best chocolate almond croissant in the whole world, and i really hate exaggerating. le plateau, is filled with french bakeries, but fou dessert is the place that tops them all. i ordered a cafe lattemadewith fresh almond milk, and had to go for the chocolate almond croissant. it's scrumptious, it's heavy, it's filled with chocolate and almond paste, it's what a croissant should look and taste like. their products are also bio and always served fresh. you will enjoy your experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

d went for an afternoon snack with the best friend, k. d&k decided to go crazy on cakes. we both took 2 each! d also wanted the matcha latte. wemadea great decision. the cheese cake was creamy but light. the chocolate raspberry cake wasmadeof dark chocolate but balanced with the raspberry sauce. the passion fruit cake is perfect by the time you finish a heavy meal as it is slightly sour and can lighten up your taste buds. the rose cake was d's favorite! it is surrounded with a cake of pistachio and a light rose mousse and jam inside. the matcha latte was slightly sweeten and bitter. d like it.

montreal: you’ve come a long way, baby. when i lived in vermont from 1988 to 1999, imademany trips to montreal in desperate search for more diverse food. my typical day might include the mandatory smoked meat sandwich at schwartz’s, dinner and grocery shopping in chinatown, and the pick-up of a couple of bags of bagels from fairmount bagel. during those years, the dining scene wasn’t especially sophisticated. nor was my palate. far too many miles from montreal now, i rarely get back. so when a recent business trip to upstate new york gave me montreal as a choice of airports, i pounced on the opportunity to pay a visit. food choices are now far more fabulous. needless to say, i stuffed myself silly, sloshing through the snow and sacrificing my stomach to make the most of my very limited time in the city. the result: i have recommendations of restaurants and more for an idyllic day of eating in this special city. breakfast whatever time you wake up, know that bagels are waiting. both f

montreal eats featured below are some of our montreal eats, excluding our three dinners at garde manger, les 400 coups (best meal of the trip) and joe beef. i will apologize in advance for the lack of photos in the actual restaurants or of missing food items, either in my excitement, laziness, my distracting bellyache or for consideration of other diners (due to lighting issues, my persistent flash could not have always been welcome). i hope you enjoy what i have here and stay tuned for my dinner posts coming soon! 1. schwartz's montreal deli (3895 boulevard saint-laurent, montreal ) our very first stop in montreal, we had to get our hands on some smoked meat. as my boyfriend and i are huge fans of katz's deli in nyc, it onlymadesense to go straight to this montreal institution. we arrived late afternoon, so lucky for us we did not have to wait in any lineup (which i hear is often very long). we ordered two medium fat sandwiches (in hindsight, i should have probably ordered fat) but
