good dog bar

2/27/2016 - visited gooddogbar because it was close to the hotel and rated high. i'll start by saying the theme of the bar is very cool - check out the website and enter thedogcontest. the bar is quaint and personal. everyone seemed to be having a great afternoon.

the food is average - it's a bar. i had the special (chicken tacos) which was good, not great. i'd like to see more flavor in the food. they have an opportunity to knock it out of the park. i'd like to go back - it's cool.

gooddogis a simple, straightforward bar. good drinks, food and a fun atmosphere. the bartenders were really friendly and quick despite the crowd!

great burger joint. we went in to have a quick burger and left knowing we would be back. the veggie was fantastic and the gooddogburger was our of this world. fries were good, so we took extra home. recommended.

i would recommend the gooddogbar and restaurant to you as a fun place to hang out at and watch a game. the bonus is that they a have a fun and unique menu that you would never expect from such a place. i tip my hat to the chef for a job well done. next time i will take the waiters advice and order the gooddogburger

finally made here for lunch. the gooddogburger is one of the best that i have ever had. the fries were ok. i also had a bloody mary which was great but will be back for the pepper gibson and another burger!

a filling and flavorful burger. stopped in for lunch and ordered the gooddogburger, a thick burger with roquefort cheese stuffed inside. even cooked medium it was quite juicy from the combination of meat and cheese. i sometimes enjoy a bleu burger when i go out so to me the flavor of this gooddogburger was familiar and truly good. it came with a large pile of mostly sweet potato fries. they were a bit soggy but still very good. a french fry dipping sauce is also provided. although busy, the service was excellent.

sit? stay? absolutely.. gooddogbar has quickly become one of my favorite places in philly.

the initial draw for me was the truffled cheese steak empanadas (as seen on food network's "diners, drive-ins and dives"), but the hip, casual environment has kept me coming back. staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the bartenders know their stuff (and happily make great recommendations).

that's not to say the food isn't excellent, because it is. the chicken cordon bleu chicken fingers (brilliant idea) are great for sharing and come with one of the best honey mustard dipping sauces i've ever had. i highly recommend the buffalo style shrimp po boy and the chicken sandwich (grilled chicken breast with bacon bourbon chutney, melted brie and spinach). most dishes come with a heavy helping of regular and fantastic sweet potato fries, mixed together for variety.

there are bars on the first two floors, and the third floor is equipped with tvs, a pool table and ample seating for a fun, low-key hangout. the bar's slogan is "come, sit, stay," but like a good dog, you'll also play, eat and then roll over and take a nap with a belly full of awesome food.

love!!!. what can i say about this place ..... only that it is crazy awesome! i went there for lunch and got the cordon blue chicken tenders and they were delicious. the drinks were good too. the young man tending bar was funny and he had a picture of his mom tattooed on his arm which i think is sweet (he really looks like her too). i hear that gooddogwas featured on diner, drive-ins and dives and i can totally understand why. who needs an iron chef when you can go here? my only disappointment was that in all the pictures of dogs all over the walls, there were no weimaraners ..... maybe i will correct that and send them some pictures of my dogs. it would be an honor to have my dogs pictures on their walls.

after a saturday mid-day trip to trader joe’s that actually wasn’t excruciating (thank goodness for the mass exodus of the college folk!) and a good day of roaming around town in the heat, hot, heat, we stopped in at gooddogfor a quick dinner. we didn’t

heading out with the guys before the big concert - we only had about an hour to get some food and have a pre-concert cocktail. i looked up the " 50 best bars in philadelphia " article on the philadelphia weekly website, and found the gooddogat number 3.

soooo good. come here if you enjoy mouth orgasms. the gooddogburger will make you rethink everything you've thought about burgers. fries are banging as well. my gf ate some mediterranean wrap and i swear to god she almost came...twice!

best fries in the city. or at least i would argue best fries. good dog's mix of sweet potato and regular fries, perfectly seasoned and served with a delicious sauce, make a scrumptious snack anytime. their beer menu isn't bad either, with about 10-15 good drafts and numerous bottles. the narrow first floor with the row of booths alongside the bar can get a little cramped. but the upstairs has more tables and room to roam around.

our waiter was pretty snotty this past weekend when i was there, getting mad at us for not ordering our first round of drinks from him at the table. but i was at the bar ordering before anyone even sat down! the rest of the night he had an attitude even though we ordered multiple rounds and some food from him. hopefully this was an isolated incident... i've never had a problem with rude waitstaff here before.

where oh where to get a bite so late on a week night? gooddogto the rescue, with a kitchen that stays open late and all kinds of veggie options. while i was tempted by the black bean and rice “soup of the day,” i succumbed to the more substantial veggie

sitting, staying, being a very good dog. there is a very good chance i would kill for a burger from good dog. i am not a huge fan of the gooddogburger but that is because i love the inside of my burger dripping with blood not roquefort. if you are a big rare/medium rare burger eater, this is the place to indulge. i am sure you've heard it before, but their sweet potato fries (mixed with regular fries) are some of the best in the city. delicious.
