we went today afternoon it was almost empty. in spite of their car parking was empty they had blocked it for general public like us and i guess were waiting for some vip guest to arrive. so we were asked to park in other side of road which i felt is rude considering current mangalore weather in which as a family we were asked to walk across the road . ordered forchickensukka and neerdosa it was ok not that great. however what lacks is service from staff ; we had to call out to get their attention. overall average experience; management needs to work on customer experiences.

good ambience. had ghee roast chicken,chickenbiryani and chocolate mousse. food was good. chocolate mousse was too good. first time hadchickenroasted in ghee.

it was during my recent visit to mangalore, that during our ride from the airport to the city, my brother who has spent 5 years in the city and knows mangalore in and out, showed me gajalee and said we should come here for a meal someday, they make terrific seafood.
we finally did go there couple of days later for a sunday lunch. the restaurant is in the circuit house premises and is set in a beautiful colonial style bungalow. though they have dining halls with air conditioning too, we chose to sit in the front verandah, and enjoy our meal looking at the beautiful view outside.
we ordered paneer ghee roast,chickenghee roast, butter pepper garlic prawns,chickenmaharani, methi matar malai along with tandoori rotis.
the food was great, while we didn't enjoy thechickenghee roast as much because it had large fibrous pieces ofchickenwith bone. but the rest of the meal was certainly a delight. the prawns were succulent, the paneer super fresh, thechickenand vegetarian main course were both delectable.
what i loved even more than the food is how beautiful the place was with its old world charm and the view!
service was decent. prices reasonable. meal for 4 with 1 beer was around 2100/-

unfortunately wasn't able to take any food photos, our waiter was very prompt in serving our food and once on my plate i couldn't wait anymore to sample it. 😅🙈

this is one of my favourite places to eat in mangalore. and old style house which has been turned into a restaurant. outdoor seating is available with a great ambience. food is tasty and priced well.

this place is known​ all over for its sea food. the mangalore branch is typically an old, big house turned into a restaurant. great ambiance. they have open air seating too. we ordered some mocktails which were average. their prawns butter pepper garlic andchickenghee roast were good. i wish the quantity were a bit more for the price they command. an ideal place for a family or friends get together.

i am a visitor from delhi and was on a lookout for traditional food from mangalore city. per zomato ratings gajalee toppedn the charts and hence, became my choice of restaurant for the night. i tried the famousechickenghee roast. but to my disappointment, thechickenwas extremely dry and did not taste any good. but the staff was very polite and cancelled the dish from my order, since i was displeased. then i went ahead and tried chilli fish, which to my surprise was amazing.it had the perfect balance of spices and the freshness of the fish. the ambience is great, inside as well as outside.

the best tandoorichickeni have had in south india hands down! i mean grill is good but i am a sucker for tandoori . location and the ambience is great! best in mangalore for sure for peaceful delicious dinners!
