fo-go. i have been a few times over the years and each time i go i am less impressed. the greeters are always rude. the table staff is wonderful, polite, helpful, friendly etc. the meat is all that really gets me, the side dishes and salad bar is less then what i would expect for the price per person. i would recommend it for theexperienceonly.

great experience. my family and i have enjoyed fogo de chao for years and recently went to one of their competitors restaurants. we were reminded how great the fogo de chao overallexperienceis and we spent our entire evening talking about why they were better than the competitor. fogo de chao will always be our family favorite!

it isn't that the meat is bad.... it is the price that is disturbing. okay, so i enjoyed some parts of this diningexperienceand others i can do without. i thought that the salad bar was pretty good for a buffet. there wasn't anything that stood out that i would have to try again. i had a glass of wine that was pretty average and it was almost 16 dollars, which of course it said nothing about the price on the menu. the meat is pretty good. like many people have said the filet wrapped in bacon is good. personally, there is no way i ate even close the $50 worth of meat. i am used to fine dining and spending a good amount of money when i go out, however, i would much rather go to a steak house and get filet wrapped in bacon with shrimp and a salad and dessert than spend $50 on meat.

i had the ultimate disappointing evening at fogo last night in mn and was so disappointed i felt you deserve to have this shared - i've visited fogo in chicago, las vegas, dallas and here in minneapolis many times with clients and have taken team members and my wife to the various restaurants. i believe last night was the last a two+ hour snore fest that was nothing short of disappointing.

i was at fogo with my three teenage kids and wife. we'd decided it would be a fun evening for the kids toexperiencethe gauchos running around and serving wonderful meats. unfortunately our evening ended in tears, fights and anything but good memories. the issues ranged from meat quality well below what i would expect to service that would be considered bad at an applebees.

started off on an uneven foot: after being seated i was handed the wine menu and told the waiter i wanted to look it over to make a selection. however, after waiting 10- min for him to return i just had us go to the salad bar. after completely finishing this portion of the meal i was still holding the wine menu and signaled multiple times to order wine, only to be finally availed much later. we were given new plates promptly which was the one expeditious thing about the meal. having done that it took several minutes when the cards were green for the first guacho to show up. ok, fair enough three or four gauchos swarmed for a few minutes and we were off. except the meat quality was really subpar (constant event throughout the night, not sure if you guys are cutting food costs or what, but the meet was stiff, stringy and just not grade a). one of the gaucho's slipped and brushed a large stain across my shirt - with an 'oops' as the only comment of apology. with the first few pieces consumed we flipped cards back to green, except this time no gauchos actually stopped. many ran past us, but none stopped. eventually the filet mignon showed up so we grabbed that, but of course were hoping for more. my daughter in particular specifically wanted to get chicken. so i grabbed one of the waiters, a gaucho and eventually two more waiters and asked if they could send that and the ribeye. each seemed to suggest that they would, but there we sat. all the while my daughter, myself and one of my sons has the cards green but for 15 minutes no gauchos stopped. at this point my youngest son decided he'd just be done and he and my wife started to get seriously bored. eventually the first waiter showed up and asked if we needed anything to which i told him "nobody has been by since we last spoke". some 5+ minutes later the gauchos were finally directed our way and we were finally able to grab some additional food. by which point three of our five plates had been removed because several family members had just given up, so of course we eat quickly and hoped to at least call it a night. our plates were removed and then we sat. after 15-20 more minutes of waiting for the check i was nearly about to just walk out and try to pay at the reception desk but my wife got up and tracked down assistant manager jay miller and let him know we'd been waiting so long. he brought us the check and offered his apologies and brought us two cheesecakes and a couple chocolate mouse to try to make it right (i guess five us were intended to spit the 4 of them).. in any event by this point it was just too little too late and we finally left the restaurant almost 2 1/2hrs after we'd entered, one of our sons actually crying because he was so frustrated.

