my food arrived. the drink was small and any drink that takes 20 minutes is not worth it. the selection of food is limited to pizza, sandwiches, appetizers and salads. the americanopizzaprovided a healthy portion of ground sausage, onions and mushrooms on top of a light flaky crust. thepizzawas good and i liked what i believe was a whole wheat crust. with times like this and people reeling back on extra spending i feel like service should be top notch. i'm not hard to impress or satisfy, but if i'm going to spend my hard earned money at your establishment i expect my drink to come before my entree. circumstances do arise and things happen beyond our control. is it too much to get an apology when these things affect how your customers? i don't think so. i won't be heading back to hanny's anytime soon.

service great, food and wine bad. the service was very helpful and friendly, but thepizzaand salad were bad. even the merlot was not good but the cabernet was passable. the decor was too cold and stark for me - it felt like i was waiting at a station! what's with the elevator...don't look down. if you are desparate for vino before the opera, then ok, but don't eat.

forget eating at the bar!. we went there two hours before a sold out concert, so they were slammed, but it got to be a joke. we sat at the bar to get faster service and immediately ordered a bruschetta and two drinks. the drinks showed up, but no bruschetta. we saw that things were piling up, so we shortly thereafter ordered a carafe of wine and a pizza.pizzatook forever and the bruschetta never did come. when i was done with the drink, another appeared without me asking for it. same with a glass of wine. bartender just running up the bill. when bill came, had to get them to take the bruschetta off and all the extra drink and wine was on there as well. the place is disorganized around the bar, food takes too long, bartenders overwhelmed in busy times.

new life in downtown. this place has a relaxing atmosphere that feels modern in a vintage way. the old department store has been turned into a spacious spot for greatpizzaand a good time.

great food!!! a unique bar / restirant. the building used to be an old department store. it even has the original floor from the 60's. greatpizzaand salad. very reasonably priced.

great for people watching .. none too shabbypizzaand wine either!. i had an opportunity to grabpizzaand wine here recently with a good friend of mine. there aren't too many spots in downtown phoenix within walking distance of evening events that also stay open that late and this is definitely one of the nicer and more lively ones.

fresh and light ambience to the place and good set of people to chat to or just to people watch.

give the elevator shaft a try but not after you've had a really heavypizzanor too much wine!

hanny's for lunch.... awesome. in the heart of downtown phoenix in a renovated department store. the atmosphere is great, service was great, and the food was excellent.

the menu is small -pizza- salads - sandwiches. the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer is outstanding. i had the roast beef sandwich. all very good. if you are looking to have a cocktail at lunch they have a drink menu that is very reasonably priced.

highly recommend this place.
