food is great ...but pathetic sitting and parking arrangements ..!!!

the worst lunch of my life

although the place has been standing tall for so long and many more have opened up by the same name , this place still is an icon for a lot of people.
a typical dhaba with pathetic sitting , parking is an issue here.
people love this place for its daal and
shahi paneer yet i have never really liked it.
maybe coz daal has ghee oodling over it or maybe coz of their small quantity.
plus they give water like pickle always.
i have never been a fan of their food also coz they have a very little menu. still they are happy as business is going great.
go their only if you can digest heavy food .

being a delhite..but my almost all relatives in punjab..i have been to place numerous times since my childhood..and place is famous for its maa parontha...everytime i end up in ludhiana this is my place to go to have lipsmacking food...at times when someone from ludhiana comes to delhi..i most of the time get it packed for myself..:d..i just love it..!!

nothing great! overrated food, known as paradise for punjabi food lovers but tell me how is the food even punjabi it is just like any other dhaba food joint in the city which serves psuedo punjabi food

one of the best desi food is here. dal makhni and shahi paneer with prontha the best combo.
taste of food is excellent. service is fast. parking is little bit problematic task here, located near railway station so area is also messy but in front of its food every thing fades.
don't expect good ambiance or fine dine or silence here. come here, eat and go. one thing to enjoy here is the food.

nice place for a family to eat.
everything of this dhaba is do yummy and delicious.

this is one of my fav fav destination.
the reason being:-
• pure veg
• wide variety to offer
• rich laden desi ghee roti
• ultra quick service
• proximity in reaching the area

try any curry be it malai kofta, shahi paneer, cheese tomato, chana masala all have the same effect of making your feeling go woaooooo.!
curries deep fried with tinge of spice and pure desi makkhan it's something which makes up your fights at home and makes them melt like the butter on hot chappatis.

this is not the place if you are an ambience freak or like smooth parking place to be in. but a pure pure paradise for pure veg, desi ghee, tadka tandoor lovers.

do not expect to be silent or be in silence with music flowing in the background but be prepared to do chai mai all around and enjoy your food...!!!

excellent pure desi ghee punjabi food. though the quantity offered is far too less but it is indeed supper yummy. if you love sweet curry cheese tomato is exceptional and if you love a slightly spicy touch sahi paneer is the one to dig your nose into. the variety is breads is absent and needs a total revamp, the tandoori is its super hit item but it should add sone more to its menu

friends is one of the oldest & good veg dhabas in the city these guys have prospered & even opened up hotels now.all menu items taste good but certainly daal makhani,daal tadka,cheese tomato are best options.parking is a hassle,waiting is a usual phenomenon.only thing which hasnt changed here is the taste & menu options but rates have sky rocketed,quantity has dipped.i wont highly reccomend this place for special visit since veg dhabas like gyaan,bansi are offering a wide variety of options.but one thing is sure tht there is a special class of people who like only friends & they are not wrong.being close to railway station it is frequented by visitors from outside ludhiana who are old clients.no doubt food is hygenic ,service is okay.one can visit while going to old city.

cheese tomato is world class

old ludhiana is full of flavour and this place is the king of dhabas there . it is a miniature dhaba. really really less seating , typical dhaba but food is top class. the right amount of ghee butter mirchi and everything! making my mouth water already. well the paneer butter masala., their butter naan, their daal makhani well u have to be crazy not to like it. the bill ul get at the end will be feather lite on ur pocket ! the approach to the place and all r a big hassle but well kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padhta hai! mind the traffic ;p

this dhaba has always intrigued me, for its out of ordinary concepts. for instance, if you ask them for butter naan, they would usher you towards delhi dhaba and say, ''bhaiya wahan se milega.'' they dont make dal makhni, nor do they have a menu card. these things are worth musing. see, whenever you go to a dhaba, ordering the type of dal, roti, sabzi becomes debatable with fellows, so such theories help.
now, talking about the food, the dal is authentic punjabi type, they start cooking it from 5 in the morning and it is made to cook in its own flavours untill, its ready to serve. the shahi paneer is rather sweet. the best thing you can have here is the latchadar parantha. it is undisputed champ here. crisp to the core and hot out of the tandoor, with generous brushings of desi ghee.
one more thing the pickle they serve along has more fluid than chunks, so you can take it with roti acc. to taste, rather than struggling with a full chunk.
the place is somewhat congested.
this dhaba is favourite among the people of ludhiana, youll have to wait for good 10 minutes to get a table.
if you are looking for authentic punjabi meal, this is the place to be plus its very light on pocket too.
