the green chile queso was yummy but i was disappointed in my chile rellenos. apparently no attempt was made to remove any of the seeds inside the peppers, so they were not pleasant to eat. the taste was there but the multitude of seeds was annoying.

overpriced and bland. my husband and i went to this place expecting really good food because the parking lot was always packed. boy, were we fooled! we found that our meal was very very bland. the salsa wasn't great and we weren't happy with our seating. we were sat at a very small table with not much room for the chips and salsa, drinks and our plate. we were even more disappointed when we got our ticket and discovered how overpriced their bland food was. we haven't been back since and don't plan on going back.

everything i had was excellent. service was good. the salsa is very tasty..close to my own. i don't understand the negative reviews. we ordered queso which came in a big bowl. it was the "hot" version but it has just the right amount of heat. the stacked enchiladas were great. the rotisserie chicken that's roasted in house was very tender. the tamales were good as well. i had them christmas style with red and green sauce. both were very flavorful. everything is fresh and housemade. i can't wait to come back and try the stew!

at 69% approval, i think this is quite likely the most overrated of the restaurants i have witnessed. if the food is not pre-made, pre-portioned, heat and serve, but actually "home made"... then they are doing it wrong. nothing that we had that night was worth eating. the only thing worse than the food was the speed of service. the parking lot is always full, but i believe that is only because it takes 1-1/2 to 2 hours to get out of the restaurant.

this food and service is terrible. i'm from new mexico and this food is not!!! i have scrolled through the long list of reviews and i am wondering how this gets a 66% favorable when it's more like 4/5 don't like it. go to teds or chuys (which actually has hatch green chile from new mexico). this place buys everything frozen from bueno and seasons nothing!!

we came expecting great food. we were totally shocked!! service was terrible, 8 min before anyone even came to our table. food was fair at best. salsa was horrible, no flavor just as the food. chips were stale, reheated from lunch. i had the stack enchiladas, christmas. green chili was flavorless, what little there was. the red tasted like it was taken from its container (they use bueno red and green chili that you can buy at crest) and heated up. i guess someone forgot to add the salt, pepper, garlic, cumin and oregano. i will never be back. i am from new mexico and go home several times a year. this does not taste anything like new mexican food nor santa fe. the service never did improve, drink glasses were always empty, food took 30 minutes and then it was warm, like it had been sitting out. save your money or just go to taco bell.

worst experience at a restaurant ever! we made reservations at 6:30 for a group of 9, including 4 hungry kids. because there were so many of us we waited outside at the picnic benches. right off the bat they seated another large group that just walked in well after we did. about 20 minutes into our wait with a reservation we confronted them about why they had seated another group before us and they lied and said that group had arrived before we did, even though we watched them walk into the restaurant and we had a reservation. we also noticed they later seated another large group at a table we thought might be ours. when we inquired about that, they claimed another group did not like where they were seated and asked to move to our so called "reserved table" , which they allowed. we asked if they could just serve us outside and they never bothered to have anyone respond to that request. another 20 minutes went by and they continued to seat groups of 2 -4 with no mention of when they planned to seat us! in addition to this, not once did they offer to get us a drink or chips and salsa while we waited outside at a table for almost an hour! finally we confronted them a second time and they assured us it would be 5 minutes. we waited another 10 mins and they seated two other groups at the tables they promised us. we were done at that point...an hour later, no table , no food or drinks, with a reservation. all we were offered were lies, excuses, and all the manager offered us was a $5 off coupon. i will never set foot near or recommend this incompetent so called restaurant again. absolutely horrible customer service.

one of the worst meal experiences i have ever had. first of all, the parking lot is packed which makes you think it's gotta be good. false. it's because the service is incredibly slow. the people are nice enough, including the older gentleman, but it feels like there isn't enough of them. it actually took longer to get our chips, salsa, and drink order than it did to get food. the salsa tasted like cold marinara sauce. the green chili queso tasted like the canned white queso from the us foods store with chopped green chilis on top. ordered the chili rellano because of a recommendation on this site. it was awful! the poblano pepper was crunchy like an apple and the whole thing had no flavor. the rice reminded me if rice a roni's spanish rice mix (that i hate) and the beans were from a can and very dry. even my 14 month old daughter didn't like her food. the red sangria tastes like cheap wine served with a lime. so glad i had a groupon because i would have been very upset if i had paid full price. we has to go to mcdonalds after for my daughter since she hadn't eaten. spend the extra money in gas and go to abel's at 50th and meridian. truly the best mexican food in okc.

went there twice, first time for lunch everything was good great salsa and chips but i ordered the chicken nachos with very little chicken, so the second time was dinner took 30 min to be seated and over a hour to get food. this time ordered flat cheese enchiladas and they were just something i could make at home, just not impressed! if i go back maybe ill just eat chips and salsa as my meal!

not impressed! made from scratch is a lie! way over priced for me. and the carne avado was burnt, the rice tasted like rice a roni, the beans... are beans, the lettuce in place of cilantro bad choice. the queso tasted like velveeta with canned green chilies on top and the salsa was eeehhh. the kids nachos were chips with very little shredded cheese and i paid 3.50 for that! definetly not kid freindly:( on a positive note the place was very clean and nice, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, made me feel like i should have wore a dress and heels.

not impressed!. the salsa and chips are the best items they have. at the front of the restaurant, they have beers on ice. my husband ordered a beer and they brought him a warm beer. that starts the dinner off in the wrong direction. i ordered a quart margarita and it was the "oklahoma sissy" version of a tasty limeade. why do oklahoma restaurants (except for a very few) always skip the alcohol? texas margaritas are by far superior. i asked the waiter which he preferred between the flat chicken enchiladas and the new mexican homestyle chicken enchiladas. he said the homestyle chicken enchiladas are a casserole and it is delicious. casseroles are usually delicious so i went with that. this casserole was nothing but chips that weren't crispy and weren't soggy. they were hard and did not cut with a fork. there was a very very small amount of chicken and cheese on these hard chips that i couldn't cut through. we were with friends and wanted to have a good time so both my husband and i did not let the staff know that the drink and food was not acceptable. there is much tastier mexican food and drinks in oklahoma city and norman.
