o. nussbaum. my family and i had one of the best dining experiences we have ever encountered. we were celebrating a special occasion, our son's graduation from the citadel. beginning with the courteous phone reservation to the warm goodbye we received as we were leaving. the atmosphere, food, service, music and decor were all so delightful. you're made to feel like a welcomed friend. the hall family has mastered the art of gracious dining.

pretty good. been a few times and the food has gotten better each time. the service is very friendly but not quite up to par with the prices of the menu. relaxed and casual environment makes for a fun night here.

the steak was good but nothing special. we didn't enjoyed the service. the sides were very good but not included it with the $60 main plate!

this place is amazing!!! my wife and i went here for our 2nd anniversary and we both have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. the staff are very welcoming and the owners are extremely nice. the food was some of the best that we have ever had! for a special occasion this is the place to go!

high end dining with great service and wonderful steaks. very good bar and wine selection. seating is a little tight but a more than decent dining venue.

so disappointed!!! my husband and i planned to come here for our 1st wedding anniversary and were very excited . the night before we decided to go in and have some drinks and check it out and thank god we did. all these reviews about service and ours was terrible. after being shoved at the end of someone else table we waited over 30 mins in which no one even came and asked us if we wanted drinks . if was only after we got up to leave that they asked us if we wanted something to drink! um no and we will never ever be back. i will never recommend halls to anyone and what a shame as we were highly looking forward to dining here ! there are so many other great restaurants in charleston, to be treated like that is completely unacceptable.

steak was good but not of cypress quality. the layered chocolate cake tasted like betty crocker which isn't bad but not what i'd want at a restaurant. also my water remained empty for most of the dinner.

i've been for dinner and not impressed. however, my husband and i went just for dessert and it blew us away. go for their whiskey bread pudding, it's amazing.

food was outstanding along with the the service. i would take all my out of town upscale foodies here!! the restaurant followed up with a hand written card thanking us for joining them. never experienced that before. kudos to the chophouse.

i don’t have any pictures at this time but i am definitely wondering why this restaurant is only rated a 3.9! my wife and i went there to celebrate buying our first home and i am telling you the experience was amazing. i have been in restaurants all over the world from kuwait to jamaica and this restaurant is right up there with the best. the hospitality, the ambience, the service and of course the food was amazing! if you want to spend a little extra for a great experience this is one restaurant that definitely recommend.

everything was great there, but the best part i must say, apart from the food, was the friendliness that the staff had towards the customer. top notch treatment, which we thoroughly appreciated, as did our out of town guests. cheesecake was stellar, chop salad also. lobster mac-n- cheese was mediocre to be honest. this place should not disappoint!!

if you want to splurge on a great steak, this is the place! by splurge, i mean expensive and upscale dinning. a la cart sides and a dry aged n.y. strip, fresh from chicago, will be in excess of $70. reasonable for a great steak, but a $9.00 potato?? fresh baked sourdough was fantastic. outstanding service was provided from a team of experienced servers who were very familiar with the different cuts of steak and their sides. sides are not skimpy and they do offer half sides where possible. ambience is exceptional and wait for the meals was not bad at all. reservations are required.

i made reservations for my boyfriends surprise birthday dinner on a wednesday. every year he wants the ice cream cake from baskin robbins. i picked it up with special candles and dropped it off at hall's the day before after being reassured the cake would be fine. we arrived the next day for our reservation and after we finished eating i asked the waiter to bring out the cake. he said something happened and the cake was being fixed. i wasn't told anything until i asked about it. when they came out with the cake the candles where arranged on three slices of cake from there and not the cake i bought. he doesn't even like cake. they brought out the melted disaster of a cake to us after. my boyfriend and i are extremely disappointed about the cake and lack of communication from hall's staff. i've left two messages for management and have not yet been called back. we have celebrated every birthday here until now.
