a night out. read it was one of the best places to eat in anchorage. verygoodfood, even for vegetarians. i ordered the fire wood grilled vegetable pizza. the serving size was enough for dinner plus a "brown bag" for work the next day. the beer is a "must try", and don't forget dessert! great food, goodpricing, flavorful beer. a "must" on places to eat in anchorage, ak

great burger.. we finished our cruise in seward, got off the ship and took the shuttle bus to anchorage where we had time to kill before catching an airplane ride home. after a week long cruise enjoying many alaskan sea foods, we were hungry for agoodold fashioned hamburger. the bacon burger is big, flavorful, juicy and satisfying. our only complaint: we wish we'd had room for dessert!

good if you don't live in alaska. glacier brew house is one of those places that was designed with the tourist in mind. there is nothing wrong with that. the food is good, if a bit expensive. it's one of those places that just seems to try a little harder than it should. everything is just a bit too fancy. if you order something simple like a hamburger and a beer it comes with organic lily chilly compote instead of mustard and ketchup. all in all the place is nice, i liked it, but if you want agoodburger go to the peanut farm, if you wantgoodribs go to pete's barbeque. if you want to impress your auntie and uncle up from oklahoma then this is the place!

just an ok experience. i'm conflicted on this place. the food wasgoodalthough for the prices (outragous prices imo) very skimpy on the portions. i honestly don't understand how all the younger people we saw there (and those who write the majority of reviews on these websites) can afford to eat out at places like this all the time. no wonder they complain they are broke all the time. we went there for the new "brunch". we got in right at our reserved time which was nice. the place was packed as usual. i have to say i don't believe they have enough staff, especially in the back of the house. our waiter, who was very good, came to our table right away. he asked if we would like water and then left to get it. a few minutes later someone brought water. about 5 min after that the waiter came back and asked if wanted drinks. we ordered and he left and brought the drinks about 5 min after that and then left. the bloody mary bar was pretty awesome. he came back about 10 min later to ask our food order and if we wanted bread. some one else brought the bread and dropped it off. so about 25 min from seating our food order was taken. we ordered a variety of things from the waffle to crab eggs benedict (there were 4 of us). the food finally arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes after we had sat down. it is obvious they were stalling for time by the ordering process. they made sure you never felt forgotten but that is a bit long for the food we ordered. i don't expect food to be out in 15 minutes or less unless it is pre-made but 2 hours for a "brunch" is really more time than it should be. they need to work on that part of it or forget the "brunch" concept they are trying. because of the high prices for everything i saw on the menus i probably will not go back unless invited by someone for a special occasion. the cost versus the food is just not that wow enough for me to justify it. parking is also a problem. downtown is awful for parking unless you want to pay $8-$10 just for that.

agoodchoice. a pretty impressive micro brewery, and they make their own root beer too! my personal favorite was the bourbon beer. as for the food, some things are good, while others are down right amazing. it is a little pricey depending on your choices, but that's the case anywhere worth going. the place draws a solid crowd consistantly, so i wouldn't believe all the bad reviews you read. it can be an extended wait to be seated if you have a large party or get there in the middle of the rush. and yes, the chocolate peanut butter pie is to die for!!!

great food. fabulous ambience and extraordinary customer service!!! put this on your travel itinerary just like i did. the place is reallygoodand giving some real competition to big city pubs out there. they also have great social media team as they responded well and in few minutes after i posted on my instagram and facebook. we ordered seafood pasta which was so yum and some cod dish with jasmin rice. it was fresh fish and they have specials on days. ask what’s special dishes they have that day as fishermen grabs different stuff everyday. bummer was this cod fish was darn cold idk why!! i have no complaints as it was so delicious omg. we mentioned that it’s kind of cold and they right away took it off our bill. i mean we were amazed somewhat. i loved the place and very upscale environment.

