grappino trattoria italian restaurant

it was my day of free! i had scored free tickets to the global tens and also free tickets to the stand up comedy club, so why not spoil myself with a beautiful italian dinner with some amazing friends? i have been walking past this place for so long and had always been memorised by the interior design and decor t had to offer. grappino has this unique italian feel to it, as well as some absolutely fantastic and professional italian waiters. this place has character!!! now the food, i had the pappardelle with duck and oh my goodness what mouthwatering flavours! yes the serving came out on the bone, but it broke away with easy and the sauce andpastacompliment it's hearty flavour. i ended off with a cheese platter (the tallegio cheese) which was just a perfect way to finish off with the remnants of the delectable shiraz. all and all, this place has fast, professional service with a unique character that only italians possess. such a lovely night out, i highly recommend this place!

amazing food!!! everyone in our party absolutely loved their meal. i had the duckpastaand it was sooooo good - rich tomato sauce, duck was just falling off the bone, perfectly cooked pasta. yum! i tasted the lasagne and lemon veal as well and they were great! the only issue i have is the bread and oil/balsamic entree was very mediocre, which is surprising for an italian restaurant! our waiter was very nice and entertaining as well :) will definitely come here again!

i am apastaqueen i love italian food so i'm always on the hunt for somewhere to eat a good bowl of pasta. this place hit the spot! i had the mushroom gnocchi and my husband had the penne puttanesca both were so flavorful and we left nothing on our plates. we also got the cannelloni special with shrimp and lobster oil. wow it was amazing i could have eaten 5. definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for good italian food with a warm and friendly staff. we will be back!

dianaa the hostess was such a lovely lady. we had an excellent bottle of pinot grigio (i forget), spaghetti vongolepastaspecial and funghi linguini. couple of entres, couple of mains, wine and coffee came to ~$160.

light, tasty and delicious. made a last minute reservation on a night the broncos were playing at suncorp stadium, which is just down the road. while it could have been a disaster it wasn't. the service was very friendly and professional - the restaurant was probably 60% full at all times, with quite a regular turnover of patrons, but our 2 waitresses, and from what i could see the other few waitresses, were always attentive and competent. the food was presented simply, was light and tasty. the are some of the old traditionalpastadishes and i had the lasagna, for old times sake. it was delicious. almost as good as my mothers. we went the full hog and had three courses each, something we rarely do. because each dish was so well executed and the ingredients so fresh and tasty, we came out of there a little full but not feeling sick. my only negative would be it seemed to take a while for the meals to come out - but maybe that's why we were able to eat so much! this is a great restaurant that has stood the test of time and shouldn't be missed.

grappino provided some greatpastadishes that were both heart warming and filling. i thought the sauces on both our pastas were delicious and i polished off my plate even though i was full half-way through. our brownie was a fantastic way to end the meal and i noticed all the other diners seemed to be having a great time. this is comfort food with a touch of class.

amazing pasta... this place is pretty fancy - so if you want to take your special one out - this is the place to go. make sure you dress for the occasion! thepastawas amazing (seriously, i have been to lots of italian restaurants and thepastawas full stop amazing).

truly a great place, this is some right out of the heart of rome!! home made and very tasty and light food, each dish was very different thepastawas light and not filling. i wil return and would suggest some of the best italian food i've had in brisbane!!

d and i were at grappino, an italian restaurant that's known as a bit of an institution. we ordered the famous veal medallions (vitello saltimbocca) , and thepastamarinara (grappino's marinara). i also ordered a glass of venetian pinot grigio (

i was very happy with the food, the service, and the decor.

grappino definitely has an old world down-at-the-heels charm from a design point of view.

the food is the draw, though. my partner had the veal scallopine and i had thepastamarinara. both were very goo and the napoli sauce particularly tasty.

we both had gelati for dessert, which was delicious! not sure if it's home made but if not i need to find out where to buy it. simple but perfect finish.

service was efficient and friendly without being over the top. recommended.
