best seafood pasta in town!!!. if i could marry one of the chef's at gusto's i would!!!! this place has a nice view of the river, fantastic food and beautiful staff fresh from italy. so i go here once a month and i have a french martini with the linguine allo scoglio and the pear and rocket salad. this meal is so great that i almost have it everytime i go there and now the staff even know me and know what i have everytime. thats what you call great service with a smile!! so if you want to try a real italian restaurant thats ran by real italian's then this is the place for you, their english might not be 100% but thats the charming part of trying food from all around the world. enjoy!!

feels like fine dining to me?. great place. tried the margherita pizza at a few places from goldcoast to sunshine coast and never had one as good as from here. the flavours really come through in gianni's pizza. a bit pricey but i guess it's worth it since the waiters and waitresses were spot on with service. and they didn't mind having a quick laugh with me after my 3rd glass of wine...

very disappointing. my husband and i went for my birthday and we will not be returning. i had mussels for main and they were so overcooked they was nothing left. my husband veal was so dry it looked like it had been in the dryer, his potatoes were not much better. the price was high and service terrible.

tasty lunch. ventured to portside for lunch one sunday, was going to go to manx and use our entertainment card, but didn't realise it's not open on sundays. though we'd not read any reviews on gusto da gianni we thought we'd give it a try as it was busy and there was something on the menu for us all.
between us we had a couple of pizzas which were excellent, a rissoto and lasagna, all were excellent, service was good too.

nat and joe's wedding 3-5-14. i would like to take this opportunity to say that the quality of service offered by gusto’s has been highly impressive. every aspect of this service has been beyond reproach and every member of staff has been courteous, polite and reliable.
i can’t remember when i last sent a commendation to a restaurant, but i have just been so impressed that i feel that it’s due. from start to finish your service has been more than excellent. everybody i have dealt with has been friendly, professional and on-the-ball. any problem that cropped up was dealt with immediately. i have had dealings with many hospitality venues, without a doubt gusto’s is outstanding. it has been a pleasure doing business with you.
it is difficult to measure service and such-like, when so many of the transactions are one-off or sporadic, but i have to say that i was left with a feeling that i am the most important person in the world and the only person that has ever had a daughter hold her wedding in your restaurant, it was so special.
you respond promptly and effectively to requests. overall, i am left with the impression of a quality service and a sense of assurance that this aspect of my business is in good hands.
thank you. it makes a pleasant change to deal with a restaurant that takes pride in providing a first class service. i have no problems at all recommending your restaurant. keep up the good work and thanks for all your help.

so we ordered a pizza , garlic bread and salad. the food was dry, sauce and toppings were sloppy and seemed rushed. pizza was not cut all the way through, uneven pieces some small and some big.
rude staff. would've had better food at domino's :)

if i am being honest.... this place is not good value. i have gone to this place a few times with my boyfriend, and i have tried really hard to like it however i have decided i probably won't be returning.

the location is obviously fantastic, and the food is good (but not good enough for what you are paying). the sizes of the meals are too small, i still felt hungry after my bowel of gnocci. i would recommend getting a pizza as it is the only thing that will really fill you up.

but most of all, the staff members are all incredibly rude and abrupt. most of them are foreign (italian, im guessing) and after living in italy i understand that europeans have a different manner and can come across as quite rude. but this attitude is not something i am used to in australia. the lady who seated us was extremely abrupt and impatient which really dampens the whole vibe of the place.

never eaten here but why respond to criticism (which there seems to be a lot of) instead of your long winded replies try working on what's really important . your customers!.

we enjoyed it. nice and relaxed athmosphere, the food was good and so was the service. we will be back

cold tortelinni. i have eaten here several times now, and this is the 1st time i have had anything negative to say. unfortunately as with other posts my tortellini was cold. my wife ordered the linguine allo scoglio two of the clams came out unopened. for a quality restaurant this shouold not happen. the service was great but for the price you pay you'd expect great food.

i had the pleasure of dining here a couple of weeks ago with my son. the service was incredible, so polite, attentive, and informative. i am lucky to say i have dined and traveled worldwide extensively in my life, eating in some of finest restaurants (michelin star), to say the least i know good food when it’s presented to me. i can highly recommend this restaurant. the food was incredible and cooked to perfection, the suggested accompanying wine was spot on. we had a wonderful night, that could not have been more perfect. thank you, a wonderful memorable night. i will be returning.

it has been nearly three years since my last visit here for the birthday party of my wife so check it out last thursday in a group of three.
we arrived quite early at 05:30pm so was the second table of the night.
service was very friendly and hospitable.
we arranged to order a few dishes to share as tapas style.
orders were vitello tonnato, pepata cozze, medium size of tagliere di salumi, risotto alle capesante and pizza tartufo e porcinci.
all dishes were delicious. heroes should be the pizza, back mussel and the risotto. base of pizza was done fantastically without any oil and fillings of buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto and porcini mushroom were superb. truffle paste upgrade the whole dish to another level. black mussels were prepared perfectly and accompanied with very nice sauce. risotto was al dente, which well absorbed the lobster bisque. proportion of harvey bay scallop was well balanced with the whole dish.
a perfect italian dinner experience recently.

over $100 for some dips, bruschetta and a few drinks.. hmm, also staff could ask before taking things away

after paying the bill i went to the restaurants restroom, and as we were leaving one female staff member shouted at us “did you pay the bill?!”. are you kidding me!! is this how you treat customers?! didn’t apologise at all.. never coming back.
