best italian anywhere!!!. this is the original joe's pasta-n-pizza started in 1991 across the street and cannot be equaled anywhere for their italian dishes or new york style pizza. the flavors are what you want when you are in the mood for the best comfortfoodon the planet. they make their marinara sauce from scratch, bake their own rolls slathered with tons of butter, and every bite of their deliciousfoodmelts in your mouth as it explodes with flavor. their pizza-by-the-slice is the best i've ever put in my mouth, and i've eaten at all the new york and chicago standards. none of the big names comes even close to joe's/pond. the alfredo sauce is to die for, the extra rich creamy romano cheese flavor is so distinctive.

their service is more than friendly, helpful and attentive. you simply could not imagine more caring and courteous waitstaff. expect to relax and enjoy yourself in a genuinely homey atmosphere.

i have eaten here every day of the week they are open and have seen nothing but ecstatic customers and families enjoying themselves. i am sure that the negative reviews here are from the low life albanian competitors in the area that would do anything to steal customers.

although i have not eaten their english fare, i can't wait to try. these are wonderful down home people that care about their customers and it shows.

what all can i praise about this place! it’s my husband and my favorite restaurant. i’m plagued byfoodallergies, like gluten, and have a hard time eating out. here i have a huge selection to choose from and you wouldn’t even know it’s gluten free thanks to their talented chiefs and baker. my husband doesn’t have anyfoodrestrictions but is happy to eat there as it’s all so good.
the atmosphere is also fun! the decor is all quintessential british kitch from a life size tardis to classic rock albums. the bar is great to hang in with great cocktails and british beers on tap. if you're a football (soccer) game, they have special opening times so you can watch your favorite british team play live!
they have a separated area that is great for parties (i've used it twice for birthdays). there is a nice open ”family” area with no tvs so you can enjoy distraction free dining and game place with darts and other fun stuff.

service is very very slow, the waitstaff is more interested in talking to each other and are always on their cell phones.  menu is ok, overpriced for the portions.  thefoodis good however, just dont be in a hurry when going.  and where is the "pub", they only have four or five beers on tap, and limited bar.  if you want a pub feel, fo to the londoner or the ginger man...they have lots of beers on tap.

across the pond. british type eatery--thefoodwas awful, the music was too loud & the fake accents from the waiters was a joke. a real flop. thefoodtook forever to come out & it was covered up with cheese. we will not be back. there are too many other places that beat this by a mile.

where's the pub?. at first glace the prices may surprise you, but the portions are exuberant! take in stride that an item such as the shephard's pie is truly enough to feed three. no joke! thefoodis quite decent, and all made fresh. the rolls were fresh, and such a great start to our meal. they were fresh and light, but let's just say it. you don't need a ton of parsley all over them with the olive oil. it's not necessary, just overkill. less is better, and these rolls are perfect without all the green!
this was my first time coming here, and i will say this now. ..yes, thefoodwas good, but the atmosphere is cold. no warmth, and the staff, well the menu had more personality than our server. i saw the owner talking to a couple of patrons, and seemed very nice. unfortunately our waitress was very distracted with her 2 tables, one of which was at the bar, and she held no regard for follow up. i tried 3 times to ask for some hot tea or something warm, and finally gave up. i don't know her name, she never gave it. in fact when she gave us our bill, she took off before my husband actually could ask about dessert. i came there, because i saw good reviews, and i wanted to try some good english pub food. thefoodwas good, but where was the english pub? well there was about 3 beers on tap, all of about 7 wine glasses hanging, and no evidence of any real wine to choose from. very limiting, and being that it was 5 o' clock, it would have been nice to just relax. we felt a bit cold, not cozy, despite the sign saying "come in a stranger go out being friends". not just the staff at hand, but the decor could use some warmth to it. it is a pub, right??
regardless of the price of the meal, i will go back sometime and try again. hopefully we just got them on an off day. even on an off day thefoodwas good. my husband's fish and chips were decent. fresh fries, homemade, just needs more cod. two fillets and 2/3 of a plate of fries is a bit uneven. the mashed peas, were great, and the chips n' gravy was really hearty and inviting. you cannot really mess up shepard's pie, it was good, a huge portion, with homemade mashed potatoes to top. this recipe is good, a bit tomatoey, but over all good. i would eat this again. i hope to try other parts of the menu, hopefully next time we will get a server willing to talk, and walk us through the menu. maybe even wanting to stick around and add onto the bill by just making suggestions. we are the customers, we don't know the menu. tell us what is to die for. tell us what is the #1 item, and why.

yes, this place lacks when it comes to decor ("nice" plastic coverings on tables, cushioned seats, random posters on white painted walls eric.) and a bar that is awkwardly located in the middle of the dining room, but there is a nice vibe to the place, beer on tap is legit, and thefoodis good.

if you are not familiar with british cuisine don't worry: the menu plays it safe so you can't go wrong. they even have pizza.

i started with an order of chips (what they call fries) with gravy: thick cut potatoes similar to steak fries in a gravy that's never seen drippings (very authentic brit fair). tasty: think canadian poutine without the cheese curds.

