no meat in the lasagna? just lots of pasta and tomato sauce and cheese. garlicbreadwas good. waitress was friendly but disappeared to answer the phone and be cashier, i gave up on getting a box or ordering anything else and had to go up front to get the check and pay.

this is another hidden treat in nwa tucked away close to the university. the parking lot is small, but there is a little room for overflow at the end. my kids and i are in love with the mushroom ravioli on the appetizer menu. although it's a little expensive ($8.00 for 6), we feel it's worth it! the also bring garlicbreadand marinara to your table. i've tried the spaghetti, the pizza, and the lasagna. all have been delicious. the lasagna is meatless, but the portion is large enough to share or bring home half for leftovers, and at $8.00 is a great value. you won't miss the meat in it. the cannoli for dessert just makes the meal! the restaurant is small, but clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

great.. got the chance to try this place yesterday after putting it off for forever - after all cheap italian is always a worrisome topic. geraldi's is a sneaky little italian joint nestled down one of those roads you probably rarely go down unless you live on it or went on it for the sole intent to get to geraldi's (or perhaps wes's). not a terribly big place and the interior is certainly nothing special (honestly the giant median in the middle kind of kills the restaurant flow). it was a tough choice between one of the delicious sounding sandwiches and one of the noodle dishes. i opted for the safe route - spaghetti with meatballs. the portion was huge. the noodles were all well prepared (but did have that "already made" flavor to them) and the sauce was very, very good. the accompanying garlicbreadwas more buttery than garlic-y, but still enjoyable as an appetizer. the meatballs were a wee bit mushy, but still had a nice flavor (though could use a little extra spice). service was very fast and the waitress was especially friendly in both greet/departure and table side. overall, if you're seeking italian food then you won't find better in fayetteville (especially for the price and portion). my only complaint is the additive meatballs were basically a dollar a piece and not very generous in size. i look forward to visiting again and trying out more of their selection!

delicious! portion sizes were huge. i'm overstuffed. garlicbreadwas awesome, red sauce was the best. i preferred it over the alfredo sauce. stick with the red. the calzone was huge. definitely worth finding in the little hole-in-the-wall kinda place. service was excellent. i have no complaints!

very hospitable and good food. david was extremely nice. made an unpleasant experience into an experience i will not forget. garlicbreadwas delectable and definitely worth going there just for that. i decided to try out their pizza and i was not disappointed. lots of cheese on it if you are a cheese lover! to top it all off i had a slice of their tiramisu. it was an absolutely delicious treat. save some room for it if you can.

i had the spaghetti and meatballs it was really good! the sauce had some kind of spice in it that made it amazing. they bring you a huge basket of garlicbreadwhich is really good as well. the only disappointment was the gelato. we ordered the vanilla bean gelato and its texture and taste was just like vanilla bean ice cream out of a blue bunny tub and they were claiming it to be gelato. other than that it was a good experience and i will be going back!

awesome pizza's and sandwiches. tucked away from busy streets, geraldi's is worth going out of your way for. the pizza's are always great and they have some of the best sandwiches in town; the meatball marinara is simply awesome with crustybreadand plenty of cheese. a word of warning though - make sure you share the calzone!

didn't like our order.... my wife and i just returned from eating at geraldi's on a saturday night between 6 and 7pm.

one a scale of 1 to 10, the setting would get a 6. the service tonight would have gotten a 3. the food? 1 or less.

my wife had the lasagna, i had the mediterranean pasta.

i've edited this review after my wife reminded me that we should have told them about our experience as we left. we weren't asked at all, even though it should have been obvious we weren't really happy customers.

i used the phone call mostly as a vent, and a chance to say "hey -- we left with food barely touched in carry out boxes, and didn't even get asked if we liked our experience".

the owner called back to ask what happened from caller id. he was cheerful about it, and i admitted that different tastes may have explained our less that satisfying experience.

kudos. anyone who can smile over the phone to a disgruntled customer and make the feel better deserves a second chance.

our feelings about the food? my wife, who admittedly isn't a big lasagna fan, found it to be very bland. couldn't tell if it even had any meat. honestly, i felt that even canned spaghetti sauce would have been an improvement.

in my opinion, i found the mediterranean pasta to be dry. the serving was large, but i found it better in the menu than on the plate. i had trouble tasting the pesto sauce, though there was obviously some on the bottom of the plate when i poured it into the carryout box. there definitely were olives, tomatoes and artichoke hearts, but i felt like they were diced into very small pieces and a bit scant. admittedly, i haven't stirred the carryout box yet to "freshen it up" for a second chance. i usually really enjoy pesto sauce, and love olives and artichoke hearts.

the garlicbreadwas great when out fresh and hot. would have been really welcome before the food to set the mood. cooling, i found it slightly on the "overly buttered, not quite enough garlic" side. but still pretty good.

the wait staff didn't appear to be in the back instead of helping customers. just that they missed noticing our dissatisfaction. and didn't ask us about our experience before we left.

the owner's call bumped me from a "the last time was too much" to a "well, some people seem to love it, so there must be some things that are really exceptional on the menu".

awesome food. i came from out of town to visit my mother - this place came up in a list of great restaurants in fayetteville, and urbanspoon did not lie. sis liked her lasagna, and mom's mediterranean pasta with pesto and veggies was fresh, excellent, and light but filling. my son loved his pizza - i tasted it too, really good traditional style pie. my italian sandwich was one of the best i've ever had - great toasty bread, tasty meats, and the kitchen graciously added black olive & banana peppers on request. (make sure you omit the mustard - i saw it on the menu as one of the ingredients and caught that before i ordered - why would anyone want mustard on an italian hoagie?) that same greatbreadwas used for an ample basket of terrific garlic bread. loved this place, and will come back next time i'm up.

needs improvement on service and wait staff. i love the food here, but will start ordering for take out due to poor wait staff. the wait staff kept walking past my table totally ignoring that i was sitting there. the one waitress just kept her eyes to the ground as she walked by. unfriendly and unattentive wait staff, but excellent food. take out is my only option for eating at geraldi's.
