just had the steak bites and artichoke dip apps. steak bites: tasty, peppery, tender. artichoke dip: rich, nice garlic.

not from around here are you?. ginger looks like it belongs in downtown seattle. the staff is great, this is a great place to come for a higher class evening in anchorage. order a smoked martini if your a scotch person looking for a good martini or vice versa.

best restaurant in town!. i love ginger's! my husband and i are on a pretty strict budget, but at least once a year we splurge and go to ginger. while it would be totally affordable for the normal 2 dinners and water - but we do the 2 bottles of wine, appetizer, two dinners, 2 desserts, and after-dinner drinks. if you like spicy you must try their wasabi pom-frietz (french fries) amazing!

beware the beef cury. it contains enough salt to turn a bath tub of water into sea salt.

disappointing. we chose ginger for a special occasion, arrived early for a pre-show dinner. allowed two hours to dine. server was friendly & seemed efficient. appetizer was adequate, salad was good. ten minutes after our salads were cleared (40 minutes in) our server came to apologize for the delay in entrees. proceeded to wait 45 more minutes for our food, unable to catch her eye. clearly a mistake made in the kitchen, because i walked by on the way to the restroom and overheard her arguing with the line about where her "medium filet" went (my entree!) finally, 5 minutes before we needed to leave, she brought a clearly kept-warm pork tenderloin to my husband, which was dry and flavorless, and my medium filet was very rare, tough, fatty, overseasoned (pepper to make it look cooked?) and impossible to cut with the butter-knife they provided. server offered to "box up" our meals (seriously, so we could eat three hours later?) so we could make our show, and did comp the entrees, but the occasion was ruined and the food was not that special.

that's a little funny to me cause for over a year now ginger has not had the ahi and scallops on their menu. so i can honestly say that the ahi is always fresh at ginger.

mediocre food at stellar prices. the food, service, portions and overall feel of ginger is nothing to brag about. if you go in the winter be prepared to wear your jacket for your entire meal as the entire restaurant feels like an arctic entryway. i did give this place a second chance before writing this review but again was not impressed or even satisfied with anything other than the art on walls and the vibrant red paint..which is truly what drew me in to eat in the first place. nothing was too impressive except the mac and cheese with scallops my friend ordered..which in a way seems like a waste of good scallops but at least was a good sized portion and had more flavor than the fish i'd ordered. i wouldn't recommend ginger to anyone i know or ever return.

not a fast food joint.. ginger is a classy restaurant that serves food for individaul taste. we have taken our out of state guest and recommend it to our friends. it is higher priced than a diner or fast food place but you pay for the superior obeisance, service and quality of food. i have been many times and intend to go back many more. great job ginger.

for brunch specifically, their take on breakfast tacos delivers a more-ish combination of hoisin chicken with a spicy, tangy, lime and sriracha sour cream, a textbook representation of the sweet/salty/sour holy trinity of south-east asian cuisine. other brunch options are fairly standard – think fry-ups, eggs benedict, french toast and omelettes – with the upside being that their full lunch menu is also available.

we've been to gingers many, many times.  our first meal there was incredible and every visit since has been the same.3 words:  mac and cheese!!  being from wisconsin i've had an endless variety of mac-n-cheese recipes but ginger's wins hands-down.  rich, creamy, cheesy and never greasy.  the dinner entree is actually grilled scallops with mac-n-cheese being the side dish, but the mac-n-cheese is half gone before the first scallop is touched.  it's that good!
every dish we've had has been just as tasty with not one single "miss".  usually every place has that one dish that doesn't work, but not here.
gingers is pricey, but a good way to lessen the hit on your wallet is to stop by for their happy hour.  i'm not sure when it starts but it ends at 6pm.  drinks and the bar menu appetizers are half price.  the bar menu appetizers are an eclectic selection that are all very tasty and they even have a mini sized appetizer of their mac-n-cheese (yes!!).

we were craving for a nice dinner that day. so we decided to go to ginger. it is located right in downtown anchorage. this is an upscale fine dining restaurant and looked very nice, a bit busy. we ordered thai coconut chicken skewers, caldera crusted big eye ahi tuna and mee krob. we absolutely loved the food. the coconut cashew rice was perfectly complimenting the coffee crusted tuna; and the beans, i never know they can be this tasty! even the mee krob, which was rice & vermicelli noodles sauteed with chicken, pork and shrimp was too good! food was expensive, but it was worth it! the portion sizes were good. we wanted to try their dessert, but we were so full that we had to drop that idea.
