good gravy diner

not so bad. have been there a couple of times because i like diner food, especially chicken fried steak, sausage gravy, mashed potatoes & green beans. since i wasn't expecting a gourmet meal, in the first place, it was really pretty good! i might mention (and i hope they take note) that, on my second visit, the steak was a little over-cooked...not burnt, but on the way. our server was pleasant and the wait time was short. i'll do lunch there again, occasionally. if you're a realfoodsnob, though, don't bother.

i ordered today through postmates. none of thefoodwas as ordered. we ordered the eggs over medium, received scrambled. we ordered dry toast, received buttered toast. we ordered cheese on the eggs, no cheese. we ordered salsa, no salsa. the hasbrowns and toast were flacid. the eggs had no seasoning and were rubbery. the only good part of our order were the biscuits. even the gravy was incorrect. they gave us ham instead of sausage.

good, standard breakfast fare. of course the thing that sets this place apart from the other restaurants of its type are the many gravy flavors. some are "exotic", but most make a lot of sense and aren't too far out there. the biscuits are huge but taste like biscuits anywhere. portions for all dishes are ample.foodis good, no complaints, just pretty average for that type of place.

ownership has changed hands several times, horrible. ownership changed several times since 2011 -- sunday, today, placed my order at 11:17 and it was delivered to the table at 12:03. we just about left but they brought it out at the last minute. i was very nice and polite as i expressed my unhappiness but all i got were excuses and smiles. they kept telling me "next time" this and "next time" that but there will be no next time as this has become the norm the last couple times. i told our old waitress she was very sweet, but the kitchen's gonna do 'em in. really, waiting that long for breakfastfoodis simply unacceptable.

splendid experience. so i've been here a few times now for breakfast and each time i've been completely satisfied. being a gravy fanatic, i am exited that this place offers like seven or eight different types of it! and this gravy you can put on their super fluffy homemade biscuits. i mean these things are awesome. the chorizo sausage which has a little bit of heat, and yet the plain gravy is just as good. this gravy would be great on chicken fried steak.

eggs and sausage are as good as you can expect. the hashbrowns have been made crispy to order and it's just perfect all together. and you really can't beat the price. they run specials daily, of which they post on facebook.

the two guys that own the place have helped me each time i've been there. my water never got half empty, neither did my coffee or did it ever get cold. each time i've been there at least one of them has sparked up a friendly conversation.

this is a top notch breakfast place just on the northern outskirts of nichols hills. you'd be real pressed to find a better, more reasonably priced breakfast around town than this.

good food, but avoid rush hours at all costs. my family was seated before a couple. they ordered, ate, and left before ourfoodarrived.

45 minute wait and nofoodjust excuses..... like thefoodbut not excuses and waiting... excuse was they were busy, but serving tables that been there after us ....

chocolate gravy, oh my!!. quick service andfooddelivery. the huge biscuits melted in your mouth and i loved the chocolate gravy! i've never been to a place that served chocolate gravy before, but it basically tasted similar to what i make when i make chocolate gravy for breakfast for my family. it's a specialty gravy that's only served on saturdays and sundays.

a pleasant place if you have the time.. my family went on a sunday morning. if i had read the reviews before we went i not have been surprised by the wait. the place was clean and the wait staff very friendly, but as has been said before, it was a really long wait. i had good company to pass the time with, so i was lucky. when we did get ourfoodthere was plenty of it, the homemade biscuits were very tasty and everyone enjoyed their gravy. we all ordered a different gravy, and all sampled each others gravy, so we had a wide sample of gravies. jalapeno gravy won the taste test for our group. aside from a really long wait for our food, it was an enjoyable visit.

biscuits are okfoodnot to bad. but the wait for yourfoodtook 45 min to get two orders of eggs and biscuits with gravy. the service staff needs a lot more help i received one coffee refill in the 1.5 we were there don't go if they have more than 5 people in their building more than that u get no service. so beware and good luck

very busy but only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. thefoodon the other hand... waited almost 40 minutes for it. the fries were cold...burger was ok. my moms omlett was cold, her hashbrowns hard and her biscuits and gravy cold and hard. will definitely not recommend or be back.

just...no. we had terrible service....thefoodwas cold, bland and flavorless. nothing was to die for like people say. i would gladly go to any other breakfast joint in okc. save your money and go to classen grill or even just ihop

great. we are regular customers at the ggd. it is greatfoodand the staff is amazing. give it a try. you also will become a regular. they have amazing burgers and fries as well as meatloaf.

very disappointed!!!. waited over 45 minutes. when i finally got myfoodit was not worth the wait...my hash browns were burnt and my over easy egg was hard. won't be back.

have been twice and love it !foodgood, hashbrowns crispy , just have to wait awhile for food,so don't go if in a hurry. highly recommend !
