hall’s chophouse has been one of our downtown charleston faves ever since it opened.

this is a great place.. downtown in the historic district. not part of a chain/franchise but a real family operated high-end reataurant. the food and atmosphere are excellent and so is the service. i highly recommend it for steaks and seafood.

the favorite!. nightly hall's serves and experience not found elsewhere in the city. spot on service with first class food selections. very rarely do i find a place that seems both as welcoming during the first experience as it is for veterans.
looking for relaxed formal setting with service and culinary skill that never disappoints, halls should be first on your list.

...gravitate toward the dry-aged ribeye because it has the most flavor.

no. in all honesty, i cannot stand eating here. the steaks are very average and are extremely overrated by the staff, as well as overpriced. i didn't like how the owner literally stands in the middle of the restaurant to shake everyone's hand and introduce himself to everyone that walks in. it's unprofessional, unhygienic, and too casual for me. when i ate here, he asked me repeatedly how much i enjoyed my meal and i wanted him to stop. one checkup is okay, but not five. you can find much better steaks elsewhere, i promise.

halls chophouse. great family owned steakhouse with a metropolitan feel. the food and service they provide makes the difference. they make every customer feel like they are v.i.p. you get the feeling of being in a classic new york steakhouse but it has the charm of charleston's southern style. the meat was outstanding and stands the alone. the lobster macaroni and cheese is the is one of the best side dishes i have ever had. this place is a must see.

best steak house in charleston. service sets this place apart from every other restaurant in town. the food is consistently of the highest quality, which you would expect from a high-end steak house. the family of owners makes certain you feel welcome and that your business is appreciated.

a cut above.... bar at halls chophouse there is only one word that could describe our recent dining experience at halls chophouse - perfect! in an era where great service and unbelievable food seems hard to find, at halls chophouse it is plentiful. i must admit that i'm not a big red meat eater. even though we've walked by halls and have been intrigued, i haven't had the desire to eat there. let me say that those words are a thing of the past. invited by our friends dean and lisa for a birthday celebration, we were looking forward to trying it out. let me just say that halls chophouse exceeded our expectations. upon our arrival we were quickly greeted by a gentleman who not only shook our hands, offered to take our coats and offered to put the flowers that i was carrying into water (they were a gift). he also mentioned that he was billy hall and if there was anything that he could do for us during the evening, we should not hesitate to ask. since we were a tad early for our dinner rese

best steak i ever ate. four adults, three children and rave reviews at halls chophouse last night. i had a special dry-aged k.c. strip and it was the best steak i ever ate. ordered rare and got rare with a wonderful seared crunch on the outside. wow. the petite filet got rave reviews and the special bison filets (two ordered these) did too. chop salads all around were so tasty, sides of mac & cheese, creamed corn and spinach delicious. we'll definitely be back!

best steak in charleston. outstanding! by far, one of the best places to eat in town. the food is great. from the family style sides to the dry aged steaks, everything on the menu has been great on multiple visits. besides the food, the service is awesome. from the second you walk in the doors (where you will be likely met by tommy, bill or the rest of the hall family) to the minute you leave, hall's takes care of its customers like they are family. always inviting, attentive and eager to serve. hall's is a must for anyone seeking for a great dining experience in charleston.
