sea food galore . amazing prawn dishes . spread over a sprawling green location gajalee has great interior and goodservice. some dishes seem overpriced , but the quality of the food andserviceis unquestionable . for all sea food lovers , this is your place .

we went today afternoon it was almost empty. in spite of their car parking was empty they had blocked it for general public like us and i guess were waiting for some vip guest to arrive. so we were asked to park in other side of road which i felt is rude considering current mangalore weather in which as a family we were asked to walk across the road . ordered for chicken sukka and neerdosa it was ok not that great. however what lacks isservicefrom staff ; we had to call out to get their attention. overall average experience; management needs to work on customer experiences.

patheticserviceand staff attitude. order took more than an hour to arrive. soup arrived at the end of the meal. staff does not know how to talk to guests

we were on a trip to udupi and mangalore. started very early from bangalore thinking to reach mangalore by lunch time. the road from hassan was not very good and took us a while to reach mangalore.
it was my birthday and after searching on zomato for sea food places we settled on gajalee and was definitely a good choice.

the place is huge and beautiful. ambience was good.servicewas very slow and staff was little arrogant.
for food we had ordered prawns, bombay duck fry, sumai curry and neer dosa.
every tasted nice. i like bombay duck and prawns in particular.

parking not a problem. they got parking place inside.

the ambience is good but the food is lacking in quantity. its not hot. the staff doesn't seem to be interested.serviceand quality wise the place sucks.

you know, this place used to be very good before. this time i was extremely disappointed with the patheticserviceand food quality. we ordered a chilen malai tikka, and they served us cold malai tikkas that were taken out of the freezer. we asked them to replace it, and they microwaved the same dish and brought it back. absolutely horrible service, and the price they charge for the shit they serve people, my god, outrageous!!!!!!! i will never visit this restaurant ever again. they didn't even serve us water until we were finished with our meal. and we had to remind them twice to bring us some water. and to think that this was my favourite restaurant during my childhood. really hurt and disappointed!!!

one of the finest in mangalore.. from ambiance and food to service.. ambiance is colonial, food is amazing, from soup-starters to main course.serviceis quick and professional. they have seating outside as well.. overall a great place to spend your perfect evenings.

the best seafood andservicein mangalore,hands down!!! don’t look anywhere else,just trust the food and the wonderful staff!!! me and my family had the most wonderful lunch here and we had the time of our life. love love love!

theservicewas poor. felt more like the waiter only understands sign language..! don’t ever order noodles or chinese items, fast food joint right outside this hotel gate serves it better.

a perfect place for a great sea food. food is delicious.serviceis excellent. great ambience. the prawn ghee roast was lip smacking. as well as tandoori pomfret. love to visit again.

used to be a big fan of the original gajalee in mumbai , years ago , that is before they got popular with the in crowd and developed an attitude 😎 , however one thing that remained constant was the fact that they served the freshest sea food possible . a visit to this mangalore made me go back to being a fan again. located in a colonial bungalow inside the circuit house compound ,with an outdoor sitting area with a bird's eye view of the city , the place scores a perfect five on the location front . the minimalist , well spread out but formal seating inside the old wood beamed bungalow is really comfortable in addition to being real please try to the eyes.

was there for a relaxed lunch with some friends and one complain i will start with is theservice, though am not sure weather to blue the kitchen staff or theservicestaff , first the order took the longest time to come and more irritatingly , additional breads ordered mid meal took over 20 minutes to be served , it is a common practice in indian meals to order additional bread mid order and most places serve that on a priority , so expected the same , anyways that was a small price to pay for an excellent lunch.

as we had two vegetarians amongst the four of us , in addition to the seafood and chicken ,we also ordered a portion each of dal fry and veg kholapuri and both these dishes were actually better than what we expected to find in a sea food specialty restaurant , full marks to them . for the carnivores amongst us we ordered a portion each of prawn pulimunchi, chicken ghee roast and a tawa fry pomfret , the fish and prawns were like a dream come true but the ghee roast could have been better. all this was accompanied by assorted nans and roties and some beer dosas.

the combination of everything there translated to an afternoon , well spend , will definitely want to go back and will also recommend the place for relaxed get togethers.

best option for seafood in mangalore especially crab ,prawns ghee roast, crab ghee roast, squid deep fry with neer dosa and chicken fried rice are my favourites here. kulfi also available in mango, sitaphal and malai flavours tastes good👍🏻expensive but highly satisfied with the quality, taste andserviceby the staff.

this is my visit here after a long time.standard ambience for this restaurant.nothing extraordinary.
the seafood here is brilliant.we had lobsters, pomphret masala fry , prawns dry, roast chilly chicken .we liked the roast chilly chicken so much that we asked for two rounds of it .
we ordered the mutton curry with mutton from bannur.it was so well done that the mutton literally slid off the bone with neer dosa .my friend naveed loved the neer dosa because with had a shine he says is indicative that's it's freshly made .
we had fresh lime soda ..this place had really large parking space available as it's situated in the old government circuit house plot as well.theservicestaff were really great
