haagen dazs

weekday evening catchup meet with a friend. and to tell, the welcome into the parlor was lovely. we were directed to our seats and there came the usher with the cards. a bit expensive when compared to the popular chain of ice cream parlor in town, but at the first taste of ice cream we were like 'wow!'. the best ever thing, they don't mind giving samples to you. so you can take time, interact with your tastebuds and make the best selections. they have almost 12 sets of ice creams which i believe would be shuffled daily. the environment wasgoodand silent - and you would feel sogoodwith the silence and the soft music playing at a corner. they serve you with free water - and they almost understand the time you raise your hands and ask for water. without even asking, they come to the table with water and fill your hearts out. 

coming to the payment, i felt the money was worth every single rupee. you would never feel that your pocket is burnt. happily recommending this lovely parlor. you would never regret :)

it was weekend, my wife and i wanted to tastegoodice cream, we were in nugambakkam,  we went pass by haagen daz and so we stopped by this place to check it out, they have amazing interiors we wanted to try something simple as it was our first time and we wanted to take away.
we tried two different flavors belgian chocolate is a must try and a scoop of coffee. 
we just loved it ...we would be back for more  for sure, although this place is on the expensive side ...:-)

ambiance : this amazing dessert world is there right in the entrance of khader nawaz khan road, nungambakkam which houses lot other restaurants. ample parking space.goodfor family, couples and friends. you can stare at the captive pics in the menu and the display cozily to increase your appetite, while you actually wait for your order.

taste buddies: i am sure no body ll regret any order except the shakes and drinks. we started off with the mighty european fondue, which made us swim in the world of chocolate. your taste buds ll crave for the chocolate dip especially when you feel the crepe pieces melt and descend to your tummy. macarons were cloyingly sweet. after fondue, we conquered the brooklyn bridge. the chocolate suspensions were ravened within seconds. great combination with the delicious ice creams. the mango sorbet was nothing but a high priced maaza.

conspectus : if you are looking to spend extra bucks ( i mean extraaaa) for premium imported desserts, haagen dazs is the place. it is tremendously expensive but yeah once in a life time, you can spend that for an exotic ice cream feast :)

haagen dazs is an international ice cream brand. they are very expensive as they only import ice creams. so i always wanted to try this legendary ice cream brand. finally we made it. we were the only customers to them; it was 12:15am. yea while all the shops were closed in knk, nungambakkam. haagen dazs was alone open. so we quickly parked the car and went in.

we had a scoop of choco midnight cookie ice cream with cone chip as topping and real belgium hot chocolate. the one scoop was medium sized and not very small. it was bigger than what i expected and the cone chips can be named as sides instead of toppings. one the other hand the hot chocolate was served along with choco fudge. there was cream on top of it. the hot chocolate wasgoodand easily one of the best hot chocolates i have had in the 20years. i had to order choco midnight cookie flavor in ice cream because all the others were done. this didn’t taste bad. but i wanted to try the belgium chocolate. on my next visit i will be trying it along with the platter. people talk great about their platters.

ambience, since the restaurant was free it was all ours. we could sit anywhere as we lived. the decoration part is done well and the ambience is too cool. the lighting gives a royal look for the ice cream parlour. the sofas and the cushioned chairs give a comfortable seating. there is the wall poster of bradley cooper who is the brand ambassador of haagen dazs. also there is a tv which runs their ad in repeat mode.

cost, expensive is the only word i can use. the taxes they put for the ice cream. they say its 175 per scoop but it ends up at 240 per scoop. also the hot chocolate is 395 without tax. they put 20% tax on the whole. this makes them very expensive. this also makes haagen dazs to be visited only one special occasion.

service, they take care of their customers so well. it’s 12+am still they dogoodservice not like other places where in a hurry they push something to their customers. that’s somethinggoodabout their service.

parking, there is enough parking for cars and bikes in the front space.

my rating would be 4/5. (mainly because of the price they drop down.)

love this place as there are more dessert places coming up there should be something different and definitely taste better to stay top and this place definitely is by far the best dessert place and it has got all potentiality to stay top.. the ambience could have been more fancy and better it'sgoodthough everyone know the haagen dazs taste and the sorbetgoodtoo loved this place just a bit expensive as there are some other places close by..which serves same kinda desserts which is relatively cheaper.. a must visit to indulge yourself into creamie whoopie goodness

lovely place ... loved the servings and varieties.goodplace to munch on for dessert. i would definitely wanna try that titanic shaped ice cream.

