i recommend the ‘jeeb’ menu. there’s no stress of having to decide on what to order, and the food just seems endless. there’s a variety of different thing to try and everything was delicious, especially the hummus, fish and the knafeh dessert. i love the fact that everything is shared as well, so everyone gets a taste of what’s on the table.

amazing food. one of the best lebanese cuisine in town. baba ghanouj and duck were amazing. 5/5 for food though but going for 4.5 because of the slow service. in all, definitely recommended. good food covers up the slow service 😉✌🏻

gemmayze street is hands down some of the best middle eastern i’ve tried outside of the middle east and i could not recommend this place more (especially for people like us who struggle to find super flavourful vegetarian food!)

we chose the hummus, which was some of the thickest, creamiest and smoothest hummus we’ve ever had, the garlic was a good level, not too overwhelming, and i loved the topping of roasted chickpeas and paprika oil. it was potentially the best hummus in auckland (gemmayze can fight it out with ima for that title) 9.5/10.

we also ordered the falafel, which was likewise spectacular, with a tender interior and firm and crisp exterior flecked with sesame seeds. it was served with a wonderfully subtle parsley cream which was almost as thick as the hummus which just topped it off, 9.5/10.

the star of the night had to be the arnabeet. this was a large hunk of delicately spiced cauliflower cooked til tender, and garnished with flaked almonds and raisins. it was served on a bed of thick and surprisingly sweet tarator (tahini sauce) which i could have eaten by itself it was so delicious, it’s sweetness worked perfectly with the savoury of the cumin, and the cauliflower was drizzled over with a sweet sauce i can’t identify but was also delightful, straight 10/10

because we are fitspos we got a couple of side salad options too - the tabbouleh, which was very citrusy and fresh but you couldn’t have too much of it because it was quite potent, and the khyar, consisting of lengths of cucumber served on buffalo curd and flavoured with mint and coriander. our best way to describe it was deconstructed tzatziki, and it was a nice refreshing dish which helped to break up the heaviness of the other dishes, both 8/10.

just as we were complaining about how stuffed we were the waiter brought over the dessert menu, and i mean it’d have been rude not to. we tried the ba’alewa, which was the beautiful love child of baklava and brandy snap. the exterior was flaky pastry and it was stuffed with a thick pistachio cream and sprinkled with crumbled pistachio, served with persian candy floss and the most melt in your mouth passionfruit gelato. we’ve never had anything like it and it was glorious, 10/10.

would 10/10 recommend coming here and ordering your body weight in mezze, the food here really is out of this world and is certainly one of of our new auckland favs.

i would love to say this was great - apart from the raw chicken that we may pay for later it was great. lunch isn't a full menu either so that was a bit of a let down.

this was overall a very pleasant experience! the staff were friendly and attentive and the place had a very relaxed vibe throughout.

each dish was impeccably presented and the meats were cooked to perfection. there were many new and exciting flavours!

the only complaint is the way the seating was arranged with heaters only on the edges, tables in the middle gets quite chilly. something to note when dining in winter.

it is a great place to catch up with people and try new foods!

the food was dressed to impress and that it did. nice sharing portions full of flavour loved how colourful the dishes were. shared 6 dishes amongst 3 of us.the seasonal dessert- fejoia tarte tatin was delicious. set in st kevin’s arcade adds to the experience, the open setting meant it was a little hard to hear.

never expected to find this in kroad! the ambiance is great really relaxing and laid back vibe but also elegant. staff were also great attentive and service was super fast. we had the set menu which was $60 i am pretty sure they change their menu each time because my brother had different dishes compared to what we had last night. entree was great! really honest simple flavours and beautiful plating there were 8 of us so they gave us two of each dishes, no meat thought so all vegetarian. since we didn’t have any protein for entree we were all expecting lots of protein for mains! although the flavours and plating were really exciting and well presented we were left wanting some more for the mains. we were given only two protein (fish and 1 chicken kebab stick) the chicken kebab we got was very salty i didn’t enjoy it at all, however the fish was lovely. the portions are really small for $60 per person (hmmm). it’s more of a tasting menu from my point of view...and for desserts you get 3 different type it wasn’t my kind of dessert, however the chocolate cake was good! overall it was an “ok” experience lots of hype i guess and a bit over priced...

the falafel was delicious, best falafel i've ever had. the hummus was good and had a very generous portion, however the pita was cold and when re-heated it still became cold very fast. the house made soda was light and refreshing.

it's hard to put into words how glorious the food is here. every dish we got was killer. the hummus is like no other, the lamb shoulder will satisfy you enough to be happy if it was the last meal you ever ate.

the people are all so lovely and happy to be there, which is rare and only happens in places where staff are treated well :)
it's not cheap, so go ahead and save up for that shit if you need to.
treat yourself!

another nice night at this great restaurant .... the food is beautiful - both to look at and to eat. however. after being welcomed and sat at our table, asked our preference for water and told the name of our server ... we were abandoned! waited 15 minutes before asking for the water and menus. also - we had the jeeb. great. except the first 3 dishes came with two small (delicious) pieces of bread. we asked for more, as not nearly enough to enjoy with the quantity of hummus, tabbouleh and fava beans. came as a bit of a shock to get an extra charge! ouch.