i also had the guinness beef stew: very hearty and delicious.

menu gets better and better. have become something of a regular at 'the pond" and every time it's better and better!!
now offering a huge gluten free menu as well, but i have fallen in love with the chicken tikka masala and the scotch eggs (these are specials right now but going on new menu). for dessert, try the bread and butter pudding with custard...yummy. this place is a gem, they are moving soon and will have beer and wine..can't wait :)

bloody brilliant all round - 5 stars. honestly, i have no idea whatsoever what these negative reviews are about - i strongly believe that these are
unscrupulous "rivals" trying to poison a rightly growing reputation of kindness and excellence. they are so far wide of the mark that is all i can think of.

the owners of this establishment, which was great when it was joes, excel at providing amazing care and attention to every single customer i have seen there in out 15-20 visits and, far from "skaterboy" wait staff, the restaurant is entirely family run by mom, dad, son, daughter in law, younger son and 'adopted" daughter - i have sent dozens of people to "cross the pond" and, to a man and woman, they have loved the food, service and kindness shown them - yes it can, at times, be a little slow, but that's because thefoodis cooked to order rather than heated up outta a bag.

now, onto the food, which the star telegram professional critic thought was outta this world, draw your own conclusions on these "foodies" motives, my family love the english specials and the pizza too, an old reminder, of their great ny pizza style days but i have celiac friends that claim it's the best gf menu in texas, to their knowledge. try it and see i guess.

these owners, i think it's lee and emma, are exactly what we need - hands-on, loving and considerate owners, more worried about your experience than turning a quick buck on you so ignore the one or two frauds here and go experience what they do first hand

thanks guys and see you wednesday night for real football season ;-)

a "pub" that is anything but that which it states. you don't go to any pub thinking "i should bring my own beer.", but apparently you do at this one. on too of that i was excited,to get a great plate of fish and chips but instead got fish, chips and even more chips. the plate was practically all chips and the fish looked far to small under the chips. while we're on the fish it was far to greasy and cold. it was a huge hit and miss that i wanted to love but waiting two and a half hours for that was far to long and i only saw my server there times once for my first and only cup of water, once for myfoodand another time for my check. this is just disappointing and i will not be returning.

great food, warm-hearted restaurant. from across the pond is a family-owned and family-run restaurant in colleyville. when you walk in you’ll immediately be greeted by either one of the owners, lee and emma, or another lovely member of their family. soon after being seated, you’ll be served some of the most delicious bread with marinara sauce you’ve ever eaten. i know weird right, italian bread at a british restaurant? well, not so much. from across the pond used to be a pizza/pasta joint, so lee and emma decided to keep some of their delicious italianfoodon the menu.

speaking of the menu, they have a wide range of foods. if you’re in the mood for italian, they have the usual fare – lasagna, alfredo, pizza – but you must absolutely try their pasta michelangelo. just trust me. it’s delicious. if you’re in the mood for british, they have phenomenal bangers and mash, and their fish and chips are delicious and authentic. i’m british myself and have taken four generations of my family here and we all agree: this is authentic stuff. the menu is going through a bit of a transition now... you can order “off the menu” and get chicken tikka masala (which i have heard is fantastic), as well as scotch eggs and battered sausage. all things i can’t wait to try. and i’ve heard there are more exciting things to come. and finally, if you have enough room for dessert, they have the most mouthwatering bread and butter pudding. not too sweet, creamy with a bit of a crunch.

i love this place for so many reasons. the owners are so lovely and take time to interact with as many diners as they can. you can tell they have put their heart and soul into this restaurant. they have thursday night karaoke early enough to be kid-friendly. it’s byob so i can save money and take my own bottle of wine. they have the largest gluten-free menu around (lee and his son both have celiac disease). add to that goodfoodat a good price point, it simply can’t be beat.

great fish & chips but why the crappy italianfoodand pizza delivery?
rolls served frozen in the middle.
shepard's pie was made with instant potatoes, frozen, then microwaved. pretty gross.
great fish & chips though.

food fair, service dreadful. i was sent to from across the pond by a friend... thefoodwas pretty good, however the problem i really had was the service... the empty tables were never cleaned off the entire time i was there.. it was slow, but they just left dirty dishes sitting out and i had to ask 3 different times for a drink refill. when i was ready to go, i had to ask 4 times for my bill... i just don't think they care about the customers, it's obvious the owner was busy eatting off a customers plate and then never cleaned her hands.. gross!!!

from across the pond is a great restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. the british menu items are great, and they still have the old joe's favorites for when you're feeling nostalgic. the owners are incredibly wonderful, and their accents aren't fake!! it only makes sense for a restaurant so aptly named to have two people running it that grew up on thefoodthey serve. you'd be hard pressed to find a better local business with as good of service or traditional british pub favorites. be sure to stop in and give this place a shot. you won't leave disappointed, or hungry!

thefoodwasn't bad at all. however, with the name and promise of a british menu, i found their selection very limited. thete was maybe 4 british dishes on the menu and the rest was stuff i could get anywhere. just a bit disappointed. the fish and chips were very good but took forever to get to the table during lunch without many people in the place.
