i would love to say this was great - apart from the raw chicken that we may pay for later it was great. lunch isn't a fullmenueither so that was a bit of a let down.

never expected to find this in kroad! the ambiance is great really relaxing and laid back vibe but also elegant. staff were also great attentive and service was super fast. we had the setmenuwhich was $60 i am pretty sure they change theirmenueach time because my brother had different dishes compared to what we had last night. entree was great! really honest simple flavours and beautiful plating there were 8 of us so they gave us two of each dishes, no meat thought so all vegetarian. since we didn’t have any protein for entree we were all expecting lots of protein for mains! although the flavours and plating were really exciting and well presented we were left wanting some more for the mains. we were given only two protein (fish and 1 chicken kebab stick) the chicken kebab we got was very salty i didn’t enjoy it at all, however the fish was lovely. the portions are really small for $60 per person (hmmm). it’s more of a tastingmenufrom my point of view...and for desserts you get 3 different type it wasn’t my kind of dessert, however the chocolate cake was good! overall it was an “ok” experience lots of hype i guess and a bit over priced...

couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, go for the ‘jeeb’menu- you’ll be stuffed and this includes a huge array of dishes so you can try a bit of everything. great atmosphere and location 👌🏼

we had a largeish table of 8 so we opted on getting the $65 jeeb set meal. it was a three course sharing meal. they also asked if there was anything on themenuwe would like to have so that they could include it.

the entrees consisted of flat bread, hummus, tabbouleh, khyar (cucumber), mihshee flayfle (stuffed capsicum) and anrabeet (cauliflower). all the dishes were really tasty but the cauliflower one beat out the rest in flavour, although the capsicum and cucumber ones were quite close. we hungrily guzzled them with the bread and it was just great.

some were already getting full when the mains came out. we had the falafel, hapuka as the market fish, and lamb shoulder with the batata harra (potatoes) on the side. the lamb alone would have been worth the trip, crispy and sweet skin with tender and juicy meat served with mougrabeye (kinda like large israeli cous cous). i also thought that the fish was cooked really well.

for dessert, we had the knefe and the halooum. the knefe was crispy and sweet with a raspberry sorbet on top. the halooum was almost like an ice cream sandwich using cheesecake base. it had a lemon sorbet which was a bit to sharp for me. we did find it weird that we were served three knefe and two halooum but we were too stuffed to ask about it.

our servers were great, friendly and helpful and kept an eye on drinks and water for the table. they also packed the leftovers for us to take home.

a really great place for amazing (amount and quality) food and service. i should also note that the main dining area overlooks myers park and does have a good view of the sky tower.

turkish food on k. road i hear you say?
this statement immediately brings visions of 4am shisha hits in-between mouthfuls of yogurt and hot sauce laden kebabs ..... a girl in her early 20's on the table opposite is throwing up the quarter pounder combo she ate before binge drinking her way into oblivion.  while you devour your kebab, k rd. trannies wander past looking to devour you.  it's late, is that the birds chirping?  it's time to go home before booze depression kicks in ....

no, this was not one of those nights ...... let's bring it back.

st. kevin's arcade on k rd. is full of surprises, the best surprise of all?  gemmayze st.
lebanese food made with so much love i felt it was valentines day in my tummy.

if you have the numbers on the table, go the jeeb.
it's a setmenufor $60 per person which will slap your ass and call you judy!

