flying fish public market & grill

greatfoodand great service. they start you off with a small cup of their smoked fish dip and crackers. it is a very tasty dip and a great way to start the meal. i ordered the fresh mahi mahi cooked in the cajun seasoning with the cream sauce. it was awesome! corn and green beans were my side dishes and they rounded out the meal perfectly.

ok, but not worth the $$$. my family and i have gone here twice. thefoodis good, but very expensive. i am not a fan of seafood, but i take one for the team since everyone else does. they have zero options for people like me. you have the choice between a $10+ chicken sandwich or a $20 steak. they don't even have a grilled chicken breast. like i said thefoodis ok, but not worth the money and the service was terrible both times we went. the servers were nice enough, but they were not attentive and acted like we were the first table they had ever waited on.

i've eaten here a few times and thefoodhas always been wonderful! the guys in the market area who throw the fish are always a joy and so good with the kids! some of the wait staff need to go back through training or pick a different career/job though. this last time we went, it was crowded, as to be expected durning the season. the waitress brought out our kids drinks, then the apps came, 5 minutes later she comes back and says "oh did they not bring your drinks?" another bit passes and we finally get our drinks. we had ordered sushi as an app and the same thing happened with that. "oh they didn't bring it?" we were like, ummm.. we thought you were our waitress and you haven't brought it.foodcame out a little while later and everything was fantastic! i highly recommend the shrimp and grits. it was fantastic!!! i would nearly sell a kidney for the recipe! haha! the only downside to a couple of our visits have been some of the wait staff. most are very friendly and nice, just some seem forgetful and in their own little worlds. i mean, at one point my mom was ready to throw her cup at the girl to get a refill. haha! but yes, other than that, this place is excellent!

awesomefoodand service! melissa the bartender was very attentive and sweet. we started out with fried pickles (which were the chips that i prefer, not the spears). very good. i had the large caesar salad with fried shrimp. hubby had buffalo shrimp taco and blackened mahi tacos. portions were large andfoodwas delicious. great views of water and we sat inside at the bar.

second time around and it was as good this time as it was the first time. service was excellent - thank you amber.foodwas delicious - crab cakes, wedge salad, caesar salad, grilled shrimp, mascarpone cake, chocolate mousse cake and coffee. everything was excellent.

this is a great place to eat. they do not take reservation, waited 90 min for a table.foodand service was amazing would go back for sure..

we came on a tuesday night and had to wait 45 minutes which is always a good sign. thefoodand service were very good. the portions were large.

over-rated. mahi mahi was terrible, not fresh at all. the otherfoodwas just ok. won't be returning. there must be better seafood options in this town.

my husband and i arrived at 7:00 on 4th of july weekend and we had a 15 minute wait. the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was fun. they give a complementary mahi dip and it was very tasty. we had fried clam strips and raw oysters, which both were excellent. my husband had the shrimp and grits, which were some of the best i've ever had. i had the grilled tailfish with mango salsa. i've never had tailfish, but it was really flavorful and made to perfection. thefoodwas fresh and it came out fast, despite how huge this place is. we were done in 45 minutes. i would highly recommend it!

nice place don't let atmosphere p. it is noisy and busy and a long wait; but it is the beach the building is large and everyone is having fun. the fish in the market display (yes it is a fish market) were fresh. the staff let the children put gloves on and throw a fish to the " fishmonger". they had a blast, we were seated in the much quieter lower dining room. our server was joyce and she was harried with large tables but she took time to give all tables personal service. she suggested i try the fresh salmon crusted with fine corn meal, pan sealed and drizzled in a butter cream sauce. i was dubious but she made over it so much i ordered it. it was beyond delicious! my grandson ordered fish sticks. they were fresh made fish. sticks. lightly fried tender an adult would find it good. my grandson wants to go back. high praise from a 7 year old who is not a fish fan. everyone's meal was fresh and delicious. all ourfoodcame out in a timely manner and in the proper order. we are going back tonight. ask for joyce.

good food. the hostess was rude and we had to ask for a server, but chris, the manager, was wonderful and absolutely made-up for the rocky start. we all thought thefoodwas delicious. i got the shrimp and grits. there were more shrimp than i was expecting, and the sauce was perfect. my husband had habanero chutney on grilled fish. it was fabulous. my son could not finish his fried shrimp because there were so many and he enjoyed the fried pickles appetizer as well. we would definitely come back.