the food here is good, that is a given.  whether it is the perennial jambalaya fetuccine to the more seasonal fish that you may get in the summer, you will be pleased.  i go for the ales more so as their brew-master has done well on their individual varieties and they pair well with the food.  i do not give a higher rating as it is almost impossible to get in during the summer as it becomes a tourist destination.  rightly so i guess but it is limiting. they have an adjoining restaurant that also does well called orso.  you will not be disappointed in their food menu either. bother places are helpful in addressing allergies and in providing somegoodalternatives to try.

if you enjoy a very, very loud atmosphere and drinkinggoodbeer while eating average food that is overpriced, then glacier brewhouse is your kind of place.  the beer is excellent and i believe the newer brew houses we're seeing in town are a direct result of gb having quality brewmeisters.  unfortunately, their success is what ruined the place for us.  the dining area design is so poor the noise reverberates and makes the place sound like you're in the middle of a grade school playground full of children.  you have to shout a bit to be heard by people at your own table.  and while the food has a bit of imagination, the execution isn't there and you're served what could have been spectacular but somehow was never taken that final step beyond average.  to make things worse, the prices are so high the average food quality leaves you feeling ripped off.   but its the noise that drove us away.  the last thing we want when we go out to eat is to be forced to listen to the conversations of all the tables around us because everyone has to shout to be heard above the din.

exemplary service despite the packed tables and wonderful food. we had been recommended the chowder and calamari for starters and these did not disappoint. the bbq salmon and herbed halibut for mains were very verygood- great flavours, presentation and taste. a very busy establishment but don't let the size or the crowd put you off. bookings recommend.

i eagerly ordered the copper river salmon. it arrived at my table overcooked and dry! i had a small pile of garlic mashed potatoes with three pieces of grilled asparagus hidden underneath my small serving of fish. rolling around the edge of my plate were five cooked cherry tomatoes - cold as ice. overall a very uninspiring meal. definitely not worth the price tag nearly $30. i won't go back. if you go definitely avoid any seafood! maybe do their pizza. it lookedgoodwhen i observed another patron seemingly enjoying it. ???

fantastic! i can't wait to go back :). copied from my yelp account from 1/26/2010

my coworkers and i love the glacier brewhouse. we have our christmas party there every year and sometimes our department "meetings" several times throughout the year :)

this past saturday night we went there and we all had different dishes. our dishes included: barbecued baby back ribs, seared ahi tuna, rotisserie prime rib, jambalaya fettucine, wild mushroom chicken rigatoni, and the rustic scallop and prawn skewer. we started off with the calamari and red hot wings and i started off with a cup of the alaska seafood chowder. i always do.

their seafood chowder is a must. so tasty! so delicious! my scallop and prawn skewer was so tasty. the scallops and prawns in their lemon butter sauce just melts in your mouth. loved it, loved it, loved it. i would definitely order that again. one of my coworkers ordered the seared ahi tuna and it was his first time having it and he absolutely loved it. i've had it before. love it, love it, love it. everyone loved their dishes. the only complaint that we had from our party was that the jambalaya fettucini was really spicy but i told her it was supposed to be spicy. the waitress also told her it was pretty spicy but she thought she would be able to handle it...lol. i had a bite of it. it was pretty delicious. i would've had it with a beer or red wine not just water. other than that, everything was delicious. my coworker's wife ended the night with their creme brulee which is always agoodchoice. i always take their peanut butter pie to go. it is so good! it has a chocolate cookie crust, creamy peanut butter center and chocolate ganache (icing) topped with homemade peanut brittle.

when it came to their service, we are always pleased with our waiter/waitresses. our waitress this past weekend was very sweet and thorough. she had a sense of humor and was very personable. one of my coworkers playfully teased her about the alcohol prices and she handled it very well and very professionally. kudos to her for that...lol. excellent service. our reservations were for 7:30pm and we were seated promptly. a+ from start to finish.

this of my favorite restaurants here in alaska. keep up the great work.
