great b-day dinner.. my wife and i recently dined at the glass onion in weaverville for my birthday. we have wanted to try it and it seemed a perfect occasion. the glass onion is an italian restaurant, small and quaint, but with a very good menu. this is a great step up for weaverville. we started by ordering a glass of wine each. then, they brought out some garlic rolls. wow! they were delicious, crispy on the outside but melt-in-your-mouth soft on the inside. my wife ordered a fettuccine and wild mushroom dish. she loved it. i was trying to decide between the wild boar bolognese, the ricotta gnocchi, or the tuscan grilled chicken. our waiter was very helpful and recommended the wild boar bolognese. i was not disappointed. very yummy! the service was great. the meals came out pretty quick. we wanted to stay and have dessert but were in a bit of a hurry because of some other plans we had made for later that evening. we ordered dessert to go and we were out the door. we will definitely bebackto the glass onion when we can stay a little longer and enjoy our desserts in this charming and fantastic restaurant..
