not a fast food joint.. ginger is a classy restaurant that serves food for individaul taste. we have taken our out of state guest and recommend it to our friends. it is higher priced than a diner or fast food place but you pay for the superior obeisance, service and quality of food. i have been many times and intend to gobackmany more. great job ginger.

guy - no offense but you are wrong! i and my man ordered this at a birthday party of 8 people in november and have not gonebacksince! sorry but you are wrong! oh and also not real scallops, they were from skate wings....anyone that knows fish at all would know that! i have however had other good stuff there, but no to the ahi. sorry guy :)

awful! the food was overpriced and not quite edible. the chicken in the chicken curry was horrible undercooked, when sentbackit camebackout the same way, still raw and pink. not only was all the food terrible, they treat their staff like dirt. you could hear yelling and insults in thebackof house from table. never goingbackthere.

meh. i went their for lunch and the food was too expensive for how it tasted..... it was salty on my taste and i'd probably not go there again... maybe to try their scallop dish one day... their pork egg rolls were delicious though - probably worth goingbackonly for that

great food great service. this is our favorite downtown go to place for a nice dinner before shows. our staple go to is their signature mac-n-cheese and oyster shooters. penne pasta stuffed with four cheeses topped with huge flavorful scallops. oyster shooters are the tastiest i've had anywhere. excellent contemporary atmosphere and professional staff. we've tried other dishes which were also very good. on one occasion during an extremely busy night before a big show we ordered the mac-n-cheese and another pasta dish called mee krob (based upon others we saw being served it looked fantastic). the mee krob we received was a sticky over-sugared blob that looked like it had been poured out of a can. the shrimps and other constituents looked like 'cup of noodles' material. after immediately pointing this out, the very nice and professional waiter removed the dish and the charge from our bill w/o issue and brought me another oyster shooter. now that's service. we'll bebackfor more mac's n' shooters!

so disappointed. the atmosphere was beautiful. i am sorry to say that was the best part of the night. there is not a lot to choose from that was not spicy or had a curry sauce. the four of us all tried something different. one dish was overcooked, one meat dish only had a couple of bites of meat, mine was great but it was an appetizer so not a lot of. two of us didn’t finish our dinners and left hungry. our table was set with a salad fork and an entrée fork, which they took away just after we ordered along with the little bread plates. not sure why they did that since i was having a salad. as the bus person came and took my empty plate she purposefully dumped my forkbackon the table to reuse with dessert. with these prices i would be surprised to learn that they didn’t have enough forks to serve the restaurant. i would like to have seen fewer tables so you can exit without having squeeze through the very narrow opening. overall not a great experience. too many other restaurants to choose from to gobackhere.

my husband and i dined here once, and once was enough sadly. we were very excited about trying a new place. from the decor outside it looked "hip, new and upscale". interior was the same, clean....nice. welcoming but the food just was not cutting it. food was something i could have prepared at home and presentation was not appetizing. my husband doesn't mind the place so much as i do. but i do not see us goingbackfor a while....possibly ever. maybe in a few years some things would have changed and hopefully it's gotten better....

atmosphere awesome, drinks yummy, food average and server not soo good. i love the design of this restaurant! finally a place in ak that is cool and hip! but the food was not very flavorful. i had the lettuce wraps and they were bland and small portion. the pomme frites appetizer dipping sauce was yummy though. i had a ginger mojito and champagne cocktail, we're both excellent. the server seemed very inexperienced and not very socially normal? i guess he wasn't very charismatic and friendly. if i gobackto ginger it would be to have good drinks at the bar and to enjoy the nice atmosphere.

outstanding! the team at gingers won us over. professional and friendly. order the filet, perfect dish. we will bebackfor that and to try items we wish we had ordered!!

disappointing. ginger was very disappointing. i enjoy trying new dishes but nothing on the menu really amazed me. my plate seemed like classic americana and was really salty. i might bebackif a group of friends suggest it, but i won't suggest it myself.

i just recently moved to an anchorage from new york city and this is,so far, the o ly restaurant that could rival the complexity of food nuance that nyc has. 2 thumbs up for this amazing restaurant. a must do often!!

amazing food. banana lemongrass curry soup is phenomenal. first time here will gobackmany more.

the best restaurant i've been to in anchorage so far. i got the baked sea scallops mac and cheese...the flavors were incredible, the scallops huge, the sauce creamy and cheesy. i had a "mouthgasm" sitting there in my seat. the portion was huge and i ate till i was stuffed and still had enough for another meal the next day. the banana lemongrass soup was also delicious. very unique and a must try. will definitely headbackto this great find before leaving the city in a couple of months.

fabulous!. i've never had a bad meal at ginger -- and i've had almost everything on the menu. i even broke down and ordered the grilled tofu on cous cous a few weeks ago -- and it was delicious! at lunch, i love the sliders or the fast lunch specials -- easy way to get a good lunch quickly and getbackto work. the service is always impeccable, and the ambience is great.

the food was very good, but very, very overpriced. our waiter was very slow and managed to totally screw up our bills when we asked him to split it. don't think i'll be goingbackagain

a favorite. the servers and bussers are friendly, helpful, and pleasant. there has only been one time i went to ginger and my steak was not cooked the way i liked, before i had the chance to say anything my waiter noticed, apologized, and insisted i order desert on him. then he immediately took itbackto the kitchen. my water is always refilled, and i am always checked up on.

the food is new and exciting. the flavors are delicious.
the halibut is a particular favorite when it's in season. it is always cooked perfectly.

the decor is modern and intriguing.
