mrs kan do and i were walking around rosalie and saw gelateria cremona. we were a little full from dinner at pannini woodfired gourmet pizzas and we had also shared a coconut ice cream soft serve at the west end markets, but curiosity got the better of us and we dropped in here to taste a couple of flavours.
these guys have an unusual and novel set of flavours available (e.g. hot cross buns, banana and caramel, kulfi, durian, salted macadamia and toffee).
mrs kan do and i were feeling a little conservative with gelato flavours at the time, so not much on the list appealed to us.
we both tasted the kulfi and mrs kan do tried the dutch chocolate.
the kulfi had notes of ginger and cardamom which made it quite nice, but i would have liked somepistachioin it too.
mrs kan do was quite happy with the taste of the dutch chocolate.
we will likely visit again to sample their flavours in more detail next time.

our local gelateria close to home. we visit on a sunday afternoon for a gelato fix. phuong tran is happy to see durian gelato on the menu board and asks for a scoop on a waffle cone. it ispistachiofor me.

the gelato is quite soft and while phuong enjoys her durian cone, mypistachiogelato lacks flavour. more crushed pistachios please!

a mothers day treat catching a movie next door at the blue room cinebar, we wandered out like most of the theatre goers and grabbed a gelato!
having read everyones reviews i was very excited to try the goods at this gelateria!
we eat with our eyes, and was dissapointed that all gelato & sorbets were covered! i am a visual person and reading a board with minimal description puts me off (maybe this is why i love gelato messina so much).
anyway, i decided on the earl grey & pistachio. hubby had the snickers & strawberry tiramisu (mothers day special).
price was reasonable at 1 scoop for $5, 2 scoops for $6.50.
pistachio was nice with the texture of the crushedpistachionuts through it, but flavour very mild. the earl grey was excellent. bold in flavour and if you love earl grey tea, its a must. i sampled hubby's and the snickers had gooey caramel through it and tasted just like a snickers bar! the strawberry tiramisu was very mild and nothing really stood out, no overwhelming strawberry flavour and no hint of coffee or liquer or savoiradi biscuit/cake. i certainly am not deterred and will be back to try other flavours

came here on sunday afternoon, the place was empty. i was bringing a crowd, but the staff were very friendly and the service was quick. i thoroughly enjoyed the experience, thus i was really happy when gelateria cremona came to the university of queensland as a food truck.

ordered thepistachioflavour; tasty and not overwhelmingly sweet, which is perfect for those not having the sweet tooth. also tried the tiramisu, creme brulee, and salted caramel; all were perfectly made, got the rich and creamy texture along with perfectly balanced flavour. my personal favourite is the durian flavour, which is i think, a seasonal menu.

a perfect place to enjoy a delicious gelato. would definitely be coming back here in the future!

so my main complaint about this place is its character-building lesson in self control. i want one of everything!! but after taking a deep breath...what we instead calmly decided on was a take home trio of coconut, dutch chocolate and salted caramel. husbandio's favpistachiowasn't on the board today, nor was my earl grey. hot tip from the friendly staff is their facie page always has the days offerings. but we loved what we got though & are always happy to try something different.

the fact that the flavours are mixed up regularly (eg xmas pudding / hot cross bun / lamington & even vegemite for aussie day) is genius and keeps us coming back regularly.

thanks summer - you nasty wench - for todays excuse to visit!!

absolutely amazing gelato! the flavours taste real - eg mint choc chip has flecks of mint leaves &pistachiotastes like the nut, not some man-made flavour equivalent of so many others. we'll definitely be back & perhaps try some of the savory flavours - vegemite was on the menu when we were there.
