nice atmosphere. staff very friendly. brussel sprouts good. spicy shrimp dish good. pizza very average. not a spanishtapasbut worth the trip.

great tapas. awesometapasmenu, great wine list and always a live performer or wine tasting!

fantastic for a date!. my husband and i have started becoming frequent customers of g&v. we enjoy trying new foods, and this is a great place to sample a lot of little dishes at once. known for havingtapasand wine, g&v also has great service and a relaxing atmosphere. we highly recommend the sangria, and get it in a pitcher if you plan on drinking more than one glass! the goat cheese is amazing, as well as the petit filet mignon and the herb grilled lamb chops.

my husband and i have been coming to g&v for years! on our last few visits we have noticed a few rather unfortunate changes! for one they've expanded the menu(no really! by expanded i mean it's actually too large to hold in your hands) this place used to be "the spot" for fantastic tapas,drinks and personality! on a recent visit i noticed a lady(i was told later she was the owner!!!) speaking down to our waitress who was very
busy i might add( all while she sat at a table drinking and socializing) we had heard that g&v was under new ownership but it seems that it has been passed to the wrong people! there are still wonderful specials coming from the kitchen and a couple of stellar employees whom we love and adore! i have brought people into g&v for greattapasand drinks but more for the love and personality that has always been shared by our favorite bartenders and waitresses! the place seems stifled and unwelcome and i am assuming it's because of the change of hands.

very disappointed. gervais & vine has been one of my favorite spots....until april 28th. we arrived around 6:00 pm and waited for our table on the patio for about 30 minutes. the waiter took our order - it didn't arrive even after 60 minutes of our waiting time. no salads / cold tapas, no hot dishes - nothing!!! on our follow up question we've received an answer - the kitchen has a back-log of orders... we saw a couple at the next table, who arrived 15 minutes after us eating their coldtapasjust fine... we left hungry without food and the waiter didn't even bother to offer any remedy! paying for our drinks, gift card or something - nothing! our evening was ruined. i wouldn't recommend this place to anybody - something is completely wrong with its management.

a great communal experience. while columbia is an unlikely place to find greattapasgervais & vine serves just that. the attached pics speak volumes about presentation and i can tell you personally that taste is commensurate. i particularly enjoyed the shrimp gambas with its hot and spicy sauce mixed in with just the right amount of garlic. it's a great place to take a date becausetapaslends itself to a communal atmosphere as the food is shared and also because g & v has a great selection of wine.

nice nibbles. consistently good nibbles and service. gets very busy and loud but a fun place to hang out with friends. hot or coldtapas- haven't hit a klunker yet and ordering a variety becomes a meal. one of our favorites.

sample and unwind. great place to enjoy a variety of differenttapasfor a realistic price. try multiple new wines with their sample sized portions. great atmosphere for a date or fun night out- just know you'll be a bit crowded on friday and saturday nights. you won't be the only one who knows it's good!

well done :). gervais and vine is not the best restaurant in columbia, sc. but i can confirm that it's in the top 10 and maybe top 5.

however, if you are hungry...this restaurant is not for you. thesetapasare very small portions of decadent meat courses with small salads or veggies on the side. when i say small i mean small!!! that would be the only negative. plus i do not enjoy watching someone prepare my food...things like using a rag to hold onto a hot piece of duck while your slicing it...and a customer clearly watching how unclean that rag maybe...just not a pleasant site. :(

top columbia spot. one of two best wine spots in town (cellar on greene being the other), and home of delicioustapasand a nice atmosphere. a must try if you're in columbia, and the best vista spot.

one of my faves in columbia. g&v is a greattapasand wine bar in "the vista" section of columbia. you can get wines by the half-glass (fairly generous) and full glass (quite sufficient) as well as bottles to go with a variety of hot and cold tapas. they don't take reservations so on friday and saturday night there can be a bit of a wait if you hit at prime time, but i've always managed. they do offer some more traditional entree sorts of things, but i've always stayed with thetapasoptions. a great place to get some friends together and taste a bunch of different items. they have recently added a lunch shift which is a great chance to try some of the dinner standouts at lunch time prices. as a final bonus, they do a $19 pre-fixe dinner every monday with a different theme every week. the price includes an app, entree and dessert or dessert wine.
