busy breakfast/brunch spot in the tourist area. we tried the pork belly benedict, a kalua pig benedict on taro muffin and a guava juice and 100% maui coffee.  the hollandaise sauce was overly sweet, while the eggs and meats were good. also the okinawian purple potatoes were different but lack much flavoring. similarly the coffee was just ho-hum.  the nalo greens on side was the hit, nicely dressed, but who goes out for a breakfast salad, right? at full on tourist trap prices, there are better breakfasts to be had, even in waikiki.

aloha from the beautiful island of hawaii! goofy cafe is a great little brunch spot located in the state’s capital of honolulu. this restaurant also dishes up some great lunch and dinner, so come on by at anytime of the day. grab some fresh açaí bowls and some of the best french toast on the islands. the incredible views are on the house.

you don’t enter a place named goofy with a lot of expectations. and on the outside, goofy’s doesn’t look like much; just a casual, shopping-center cafe. sit down inside and you immediately feel at home. it’s a welcoming, cozy, bustling breakfast bar, and there isn’t a single thing i tried that wasn’t absolutely exceptional.

this small little cafe gets packed from 7:30pm onwards so be prepared for a short wait. luckily we just missed rush hour! the ambience is nice and relaxed - perfect for a casual meal.

we ordered the goofys egg bene with spinach and tomato. the portion was huge and decent value for money. the eggs were done well and the slight sweetness to the dish worked well with the savoury elements. the french toast with berries, banana and strawberry was delicious. my partner and i shared this for ‘dessert’ and it was just the right portion.

both dishes were recommended by our waiter who seemed to be clued up on the dishes. we’re glad we took his recommendation on it. would happily go here again!

my son and i each had the ahi poke avocado bowl and pina colada smoothies. both were extremely fresh. the smoothie tasted a little watery. the bowl was satisfying and just the right portion. if you typically clear your plate while eating out you may feel the portions here are on the small side. service was awesome.

nice food and friendly service in a cosy cafe. food was served promptly with decent portions. we ordered molokai sweet potato chips (we were actually expecting thick cut chips not thinly sliced potato chip style), mahi mahi (fish) with vegetables, and a penne pasta dish. we finished our night with a creme brulee.

takeaway: it was good but the service was only ok.

started our getaway with brunch at this place. i heard it was good last time we were here but we didn’t get to go. the loco moco was good and was a large portion. the goofy’s lemonade was very nice and refreshing but not too sweet. i really liked it.

the service was a bit lacking, however. our server was nice but she never returned after taking our orders and bringing us our drinks. we had to flag down someone else for the cheque, which did not prove easy and took a couple tries before someone came over.

love the food here. if i had stayed in honolulu longer, i would of tried to dine here more often. atmosphere casual, friendly staff. in walking distance from waikiki, easy transport there & easy to find as it sits on top of a abc shop (equivalent to a 7 evelen shop & situated everywhere in oahu) or just down the road from aqua palms hotel or hawaiian hilton. it pays to book in advance alot of the time or depending on busy periods as this restaurant is small. pricing is not too bad, as quality of food is great. ginger brulee is divine, eggs benedict is yummy. we ate here 5 times!! would definitely recommend to try this restaurant if your in the area.

reminded me of a tropical japan, a cute little cafe & the food looked simple and humble just the way i like it, but i opted for the famous acai bowl and it didn't disappoint. i waited 10 mins for a table but it was worth it and after a nice run it was exactly what my body needed!

i’m always looking for new breakfast spots in honolulu and one place that has been on my list for a couple of years has been goofy cafe & dine on ala moana blvd. whenever we pass by this place, it always seems busy so that must be a good thing. so instead of heading back to eggs ‘n things this year, we stopped by goofy cafe before we went exploring downtown honolulu. this small little restaurant is located on the second floor, on top of some retail shops. while this gives diners a bit of a view, you pretty much only see passing traffic and the busy ala moana roadway is fairly loud.

we were staying at the hgvc just a couple minutes away. got there right when they opened at 7am and they sat all 8 of us at a table. fyi, it's on the second floor. i tried the the loco moco which was really good and a local favorite for breakfast but being from minnesota it reminded me of salisbury steak in an onion gravy. probably a better lunch or dinner option since they serve breakfast all day. others got the french toast with mixed fruit which was really yummy and another got french toast with pineapple and honey which was awesome as well. neither were overly sweet. i would recommend!
