loved it - i'll be back again and again. i don't understand what these bad reviews are about.

we had the $45 banquet (why the racist comments about the gypsies giving you the cheapest? we had a huge variety). the food was wonderful and there was so much of it.

our booking was for the 6.30pm and at 8.45pm the waitress actually came and asked us if there are any other options we'd like to try from the menu or have again. we ordered more dishes, mulled wine (soooo good) then tea and coffee. we weren't rushed at all and they happily let us saunter out close to 10pm.

the mulled wine and sangria were the best. staff were attentive, polite, friendly and helpful. food was tasty and plentiful. atmosphere and music great. we had a table for 7 and we'll all definately be back again. i've already recommended it to more friends.

far too freo. we went to the gypsy tapas house last night and can honestly say we rushed our wine to try to escape as soon as we could. this never happens. the food wasn't bad but there was nothing that was memorable or tasty. the rabbit was a pile of bones, chicken dry and tasteless, ravioli bland and the majority was luke warm and meagrely sized. we chose not to go for the $45 banquet as suspected the gypsies would give us the cheapest.....and the sangria wouldn't be right either. but still, we will never be going back here again and would strongly advise you not to either. there are some far better options in fremantle and this place lets the side down. we were hungry when we left and went in search of more!!

great place!. i'm just back from a great dinner at gypsy's! the manager was helpful since the beginning, on a busy saturday night still managed to give my partner and i a table. we decided to go for the 45$ unlimited buffet, and it was really worth it. food came up quickly and constantly till we couldn't possibly have more.
i can't understand why people complain about the size, which is a little silly considered that this is a tapas restaurant. it must be cause of the australian mentality regarding food, for which everything has to be big and full of sauce... i'm italian and i have travelled a lot to be extremely picky with the quality of food, rather than the quantity. tapas is for taste-lovers focused on the quality and the variety. perhaps 9 dollars a tapas is a little expensive, but people complaining about the 9 dollars are then happy to go and spend 30-35 for a main that 90% of the times includes a piece of fish or meat, chips and a simple garden salad. if you want to be full and please your tastebuds as much as you can, go for the buffet. if you want to drink and have some good finger food, then go à la carte.

our buffet included a good selection of different things, from prawns to figs with haloumi (yumm). i will definitely go back again.

great little place...enjoying lunch on anzac day. they had a two-man jazz band playing in the courtyard. our favorite tapas: lamb kofta, jamaican pork, poached fig with haloumi, the chorizo. the most memorable moment: at 3pm, the band stopped playing. the trumpet player got up and walked out the restaurant and across the road to kings square to play the last post. whole restaurant went dead still and quiet. he returned to the restaurant with a round of applause.

no booking. though they fit us in, lovely atmosphere and the wait staff with their lovely accents were quick off the mark and the food was out in no time. the food was tasty and good value. we were seated outside and took in the atmosphere and the sounds of the musicians who had set up to play. will be going back.

wtf. why make a booking if you’re going to be kick of the table anyway??? we booked a table for friday night just gone! we were having a great time, till the bill was placed on our table at 7.30 and we had not asked for it. they had booked a second siting on our table for 8pm. we were not informed of this when making the booking and isn't the whole idea of tapas grazing all night, not you can only have a table for a little time. this was the rudest thing that has every happened in a perth restaurant... not impressed people!!!! if you don't mind being shoved out the door at the restaurants convenience and not your own, book here they will make you feel unwanted and still expect you to pay top dollar for it.....

as a long time lover of this place i was appaled to be told on a busy day that even with a booking that i would have to have the mystery menu at an extra cost. i agree its busy but telling me that its busy and the regulars don't count even when i booked specificity asking on this busy night will it be the normal menu! so i say avoid this place unless its a day when they need the business! if this is the kind of attitude you want then go to gypsy tap ass and enjoy!

some dishes were spot on but many seemed too small for the price (we tried 12 different dishes). not as good value as other tapas bars in perth. not bad...but can't say i'll be back soon.

don't bother. the food is over priced, tiny portions (i know its tapas but these took the p*ss!) and the boss was disgustingly rude. we had booked a table the previous day and were basically told by the owner that we were lying and they didn't have a table for us. we waited and they eventually seated us. we had the tapas samples - one of the dishes was just a plate of undressed rocket, another was just two white anchovy fillets!
it is a real shame because the situation is perfect and the bands are a massive bonus. however this does not make up for all the negatives!

on this friday night i felt like going to barcelona and enjoying music, tapas and wine from the catalan region. so i ventured to fremantle’s gypsy tapas, which provided all three. for $40 you can have all you can eat tapas for two hours. my group of four decided to opt for choosing from the menu and a bottle of red. i asked for a bottle of tempranillo (pronounced tempra -ni – yo courtesy of google) but they sold out and provided a lovely cabernet merlot instead. items ordered included broccoli, patata bravas, lamb koftas, baked feta, garlic chicken drumlets, artichoke dip (that ended up being hummus) and eggplant fritters. i was looking at the photos i took and ag
