this was without a doubt the worst dining experience of my life. it took 15 min toplaceour order and another 20 min to receive our entree. the burrito was so dry it actually hung in my throat. the salsa tasted like it was made from canned tomatoes. the queso was watery and unremarkable. the chips were stale. the rice was dry. i ran out of water twice. we had to ask for everything. when my husband asked for a spoon he was told it was hiding in the jar with the straws. we left without finishing our meal. something we have never ever done before. this was our first and our last

went there 5-4-13 & was seated. the hostess said your server will be right with you. after 3 tables of people who arrived after us had placed their order & we still had no chips or server & tried to get their attention. saw 4 different servers in our area, none would look our way. so got up & left after 30 minutes of waiting toplacea order!!!!!!

it took us awhile to try thisplaceout because of all of the negative reviews. tried it out today, busiest restaurant day of the year - mother's day, and it was unbelievably good. upon reading some of the other reviews on here, it's clear some people's taste buds have been "tastewashed" by overly salty foods you find at chili's or sonic. the ingredients here are fresh, organic, and local! obviously they are going to run out of things. they don't buy processed, chemical-laden junk to serve you. kudos to this family for doing it right. everything from the chips, salsa, and queso (with green chiles and local ground beef) to the watermelon agua fresca, to the entrees was superb. we will be back and will quickly become regulars. keep it up!!

like it. we went for cinco de mayo -- 2pm on a sunday. luckily we had missed the rush, as they close at 4pm sundays.
i want thisplaceto do well, love the concept and the building, decor.
we ordered guac & the salsa trio - everything tastes fresh, bright & spicy. we shared the stacked enchiladas with no name ranch sliced beef. they put alot of cheese on them, but otherwise tasty. we do christmas style with both red & green chile. we requested fried egg on top as that is the way we have them in southern nm ... they can't do this, even though the waitress said they have had several requests... why won't they accommodate this request?
"house made" sangria for $7 was a little disappointing. small wine glass, seemed like plain red wine or pre-made sangria mix with added slice of orange & lime. great prices on beers - pacifico only $3.25 so i changed to that. margaritas are good, but pricey at $8 for small jar.

christmas chile!. so excited to try this place! we absolutely love southern nm cuisine. theplacewas packed, even early bird on a friday night. drinks & food took way too long, but everyone was friendly and we hope that improves. most of us had the flat/stacked enchiladas -- was hoping could top with fried egg, but they are not familiar with this (as we always had this way in nm) ... i had mine "christmas" with both green & red chile, but too much cheese on the enchiladas. i tried the calabacitas - sauteed vegetable side and they were too soft/overcooked, hopefully that will improve. great margaritas & decent beer selection. love the interior and can't wait to go back to try the green chile stew and posole and rotisserie chicken! we were too stuffed to have a sopapilla but the table had red chile honey and i need to save room for that next time!

absolutely fantastic!  i enjoyed ground-beef tacos which were some of the best i've had anywhere.  the side of rice was cooked and seasoned to perfection as were the refried beans.  the tacos came with a small side of an avocado-type sauce which was out-of-this-world delicious.

the atmosphere was very nice and the service was spot on.  the check came in a small mason jar with the lid cut out on top.  odd, but i loved it!  delicious food and great serviceplacethis restaurant at the top of my list.

standard tex mex food and rushed service. no thanks.. my fiance and i decided to stop here for dinner. i had heard/read about how thisplacewas suppose to be unique due to the use of green chilies in the majority of their dishes. i was expecting some unique creations using green chilies but was sadden to see the standard tex-mex menu you see in any chain mexican restaurant. the only difference is some of the items claimed to feature green chilies in the sauces.

they started us out with chips and salsa. nothing special. i decided to try the green chili rubbed roasted chicken with green chile mashed potatoes and green chili mac and cheese. the chicken was moist but even with the rub it was bland. the mashed potatoes had an few small pieces of green chili in them but not enough to taste their spice. the mac and cheese was a gooey cheesy mess again with only a few small pieces of green chili. all the food required the use of salt and pepper. the only item i had that actually had some green chili flavor was my green chili lemonade.

the service here was ok. it felt like our server was rushing us though our meal. the food came out very fast. we had not even tasted out food and the server was back asking how we liked it. not even half way through our dinner, our server was asking if we wanted desert. we had not even touched our pie and the check was at the table. overall, now worth going out of your way.