at this point, having sat so long from when kids stopped eating to actually leaving the ride home was punctuated with fights - which aren't entirely your doing i get, but as you can imagine the only memory my kids will have of your restaurant are anything but positive.

for what it's worth - at the very least you should retrain your gauchos on their 'search pattern'. our seats on the middle of the south wall may just have not been where their eyes searched. i don't know. it was just not a great night.

disappointed,

the food was excellent the service was strange. we went to fogo de chao based on urban spoon after my son's college graduation. the girl at the front was just weird. she kept asking my husband "if he could behave?" i thought she was joking until she turned to me and asked me the same question. i assured he would and she let us in. we travel extensively and this was a first. other than that it was a greatexperiencedefinitely a carnivorous man's type of place. my husband and son loved the place. wish it would open in honolulu

a girlfriend and i dined at the restaurant a few months back and our overallexperiencewas not great. i wrote a short review in their comment section on the website to describe our experience. we dined in for restaurant month and aside from our server being phenomenal, every other aspect was completely underwhelming. we had to practically wave down the gaucho men (not sure what their called) to slice meats for us to try, and overall maybe because of restaurant month the overall quality of the meat selections were honestly terrible. no matter the temperature we selected, every cut was chewy and basically not even consumable. i frequent fogo often and thisexperiencewas just bad. i honestly would have given two stars because i understand every restaurant has an “off” night, but to make matters worse after my short review a female manager reached out to me via phone and asked about my experience. she then asked me for my credit card info so she could issue a refund (which i insisted wasn’t necessary) and she continued to say she would look for the transaction and give me a call back. three months later i have never heard back from that manager nor fogo. i even tried to call back a few weeks later to follow up and was told the manager was on the phone and could she call me back. now four months later still not a word. i can get past mediocre food knowing that it doesn’t happen often, however the clear dismissal from their management and unprofessionalism is the reason i will never return. my family made reservations for thanksgiving and because of that manager i had my sister cancel. i will not support nor spend my hard earned money at places that don’t appreciate my business. do better fogo de chao.

i love dining at brazilian steakhouses on rare occasion. i wish this one would have been better. while most of the meat we got during the full churrascoexperiencewas decent, i got fairly tired of the temperatures of my steaks which said they were medium and were very much med-well to well done. i love lamb, but it tasted as though the lamb was just coated in lemon pepper and was overdone.

the sides that are available with the churasscoexperienceare grilled bananas, fried polenta, and mashed potatoes. the fried polenta was delicious, but the mashed potatoes were barely room temperature and very watery. i suspect if they did not have so much moisture, it would have been the texture of elmer's glue.

overall, i would say i am fairly disappointed with the food. however, the service was good.

home/bites from the road, usa restaurants/fogo de chão brazilian steakhouse dallas churrasco experience. fogo de chão brazilian steakhouse dallas churrasco experience. by bite of the best regional correspondent, stephanie amsel. we had no idea what to expect when we went to fogo de chão, brazilian steakhouse, toexperiencethe southern brazilian churrasco that included steak, lamb, pork and chicken. first, there was a lovely salad bar and immediately across from the salads was a plate piled with glistening, crispy bacon. the salads looked fresh and inviting, but the bacon looked amazing!

i don’t usually write reviews but i wanted to take a moment and say what an incredible steakhouse we have in fogo de chao. i enjoyed a business lunch there last week, and i actually enjoyed the lunch!!! the vibe is perfect for a big meeting or a cozy meal. the staff there treats you just like family, extremely welcoming and helpful. our waitress pleasantly joked with us and made terrific recommendations for drinks. we all enjoyed the huge salad bar with exotic fruit, traditional brazilian favorites, and classic american offerings. if you can believe it, their potato salad is the best i’ve ever tasted, and the fresh jumbo asparagus was a rare treat. i ate so many of the addictive soft savory cheese rolls, and they just kept diligently refilling the basket without hesitation. i had a fine red wine to enjoy with the rich buttery meats. and for dessert i ordered smooth sweet creme brûlée, it was so decadent and smooth i wanted to lick the bowl! i am eager to eat there again as there is so much more toexperienceand enjoy, i was very pleased with my meal and i know you will be too.

