great place!. i'm just back from a great dinner at gypsy's! the manager was helpful since the beginning, on a busy saturday night still managed to give my partner and i a table. we decided to go for the 45$ unlimited buffet, and it was really worth it. food came up quickly and constantly till we couldn't possibly have more.
i can't understand why people complain about the size, which is a little silly considered that this is a tapas restaurant. it must be cause of the australian mentality regarding food, for which everything has to be big and full of sauce... i'm italian and i have travelled a lot to be extremely picky with the quality of food, rather than the quantity. tapas is for taste-lovers focused on the quality and the variety. perhaps 9 dollars a tapas is a little expensive, but people complaining about the 9 dollars are then happy to go and spend 30-35 for a main that 90% of the times includes a piece of fish or meat, chips and a simple garden salad. if you want to be full and please your tastebuds as much as you can, go for the buffet. if you want to drink and have some good finger food, then go à la carte.
our buffet included a good selection of different things, from prawns to figs with haloumi (yumm). i will definitely go back again.