great green chile cooking--especially for oklahoma. i'm a bit puzzled by all the negative reviews. having lived in new mexico many years ago i gauge green chile cooking by how good of a job is done on green chile enchiladas. gck does them well--not as good as you find in many places in nm but good enough to suit me and bring back memories.

the salsa was good, the service was good--and friendly.   we did not have to wait for a table and the prices, while higher than most mexican places, are not terrible. i have no problem recommending thisplaceto anyone who likes green chile cooking.

terrible service, mediocre food. we took my mom there for lunch today after hearing how good it is. my mom is a huge fan of green chile burritos but thisplaceis a joke. their green chili sauce is the consistency of salsa, we up are used to it being like a gravy. i had stuffed sopapillas and they were terrible. the sopapillas were more like pie crust instead of soft bread. the side of rice was bright red and had no flavor. i wish i could say the food was the worst part of our lunch, but the service was. we walked in and stood there for 15 minutes before even being acknowledged....and four servers walked passed us....they didn't even look up. the waitress was ridiculously slow once we were seated. she also did not know the menu well. my mom had several questions and the waitress looked confused! we won't be going back.

good enough for me. i went here with my husband when they had the groupon deal and we had no issues; the service was a bit lacking but nothing i consider bad enough to gripe about. i'm just glad there's another option besides texmex in the okc area. i've had santa fe new mexican food before and i felt this was fairly similar (similar enough that i wouldnt say, oh its not perfect, i'm never coming again).
as for the food i actually tried... i had the posole stew which was very good and for my entree i had the smothered burrito which was also very good. i dont remember what my husband had, but i remember him thinking it was just okay (he is very hard to please when it comes to restaurant food though).

on a side note... i noticed nearly every recent review disparaging this restaurant admits at some point they were expecting a lot from this place...i have to wonder if some are being a bit too critical because thisplacereceived a lot of hype in the beginning.

i really wanted to like this place. the waitstaff are pompous and the food is mediocre. we ate here on a saturday but i think this is a night timeplacefor drunk 20 year olds who haven't eaten well before. i will say that the quality of ingredients was high but for the money the value just isn't there. seriously the waitstaff are actually something to experience at least once. it's entertaining to be scoffed at by them throughout the meal then watch them try to "earn your tip" at the very end. we went once, that will be enough. we'll go back to carlitos

overpriced and bland. my husband and i went to thisplaceexpecting really good food because the parking lot was always packed. boy, were we fooled! we found that our meal was very very bland. the salsa wasn't great and we weren't happy with our seating. we were sat at a very small table with not much room for the chips and salsa, drinks and our plate. we were even more disappointed when we got our ticket and discovered how overpriced their bland food was. we haven't been back since and don't plan on going back.

this food and service is terrible. i'm from new mexico and this food is not!!! i have scrolled through the long list of reviews and i am wondering how this gets a 66% favorable when it's more like 4/5 don't like it. go to teds or chuys (which actually has hatch green chile from new mexico). thisplacebuys everything frozen from bueno and seasons nothing!!

we came expecting great food. we were totally shocked!! service was terrible, 8 min before anyone even came to our table. food was fair at best. salsa was horrible, no flavor just as the food. chips were stale, reheated from lunch. i had the stack enchiladas, christmas. green chili was flavorless, what little there was. the red tasted like it was taken from its container (they use bueno red and green chili that you can buy at crest) and heated up. i guess someone forgot to add the salt, pepper, garlic, cumin and oregano. i will never be back. i am from new mexico and go home several times a year. this does not taste anything like new mexican food nor santa fe. the service never did improve, drink glasses were always empty, food took 30 minutes and then it was warm, like it had been sitting out. save your money or just go to taco bell.

not impressed! made from scratch is a lie! way over priced for me. and the carne avado was burnt, the rice tasted like rice a roni, the beans... are beans, the lettuce inplaceof cilantro bad choice. the queso tasted like velveeta with canned green chilies on top and the salsa was eeehhh. the kids nachos were chips with very little shredded cheese and i paid 3.50 for that! definetly not kid freindly:( on a positive note theplacewas very clean and nice, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, made me feel like i should have wore a dress and heels.
