fame drives popularity. the glacier brewhouse does a great job and serves excellent food, but its popularity makes it difficult to get a table without a wait almost any time.

if you want a brew and a burger with a better view and less hassle try the snow goose--the upper deck has a great view of the knik arm--rather than waiting for an hour for a table at the glacier brewhouse.

good for tourists.. this place is not fine dining but they do put out a consistent plate. the beer is good (user friendly) but not great. decent wine selection. fun place to people watch. lots of hustle bustle going on with the busy service staff rushing about and the cacophony of hundreds of diners' simultaneous dinner conversations. is what it is. nice banquet rooms for private parties and functions (though relatively small for the size of the restaurant).

best american food in ak. i am a pushover anytime someone wants to go the the brew ha ha!

cajun jambalaya is my favorite and i have never ordered anything different!

reservations are a good idea, no matter when.

good food... but can you stand screaming children? if not this is not the place for you. pricey by anc standards. may need to pay for parking.

soup, u have to try!!!. the brewhouse has some different types of soup. i am not a soup person and then add something exotic and i would most likely stick with the bread, but i had a friend tell me to try a curry soup that they were serving. he had had it before and it was great. since then i always get a cup of soup for the appetizer.
