fantastic wine list. g&v is agreatdate spot...you can taste, sip, and chat all night. the food is above average. love love love the eggplant fries with honey yogurt sauce. the lamb chops, scallops, and costa brava are all delicious. the duck is just ok. the flavor is there, but the skin could be crispier and ideally the fat would be rendered down a bit more. if i had to point out a flaw it would be the service. its a little slow and the staff in general could be more enthusiastic about being there to serve guests. i'll always go back just because i like the vibe.

fantastic for a date!. my husband and i have started becoming frequent customers of g&v. we enjoy trying new foods, and this is agreatplace to sample a lot of little dishes at once. known for having tapas and wine, g&v also hasgreatservice and a relaxing atmosphere. we highly recommend the sangria, and get it in a pitcher if you plan on drinking more than one glass! the goat cheese is amazing, as well as the petit filet mignon and the herb grilled lamb chops.

good food horrible managment. me and my husband came to gervais & vine recently, the food and sevice wasgreatbut the manager on shift seemed to be intoxicated.

my husband and i have been coming to g&v for years! on our last few visits we have noticed a few rather unfortunate changes! for one they've expanded the menu(no really! by expanded i mean it's actually too large to hold in your hands) this place used to be "the spot" for fantastic tapas,drinks and personality! on a recent visit i noticed a lady(i was told later she was the owner!!!) speaking down to our waitress who was very
busy i might add( all while she sat at a table drinking and socializing) we had heard that g&v was under new ownership but it seems that it has been passed to the wrong people! there are still wonderful specials coming from the kitchen and a couple of stellar employees whom we love and adore! i have brought people into g&v forgreattapas and drinks but more for the love and personality that has always been shared by our favorite bartenders and waitresses! the place seems stifled and unwelcome and i am assuming it's because of the change of hands.

disappointed. gervais & vine used to be one of columbia's hottest spots forgreatfood, one of my go-to choices in the vista area. but my last visit left me wondering, "what happened to this place?"

my server, while very sweet and nice, had little knowledge of the menu. each time we asked a question about the food, she had to go back to the kitchen to get an answer for us. when it comes to meals that end up being around $50 a person (with two glasses of wine each and before tip is computed), we like the servers to show some passion for good food and know the menu well.

most of the food was just ok -- definitely several notches below what i had eaten there in the past. a chicken dish we ordered was underseasoned and the accompanying sauces were bland. the spread menu continues to be agreatchoice, and the goat cheese one was the best thing we ate there, by far.

i'm disappointed. i hope we just caught the restaurant on a bad night, and it's not suffering from management/ownership changes. this place has agreatdining room area with some of the best ambience in columbia. it used to be one of the shining stars among the vista restaurants, and i hope it will be back at that level soon.

agreatcommunal experience. while columbia is an unlikely place to findgreattapas gervais & vine serves just that. the attached pics speak volumes about presentation and i can tell you personally that taste is commensurate. i particularly enjoyed the shrimp gambas with its hot and spicy sauce mixed in with just the right amount of garlic. it's agreatplace to take a date because tapas lends itself to a communal atmosphere as the food is shared and also because g & v has agreatselection of wine.

all-time favorite!. besides having the first date with my wife here (nine years ago), this place has always been a favorite of ours and our friends. a constantly changing list of wines and tapas, as well asgreatcocktails and beers, makes this amust-stop for foodies. but what sets it apart is the feel of the place. it looks comfortable, feels comfortable and the staff definitely backs that up. i highly recommend sitting at the bar and watching the guys cook on at least one visit. its an amazing show.

they havegreatjazz on saturdays (and thursdays?) and host wine tastings and charity events all the time. its a real, hometown operation, which makes it even more special to us. i could blather on and on about howgreatit is, but you just need to go there and try it. oh yeah, and i agree with the others...locals call it "g and v".

affectionately called g&v, it is always fun, whether with friends or on an intimate date. wines good - food dependably delectable. busy, butgreatplace to see and be seen.

one of my faves in columbia. g&v is agreattapas and wine bar in "the vista" section of columbia. you can get wines by the half-glass (fairly generous) and full glass (quite sufficient) as well as bottles to go with a variety of hot and cold tapas. they don't take reservations so on friday and saturday night there can be a bit of a wait if you hit at prime time, but i've always managed. they do offer some more traditional entree sorts of things, but i've always stayed with the tapas options. agreatplace to get some friends together and taste a bunch of different items. they have recently added a lunch shift which is agreatchance to try some of the dinner standouts at lunch time prices. as a final bonus, they do a $19 pre-fixe dinner every monday with a different theme every week. the price includes an app, entree and dessert or dessert wine.