the other day, right around my favorite time (yes, that would be happy hour time), i wandered into fogo de chao on the plaza. i wasn’t looking for the full brazilian churrascoexperiencebut i did want a little something . . . and a drink. so it was a double-nice surprise when some complimentary appetizers came with my drink. beers and bites are available for $4 and their brazilian inspired cocktails are $8 – so of course, i was forced to order a caipirinha (cachaça, which is sorta like white rum, limes, cane sugar).

fogo de chao is awesome! i was excited to enjoy a top steakhouse in minneapolis! we had the greatest service ever! from start to finish we were treated like kings! it was our 3 year anniversary and the amazing service was perfect. we made our reservation on open table and revived 100 points which was fantastic. we were greeted by a very kind hostess with the greatest smile. she checked us in and said "happy anniversary you two" which was a very nice touch. we requested a window table which they honored very nice for sure. the server greeted us right away and the knowledge and hospitality was like something my boyfriend and i have never experienced. the server suggested the brazilian national drink made with juicy limes and a rum from brazil. we ordered the sensational drink and had a couple more after!! the salad bar was the first course, and what a salad bar! giant asparagus, aged perfect cheese and meats, and the best butter nut squash soup i have ever had. the server delivered our drinks and sparkling water before we got back from the salad bar and the coolest think was is that he folded our napkins again and pulled our chairs our for us as we returned. this is not something that happens often especially for a gay couple. they made us feel so welcome and set us at ease. after we enjoyed our delicious salad and soups we stated on the meat course. at fogo you have a little cute green and red disk, when the disk is on green the cute gaucho chefs in the little outfits serve meat to the table. they show and tell you what kind of meat they are serving you can say yes or no and the meat come and comes. it's so fun to chose the meat you want. it's like virtual ordering. back and forth from red and green all night we dinned on the best meats i had ever had! if your looking for a place that you chose yourexperienceand your treated like royalty as you do it then fogo is the place for you. a special thanks to eddie,al and matthew for stopping by the table to thank us for dinning with them. how many places have you had a manger not to mention 3 stop by thank us for dining and say "if everything isn't perfect let me know and i'll make sure it is" so amazing! fogo you made our anniversary perfect and we will be back. customers for life!! jim and josh.

even though i am not a big meat eater.... i have always wanted to try fogo de chao. when i saw that it was up for restaurant week (a bi-annual event done by minneapolis st. paul magazine that showcases our minnesota food scene) my brother and i thought it would be a great chance to go being neither of us could really afford the normal asking price (dinner is half price during restaurant week). when we walked in, fogo was packed! we had made a reservation for 7:00 but had to wait a little while because they were a little behind, but that was completely understandable with the nature of the restaurant and the mass of the crowd. when our pager finally buzzed, we were brought in to the belly of the beast, the dining room. there were people everywhere! yet despite the masses, the employees still maintained a sense of "don't worry , we got this all under control" demeanor as they buzzed around taking orders, delivering meals and clearing plates. when there was a span of time where my brother and i had our coins turned to green, yet it had been a little while since anyone had offered us meat, two different servers came over to check if there was anything in particular we wanted, and within minutes 3 different cuts of meat were brought to our table. the salad bar was unlike any i had ever seen, roasted beats, smoked salmon, asparagus, marinated mushrooms, mozzarella ... simply amazing! then there was the meat, i tried the lamb chops and chicken thighs, both of which were wonderfully tender, moist and full of flavor. my brother had almost an entire farm on his plate by the end of the evening with the wide variety of meats he consumed. we both ate to our hearts content and then some! overall it was a wonderful diningexperienceand the people over at fogo really have their system down pat.
