was highly recommended. did not quite live up to expectations. 4 members in our party. we had surf and turf, crab legs, sauteed red snapper and grilled scallops. lets start with the positive. crab legs as my daughter says were delicious lol. grilled scallops were prepared well and not over cooked . decently seasoned with cajun spices and drawn butter. red snapper did not meet my wife's expectations. slightly over cooked which caused it to be dry. she thought the seasoning was a bit blan as well. the surf and turf did not meet expectations at. disappointed. 6 oz. filet was well prepared but bland. the lobster pieces were a bit over cooked and the fresh seasonal vegetables did not in my opinion seem to be fresh. the same would be said about the corn that other members of the family had. service was good. it was busy and we were seated timely. im 60 /40 on recommending

great food and great service. they start you off with a small cup of their smoked fish dip and crackers. it is a very tasty dip and a great way to start the meal. i ordered the fresh mahi mahi cooked in the cajun seasoning with the cream sauce. it was awesome! corn and green beans were my side dishes and they rounded out the meal perfectly.

ok, but not worth the $$$. my family and i have gone here twice. the food is good, but very expensive. i am not a fan of seafood, but i take one for the team since everyone else does. they have zero options for people like me. you have the choice between a $10+ chicken sandwich or a $20 steak. they don't even have a grilled chicken breast. like i said the food is ok, but not worth the money and the service was terrible both times we went. the servers were nice enough, but they were not attentive and acted like we were the first table they had ever waited on.

good - not great. i am a native of seattle - so the decor of this place was right up my alley. we opted to sit at the bar and our bartender/server was very friendly and provided excellent service. i don't think he had full command of the menu - but he verified with the kitchen to make sure he answered my questions accurately.

we ordered the flying fish specialty for two. the shirmp was a lilttle over-cooked but not so much that i would send it back. the platter was definately generous for two. we ate all the seafood (of course) and were satisfied enough to not eat all of the potatoes. for 36.95 i thought it was a fair price.

so good- market price salmon ftw!. the market price on the salmon wasn't any more expensive than their ny strip, and well worth it. it's a rich piece of salmon any way you get it, and we enjoyed every bite.

i've eaten here a few times and the food has always been wonderful! the guys in the market area who throw the fish are always a joy and so good with the kids! some of the wait staff need to go back through training or pick a different career/job though. this last time we went, it was crowded, as to be expected durning the season. the waitress brought out our kids drinks, then the apps came, 5 minutes later she comes back and says "oh did they not bring your drinks?" another bit passes and we finally get our drinks. we had ordered sushi as an app and the same thing happened with that. "oh they didn't bring it?" we were like, ummm.. we thought you were our waitress and you haven't brought it. food came out a little while later and everything was fantastic! i highly recommend the shrimp and grits. it was fantastic!!! i would nearly sell a kidney for the recipe! haha! the only downside to a couple of our visits have been some of the wait staff. most are very friendly and nice, just some seem forgetful and in their own little worlds. i mean, at one point my mom was ready to throw her cup at the girl to get a refill. haha! but yes, other than that, this place is excellent!

my family ordered hush puppies, fried pickles, and a philly roll for apps. delish! for entrees, jambalaya, cajun magi, fried seafood platter, and soft shell crab blt. the sandwich needed more sauce and the rice that came with the fish tasted funny, but other than that everything was great. came at 6 and were seated immediately without a reservation. will definitely come back.

wonderful experience! whenever a restaurant has such high reviews, i am a little skeptical, but the flying fish lived up to every star! delicious cocktails, the smoked mahi dip is magical, and the daily catches were phenomenal! if you are looking for a dining experience that is sure to please, check out the flying fish!!

overpriced and boooring we .... overpriced and boooring
we are there last night and didn't mind the 30 minute wait at the bar. we were seated and the inexperienced waiter gave us a small cup of smoked dip that was tasty, but small a few crackers and it was gone.
i ordered a piece of mahi blackened with mango salsa. talk about stingy. my fish might have been 4 ounces and the salsa was maybe 2 skimpy tablespoons . i had to add salt and pepper to the most boring rice, no taste. the green beans came out of a bag in the freezer, they were rubbery and had zero flavor. i told the waiter and he as they did said i could have dessert. who wants dessert? i wanted my 30 dollar meal to taste good!!!

red snapper had bones and just didn't taste right. corn on the cob overcooked. lobster tail was barely warm when received. only good things were salad and hush puppy. horrible experience for a place with a supposed 4.5 rating.

i went for happy hour on a monday night. this has always been my favorite happy hour place at the beach. they recently changed the happy hour menu a bit but still have some of the favorites on it. i had 6 steamed oysters which were good and the poblano shrimp dip which was okay. they have a decent beer selection including a few locals on tap. got out for $29 with tip and was completely stuffed. the bartenders were super friendly too. highly recommended. 4 1/2 stars.

the wife and myself ate here yesterday. we had eaten here before but it had been 5 or more years ago. we both had a drink. the drinks were ok but neither of us could tell there was any alcohol. the smoked fish spread they bring you was quickly gobbled up and was good. we each had one of their fresh fish selections. both with cajun seasoning and an herb cream sauce. they were both very good. the gouda mac and cheese was also quite good and the hush puppies were nice and crispy. very good meal, we will eat here again while we are here but forgo the alcoholic drinks.
