everything was overcooked! they boast 47 types of gravy, but they only have 2. then they just add stuff to it. i mean who mixes pickled jalapeños w gravy? very bland. nothing had flavor. my mouth still hurts from how tough mychickenfrychickenwas. hashbrowns were burnt.just felt awful when i left. surely wont be returning. i always try to look for the good and just couldnt find any. waitress was nice.

down-home cooking!. okay, i could go on and on about the fluffy homemade buttermilk biscuits, the crispy hashbrowns, or the (i hate to make comparisons and i hate to even utter these words because i put los comales on such a high pedestal, but seriously, it was that good) delicious chorizo and eggs platter my boyfriend and i fought over (we actually refused to go to the bathroom for fear the other one would finish the plate and one of us would get stiffed on delicious chorizo). all i really need to say though is they have six kinds of homemade gravies. six people. i had the bacon gravy, and it was heavenly. it is honestly the only reason i think i could get the boyfriend to share his chorizo and eggs with me.

the prices are incredibly reasonable, and i am looking forward to trying out some of the lunch items. burgers, fries, chickenfry, hamburger steak, etc.

fair warning, don't roll in thinking you are going to some typical nichols hills eatery. you won't find it here. the hours are 7-2 monday thru saturday, closed sunday. the decor is simple and tidy. the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. very small town diner feel to the place. fine by me, my favorite place back home closed when i was in high school. i've been looking for a replacement since... might have just found it, too!

not so bad. have been there a couple of times because i like diner food, especiallychickenfried steak, sausage gravy, mashed potatoes & green beans. since i wasn't expecting a gourmet meal, in the first place, it was really pretty good! i might mention (and i hope they take note) that, on my second visit, the steak was a little over-cooked...not burnt, but on the way. our server was pleasant and the wait time was short. i'll do lunch there again, occasionally. if you're a real food snob, though, don't bother.

it was just 'ok'.  i probably should have ordered breakfast, ordered a friedchickensandwich and it wasn't salted enough.  the fries were good, my gravy though, was bland.

my favorite breakfast. the scrambled eggs are flavorful, thechickenfried steak delicious -- although occasionally slightly over-breaded which is unavoidable anyplace really -- the best pancakes in okc, hash browns are crisp without overcooking, huge and delicious biscuits that i dream about at night, terrific breakfast burritos, dang i guess i just flat out love this place. oh yeah, the namesake gravy is good. real good. dang good.

ownership has changed hands several times, horrible. ownership changed several times since 2011 -- sunday, today, placed my order at 11:17 and it was delivered to the table at 12:03. we just about left but they brought it out at the last minute. i was very nice and polite as i expressed my unhappiness but all i got were excuses and smiles. they kept telling me "next time" this and "next time" that but there will be no next time as this has become the norm the last couple times. i told our old waitress she was very sweet, but the kitchen's gonna do 'em in. really, waiting that long for breakfast food is simply unacceptable.

splendid experience. so i've been here a few times now for breakfast and each time i've been completely satisfied. being a gravy fanatic, i am exited that this place offers like seven or eight different types of it! and this gravy you can put on their super fluffy homemade biscuits. i mean these things are awesome. the chorizo sausage which has a little bit of heat, and yet the plain gravy is just as good. this gravy would be great onchickenfried steak.

eggs and sausage are as good as you can expect. the hashbrowns have been made crispy to order and it's just perfect all together. and you really can't beat the price. they run specials daily, of which they post on facebook.

the two guys that own the place have helped me each time i've been there. my water never got half empty, neither did my coffee or did it ever get cold. each time i've been there at least one of them has sparked up a friendly conversation.

this is a top notch breakfast place just on the northern outskirts of nichols hills. you'd be real pressed to find a better, more reasonably priced breakfast around town than this.

great diner...excellent gravies!. the first couple of times that i visited this restaurant, i was a little overwhelmed with the how many different gravies they offered. of course, i had them bring me a sample of some of the different gravies (which they were happy to do). i haven't had the opportunity to go back in quite some time, but i hope that they still offer the chocolate gravy (it goes great on their fresh biscuits). the last time that i was there, they had recently added chorizo gravy to the menu so i got that on mychickenfried steak. not only was thechickenfried steak perfect flavored and tender (i could cut it with a fork!), but the gravy was extremely tasty without being overpowered by the chorizo sausage (but you could definitely still taste the chorizo).

did i mention the pancakes yet? no? well, if you enjoy filling up on pancakes, you need only order one. they are so large, i can only describe them as "maniacal." the bacon and eggs that come with most meals are also perfectly cooked every time. the bacon is crisp without being burnt and the eggs(scrambled) are always fluffy and not runny.

there are a lot of good places to go eat breakfast in north okc, but this is one of the very best. i highly recommend giving it a shot, you won't be disappointed...as long as you like gravy.

not bad, but.... there doesn't seem to be anything especially noteworthy about a place that boasts that it serves 47 distinct types of gravy. sadly, the "different" gravies appear to be their stock cream or brown gravies with additional ingredients added in post hoc. while it's not necessarily surprising, it's a little disappointing. things were well prepared and to order (save a overcooked and distinctly sinewychickenfried steak) and the service was fairly good despite ongoing training of some staff.
reasonable prices for solid diner breakfast fare, but i can't find any reason to recommend it over any of the similar establishments in the metro area.

i love gravy. how could i not try a place that features 15 different gravies? i had lunch here today since it was more-or-less on the way between the airport and home. i got there around 1315 and left close to 1400. i got the (hand breaded)chickenfried steak, mashers, and green beans. the green beans were pretty good. the mashers were excellent; there were a lot of them, and they were, shall we say, lightly mashed, which wasn’t a bad thing at all. then there was the cfs. it was almost perfect. the breading was a good complement to the beffy, tasty, fork-tender beef. that was a cfs i could have cooked at home. the only thing i counted the cfs down was that the thing was just a little overcooked (or possibly, the oil it was cooked in needed to be changed or filtered). but that was minor. to finish it off, the cfs, which defaults to cream gravy, came with sausage gravy at my request, yum! since the cfs was a lunch special, it came with dessert; i chose a cube of yellow chocolate cake th

glad i went!!!. after reading reviews i decided to give it a try. glad i did it. the food portions are fantastic, prices reasonable and it was one of the best breakfasts i have had in okc. the wait time was no problem. ordered and had my meal within 20 minutes, and thechickenfry was tasty, and large. definitely not a fast food restaurant, and that's why i will be back. clean diner; friendly staff; great food and atmosphere.

love this place!. paula and i went here the friday before christmas. they were really busy with only one server. she kept up and i have to say that our coffee never ran out and we got our food hot and quickly. we both got breakfast and were very well pleased. the gravy is creamy and the biscuits substantial. we are both picky about our eggs and they were perfectly over easy. the hashbrowns were fresh and crisp as was my bacon. paula'schickenfried steak was thick and tender with a really nice crunchy crust. we are thrilled to find a great breakfast place that is not a chain restaurant. prices are super reasonable, too! i highly reccommend.

mrs. oklahoma could offer a bit more in the breakfast dept ( no chain included) so after reading a brief review of one account about the bacon gravy my brother ventured out. it was lunch rush and opted for lunch special:chickenfry mashed potatoes and veggie. honestly i was not impressed. mashed potatoes seemed to be boiled and sliced with knife no butter salt or pepper of any kind, ck fry was boxed all breaded and tough. green beans ok. all in all i can say i tried it but wont go back. the summit and nic's grill are sitll my number one stops.
