bad menu. i've been to fluke in the past and liked their food. however, they have drastically changed their menu to the point where the only gooddishthey had was sold out for the evening. i occasionally enjoy something new, but i wasn't in the mood for rabbit or quail.

cold food and management!. dinner with my wife started out ok, i have to say the drinks were good and my mussell app. was great. dinner arrived cold, my strip steak and the sides were cold as was my wife's scallops. (but the fries were hot)? my wife was not offered to have herdishtaken back while my entree was being corrected so we ate the cold scallops while i waited for my entree. when i sent mydishback due to being a $34 cold strip steak with cold cream kale and cold sauteed onions on top; the original steak came back still sliced where i had checked it, looked microwaved and was now overcooked of course. when i asked for the manager he did not offer to refire the steak as would be proper but asked what else would i like. i asked why i could not have a properly cooked steak. he became very noticeably irritated at that point and said the we were showing aggression. ( i really only wanted a warm , medium rare strip steak with warm sides!) he actually said that they come with the pre sauted cold onions on top! i just had to leave at that point. my wife asked the waitress if there was a way we could speak to the owner as we left due to the poor customer service from the manager but was told that he was the owner!
i always though it is proper service procedure in a restaurant of this price point to 1. always satisfy the customer - don't argue 2. when adishhas an issue, take both partiesdishback, re-fire and correct the issue. back to training for you!

go somewhere else!!. although i would complement the chef for tasty food the experience was terrible. we made reservations ahead of time for our party of ten. we were seated at a table against the wall in a small corner of the restaurant. they sat a couple at a table for two right next to us (so close that the table had to be moved in order for them to be seated). when the couple complained and asked to be moved, the owners blamed us for being too loud and were horribly rude to us for the rest of the evening.
my husband ordered an appetizer that had beluga listed as an ingredient on the menu. when he received hisdishand there was no beluga caviar in thedishhe asked the waitress why beluga was in the description on the menu. when she could not answer our question we asked the owner. with a very nasty attitude he was told that it was because the lentles in thedishresembled beluga caviar. at the prices they charge i would have expected beluga to be referring to caviar (not food that looks like caviar). the waitress, although very sweet, was clueless about everything on the menu. at the end of the meal my 11 year old daughter and 10 year old niece got up to go to the bathroom. when they returned they were almost in tears because the owner had yelled at them for getting up from the table without an adult to go to the bathroom. she told them to be quiet and go back to their table immediately or leave. when i approached her to ask what had happened she was very nasty to me. i told her i felt she had been rude to us and her response to me was "it's time for you to leave as well".
we often take our children to nice restaurants and have always been complemented on their behavior. we were in newport for 4 days and had great experiences everywhere else. with all of the fantastic restaurants in newport, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
