didn't like our order.... my wife and i just returned from eating atgeraldi'son a saturday night between 6 and 7pm.
one a scale of 1 to 10, the setting would get a 6. the service tonight would have gotten a 3. the food? 1 or less.
my wife had the lasagna, i had the mediterranean pasta.
i've edited this review after my wife reminded me that we should have told them about our experience as we left. we weren't asked at all, even though it should have been obvious we weren't really happy customers.
i used the phone call mostly as a vent, and a chance to say "hey -- we left with food barely touched in carry out boxes, and didn't even get asked if we liked our experience".
the owner called back to ask what happened from caller id. he was cheerful about it, and i admitted that different tastes may have explained our less that satisfying experience.
kudos. anyone who can smile over the phone to a disgruntled customer and make the feel better deserves a second chance.
our feelings about the food? my wife, who admittedly isn't a big lasagna fan, found it to be very bland. couldn't tell if it even had any meat. honestly, i felt that even canned spaghetti sauce would have been an improvement.
in my opinion, i found the mediterranean pasta to be dry. the serving was large, but i found it better in the menu than on the plate. i had trouble tasting the pesto sauce, though there was obviously some on the bottom of the plate when i poured it into the carryout box. there definitely were olives, tomatoes and artichoke hearts, but i felt like they were diced into very small pieces and a bit scant. admittedly, i haven't stirred the carryout box yet to "freshen it up" for a second chance. i usually really enjoy pesto sauce, and love olives and artichoke hearts.
the garlic bread was great when out fresh and hot. would have been really welcome before the food to set the mood. cooling, i found it slightly on the "overly buttered, not quite enough garlic" side. but still pretty good.
the wait staff didn't appear to be in the back instead of helping customers. just that they missed noticing our dissatisfaction. and didn't ask us about our experience before we left.
the owner's call bumped me from a "the last time was too much" to a "well, some people seem to love it, so there must be some things that are really exceptional on the menu".
