skip the mee krob. we have dined at ginger several times in the past. recently on a return visit we opted for oyster shooters and carrot ginger soup appetizers; both were fabulous. for our entrees we should have stuck with the always sinfully good scallops 'mac & cheese', but the mee krob delivered to table beside ours looked so good that my husband had to order it. the steaming mound of noodles surrounded by large, plump shrimp, and chunks of pork and chicken was just too tempting. unfortunately my husband's mee krob arrived as a dense, sticky, and much smaller serving of luke warm, overcooked noodles so cloyingly sweet that it should have been listed as a dessert. there were exactly 3 rubbery shrimp that had been overcooked to the size of a nickel, 2 tough bite-size pieces of pork, and not a single morsel of chicken. it reminded us of the 99cent boxed noodles that you add water and microwave for 5 minutes. because the service had taken a little longer than usual (slow even for a show night) and we had tickets to a performance, there was no time to reorder. instead we shared my mac & cheese and the embarrassed waiter, without hesitation, offered to remove the mee krob from our check.
