great guy's po-boys and service!. i emailed this into smiley anders, the advocate: today at 10:33 am smiley, yesterday when i was in n'awlins, i got to check out a poboy shop that jamie, a colleague, had told me about: guy's poboys ( http://menuorleans.com/guys-po-boy) -on magazine between bellecastle and valmont - close to my old high school (de la salle). while i was unable to get my beloved fried oyster poboy there, i decided to try one of their special's for the day: alligator poboy, which was only $ 9.95 for large (foot long)! when i went to pay by credit, i was told that they only take cash there. since i only had two $ 5's and a little change, i told the check out guy that i'd downsize to the 1/2 foot for about $ 7.50, at which he took a $ 1 dollar bill out of the tip jar and said, "no problem, us 'guys's' got you covered!" he even gave me the change, which i, of course, put into the tip jar! what a delight it was later to chomp into that fully dressed alligator sausage poboy at an audubon park shelter adjacent to the lagoon nearby - right off of st. charles avenue and in view of my old alma mater, loyola university, and getting to enjoy the view and sounds of some streetcars that strolled by! i'm definitedly gonna send a belated real tip to that guy at guy's and want to spread the word out to others about anothergreat"naturally n'alins" place, as the late and beloved frank davis always noted; may he rest in peace - i'm sure god has him in charge of communication, cooking, fishing, etc! keith john paul horcasitas, lcsw, mha