fabulous place for ice creams,  

visited d place with bunch of besties, the ambience wasgoodand a excellent service, we ordered four varieties  belgian waffle dream , banana caramel crepe , brooklyn bridge , classic fondue, 

the classic fondue was so pleasant and vibrant the presentation was heavenly, the taste were more appealing than the presentation. its a total package that one can ever have fruits in it were fresh and juicy, the ice-creams and cookies were out of the world. yummyyy.

brooklyn bridge was a awesome creation, it was made so delicate,  such a pity to eat away such a well presented dish :-). the chocolate and strawberry ice cream had  a wonderful flavour to it with the mango sauce and strawberries . it was punchy and one of the best dessert i have had so far.

belgian waffle dream : the ice cream with the waffle was pretty amazing, i had my tummy filled out by the fondue, just look a nib of it, there was nothing to complain. 

banana caramel crepe : it was delicious as other dishes, 

haagen-daz is a place where you get the best dessert's in chennai, only concern is the price, which is pretty high.

a day to remember, best way to get high with desserts.

presentation is on point. a lot of different flavors but the scoops could be bigger... not really worth for the price, really small in size compared to others.goodservice (y)

my most favorite place for desserts. theres literally nothing that doesn't tastegoodin here. love their waffles and their crepes and their milkshakes and their fondue!

this place is definitely one of the most expensive ice cream places in the city. they have agoodcollection of sundaes and fondues and a nice place to sit and spend the evening with your friends.

to be honest, i have not tried any of their signature dishes for i always end up here late at night after a heavy meal.

but considering that they use the normal ice cream listed in the menu as the base for their signature dishes, i don't think i have missed much.

the ice creams are alright and if you find yourself in nungambakkam craving ice creams after agoodmeal, this might be the place. but for desserts, i would prefer a place with more options. the pricing seems to be way off the target.

as a self proclaimed connoisseur of all things ice cream, a trip to haagen dazs in chennai was long overdue.

located in the central foodie district of chennai, aka khader nawaz khan road, the outlet very much lives up to the image of gourmet ice cream dining. emboldened, we ordered the classic fondue for the two of us. we were rather disappointed that we couldn't choose the flavours of the scoops for the fondue, which is generally the case with similar menu items in other places. when it arrived, we faced an even bigger disappointment with the ridiculously small scoop sizes and the incredibly inconvenient vessel in which they were placed, which ensured more ice cream ended up in the space between the plates than in our bellies. the side accouterments to the ice cream weregoodbut nothing to write home about. perhaps this wasn't their strongest dish, but at this level you'd expect every dish make you go gaga over it. especially at the prices charged. sadly  that was not the case.

while there is little doubt that this brand is over-hyped, the taste and variety of ice cream served here does not live up to the hype. i have had tastier and far more exotic flavours at cream & fudge.

if i also consider gealto places like freezilicious & gelato italiano, haagen dazs is not even in the same league. if you wantgoodold fashioned ice creams, swensen's does it better. even packaged ice creams like london diary do a better job at making ice creams, when compared to haagen dazs.

so, yeah, this place is way over-priced, especially considering their attitude and poorly trained staff. and, yeah, their coffee is pretty average too.

this is my goto waffle place. the ice creams aregoodbut the place is pricey for what it offers. sandwiched between two premium ice cream parlours, the competition is a quite high, but haagen dazs has its own crowd since the brand is quite established internationally. but definitelygoodice creams overall. the hazelnut biscotti , the chocolates, the brittles and the strawberries cheesecakes are a must try. it's tue perfect night out desert experience .

a perfect place for desserts. this is just the kind of place if you are a dessert lover. although, it would empty your pockets but believe me it is totally worth. and since the outlet is in nungambakkam, you can choose to go for a lovely walk right after your desserts.

waffles, chocolate dip, best of the belgium chocolate icrecream would be my call. i would rate 4.5 for its quality.

perfect ambience for a peaceful sunday noon if you wish to spend some quality time with your loved ones. 4.5 on ambience.

i would say easily 2-2.5k for two persons.