"$60 is a bit pricey isn't it?", i hear you say.
"no, you fool!  it's not!"

do you remember as a child receiving a new packet of crayons?  you remember how vibrant and colourful they looked when you first opened the packet?  that's the food at gemmayze st.
the food doesn't taste like crayon, but if you were one of those retarded kids who ate their crayons instead of drawing with them, you need to come and eat here because this food tastes just how you thought that crayon was going to taste.

you will feast.
you will give thanks.
now, put the crayon down and come eat.

i love lebanese food... thanks to gemmayze st! my girlfriends organised a birthday dinner for me at this place. the setmenuis $60, between the 3 of us it came with 5 random entrees, 3 mains and 2 desserts off the menu. for the entrees, we got babbaganoush, the roasted cauliflower, eggplant, fattoush salad and purple cabbage. i dont know what they put in there, but the depth of flavour of every dish was perfect... i was blown away, almost had an orgasm in my mouth, i would turn vegetarian for these lebanese food. the entrees came with turkish wraps. at this point, we were so full already but we couldnt and wouldnt stop eating. then came the main dishes. we had sparks on our eyes each time a dish was brought to our table. we got the falafel, lamb and the octopus for the main dishes. the falafel and lamb were cooked to perfection, but i wasnt a fan of the octopus, but then again it’s a personal preference. i think the octopus didnt go well with the rest of the main dishes. then the desserts. we got the chocolate mousse and the tumeric cake. not something i would order off themenumyself, but wow were they amazing. what a great complement to a 3 course meal. i love the atmosphere, so vibrant and lively... so much like k road. the lebanese lady who served us (and studied journalism) was so nice and friendly. i couldnt fault anything here. was such a great night to remember. i’ve recommended this place to some friends who have since came to try the food for themselves. how they raved about the food too, the food here doesn’t disappoint. i would love to come again to try their other dishes.

i was blown away by gemmayze st. we came here for a birthday dinner and we decided to go with their set menu. for $60 per person you get basically everything.... and it was worth it!

first of all the service was just lovely, they were very friendly attentive and efficient. they explained themenuand every dish. if you do go to gemmayze st, i recommend their house soda or their cocktail.

we entree came with some lebanese bread for the table, and i absolutely loved everything! i especially enjoyed their fatteh aubergine! that dish was seriously an explosion of flavour and texture. their roasted cauliflower was also pretty darn good!

i would definitely recommend the lamb shoulder. it was just to die for! so soft and succulent! i have no idea what they did but it totally worked!

the other interesting and surprising dish was the turmeric cake. i never thought turmeric as a sweet dish, somehow i always associate it with savoury dishes. but i was totally wrong! that cake in combination with strawberries was just the perfect finish for the meal.

highly recommend! absolutely love the place! im sure yoana setiawan would agree!

my first time of many! we attended for a birthday with about 20friends. set in st kevin's arcade out in the foyer with super cool krd coffee houses and eclectic 2nd hand stores all around, you instantly feel like a cool kid. but, it also has this homely feel which is very inviting. we all knew it would be shared platters but what came out really blew our minds. the food was, well incredible. we pretty much spent a few hours umming and oooing, drooling and at one point someone licked the plate. the tender meat satisfied the die hard carnivores who sniffed and wondered how to recreate it on the barbee while washing it down with the lebanese beer they couldn't get enough of. the hummus omg, the broad bean whatever #dead, and only photo i managed to get was of this crazy deliciously artistic dessert. we went home super chuffed and didn't stop talking about it the whole weekend! the staff, amazing service and they knew themenuinside out. it's taken over as 1st on my list to take guests and out of town friends to, to enjoy an amazing culinary experience!!!!!!!

gemmayze st is located within st kevin's arcade on k road. tables are within the centre of the arcade which is such a great setting. heaters are dotted around which makes it a warm space too.
service was fantastic from all the staff, but particularly our waiter who knew the wine & foodmenuinside & out. he was friendly & engaging even bringing out some sage for us to smell before choosing the famous sage tea - that man deserves a medal!
we chose the degustation typemenuwhich at $60 each was incredible value. all dishes were tasty & beautifully presented. there was nothing we didn't like.
the lamb is so well cooked & meltingly tender, as was the fish. the hummus was some of the best we've tried, and the desserts were a work of art - and just as tasty as they look.
you must try this place if you have not already. if you like lebanese food (or turkish/greek), you will love it.
